GARDEN CLUB DIPORTS LADY BUGS

The Chugiak G~den Club held their monthly meeting on Hay 17th at the Alaska Uoodcraft. The ~lub has gone ahead with their progralll. of ludy-bugs for control of aphids. · The club has ordered 10 gallons of the insects. Some of this order has not yet been s ;Joken for, so anyone with an aphid problem uho is interest­ed in obtaining some lady-bugs may get :firt}J.er.< information from Paul Suanson at the Post office. Aphids nay be re-co~ nized as a small flat green flake resembling green dandru:tr They &'e about the size of a pin-head. They are harmful to many crops and are ln-ea.k­ing havoc lri th the birch trees in the area.
