Work With Branham PartyIt is with great pleasure that we are

ahle to report that Rev. and Mrs. F. F.Bosworthhave been working with us inthe services beginning with the Pensacolameeting. Years ago as a boy the editorremembers that news of the great Bosworthhealing campaigns reached the dailynewspaperseven in the far west. In thosedays enormous crowds gathered to hearthe Bosworth party. The largest crowdever gathered under one roof in Ottawa,Canada, attended their meetings and some12,000 sought salvation. The editor hasbefore him a folder showing the greatthrongs that gathered in the many citieswherethe Bosworth brothers labored, suchas the Arcadia Hall in Detroit, the Arena,Erie, Pa., the Convention Hall at Camden,N. J., and other communities. Besidesthe great number of healings (BrotherBosworthhas received over 200,000 writtentestimonies of healing), many tens ofthousandsfound the Lord as their Saviourin those campaigns.

Unfortunately, during the Twentiesmanyof the large auditoriums did not havepublic address systems, and the strain ofthemeetings began to tell on the evangel-

Kansas City Feels Mighty Impact

Of the Branham Meetings

, We believe that the dates, April 10-14,will long be remembered by the peopleof Kansas City, Kansas, as a time of DivineVisitation. Beginning on Saturday nightwith an attendance of some 1,500, themeeting gained momentum and the breakcame Monday night during a mighty demonstration of God's healing grace. Peoplewere delivered from every kind of affliction, and the Hand of God was gloriouslyrevealed through the instrumentality of alittle unpretentious man, William Branham, whom God has sent to pray for thesick. Nevertheless, the fine spirit of theco-operating ministers who came togetherin one accord, and who backed the meetingwith much prayer, were responsible to agreat degree for the success of the meeting.A reporter from the Kansas City Star (oneof America's largest newspapers from acirculation standpoint, and traditionallyconservative) gave the meeting an excellent write-up. A portion of his report appears elsewhere in this issue. After Monday night, the auditorium, with seatingcapacity of 3,700, was filled to overflowing with hundreds turned away. We shalllet Rev. U. S. Grant, who was chairmanof the local committee, describe the meeting as he saw it:

"When I was two years old my motherand father were saved in a Full GospelRevival and lived faithfully to God, bringing me up in Full Gospel atmosphere. Ihave seen many wonderful things happenby the hand of the Lord, but I can honestly

. say I never saw anything quite so wonderful and thrilling and faith inspiring asthe manifestations of God's power in theBranham campaign here in Kansas City. Some one hundred ministers who attendedthe campaign concur in this appraisal.

We had heard of Brother Branham'sministry for months, and had made careful checks, talking to many who had beenprivileged to attend Ibis meetings e1se-

Signs and Wonders Attend

Meetings in Pensacola

To those of us who were fortunateenough to participate in the Branhamcampaign in Pensacola, Florida, the reminder of those six glorious days willalways afford a most pleasant memory. For in a world so filled with deception, delusions and fallacies, even the mostinanimate of human souls cries out forthe real, the true, the infallible, and thatdesire is greatly realized in a series ofBranham meetings such as we enjoyedin Pensacola. If there were an abundanceof time and space, our delight would beto relate to our readers some of the outstanding incidents which flood our memoryas we recall. You would enjoy readingof the little girl whose face beamed withthe radiance of an angel's as she carriedher steel braces through the congregationafter being healed; or the expressions ofsurprise and wonder on the faces of thosewho heard for the first time; or the thrilling sight of hundreds of weeping men andwomen,. broken, convicted and standingto their feet as a sign of surrender afterlistening with rapt attention to the heartrending narrative of the life of WilliamBranham in his own sincere words. Iwould like for you to hear the commentsof all the fine ministers who co-operatedin the meeting, but here is the reportgiven by one, Rev. D. L. Welch, who waslargely responsible for bringing this campaign to that city:

"The Branham Campaign which came toPensacola, Fla., will be long remembered. The country for hundreds of miles wasstirred. Many great healings and miracleswere performed. It was the talk of thecity; everywhere one went, he could hear

. people discussing the meetings. It seemedthe whole city became stirred overnight.People were asking one another the question : "Were you there, and did you seethe great things that happened?"

Rev. Branham was only here six nights,(Continued on Next Page)

The Ministry of Angels and the AppearanceOf the Angel to William Branham

By Gor~on Lindsay in Collaboration with William Branham

Altar Call at Kansas City, Kansas

The remarkable angelic visit received byWilliam Br~nham some two years ago hascaused no little wonder among the peapleof God as well as the unsaved. While afew reject the ministry of the supernatural, even as some did in the days of Christ, theoverwhelming majority of the people whoattend the great healing meetings are fullyconvinced of the reality of the angelicvisitation.

Indeed the truth af angelic ministrationto mortals is quite in line with the Wordof God. It has been recognized generallythat at least to some extent the gifts of theSpirit have been restored to the church.,But what about the gift of discerning ofspirits? Many have assumed that this giftincludes only the discerning of evil spirits.Although the gift must certainly invalvethe detection of evil powers, WE MUSTREMEMBER THA}' THERE ARE MOREGOOD SPIRITS THAN BAD. What aboutthe angels? In what realm do they minister? The answer is given in Heb. 1 :14:"Are they not all ministering spirits, sentforth to minister to them who shall beheirs of salvation?"

ANGELS MINISTER TO GOD'S PEOPLE

Though ordinarily we cannot see angels,it is evident from the Scriptures that theyare in the campany of the children of Godmuch of the time. No doubt, if we fullyrealized that there were heavenly personsin our vicinity who are daily watching ourconduct and perhaps our thoughts, it wouldhave a profound effect upon our lives. Yetsuch must be the case. (Matt. 18: 16), alsoPsa. 34:7: "The angel of the Lord encampeth about them that fear Him, and delivereth them. " We could cite the great number of Scriptures which deal with theearthly ministry of angels, but that is notnecessary. The fact is that practically allBible teachers believe and teach the actuality of such ministry. Why then arenot angels seen more of·ten? Evidentlywe need the operation of this abovementioned 'gift to enable our dull humansenses to' peer beyond the veil and perceivesuch highly refined beings as angels.Elisha apparently had this gift and wehave the record of .his prayer in which herequested that his servant's eyes might beopened that he, too, might be able to seethe heavenly host of the Lord.

"And Elijah prayed and said, Lord,I pray thee open his eyes that hemight see. And the Lord opened theeyes of the young man: and he saw:and behold the mountain was full afhorses and chariots of fire roundabout Elisha." (II Kings 6: 17).There are numerous ·cases on record

where people just prim' to their passing

from this world, have witnessed attendingangels. Apparently from the words afJesus, it is one of the duties of angelicbeings to transport the human spirit, whenit leaves its crumbling tenement of clay, into Paradise (Luke 16:22). It appearsthat when the grosser human senses fail, the senses of the spirit become quickenedand are able to witness things that ordinarymortals cannot.

THE ANGEL'S MESSAGE TO

BROTHER BRANHAM

The angel conversed with BrotherBranham during the first visitation forperhaps ,half an hour. We have neverasked our brother to divulge more of thatconversation than what he has voluntarilyfelt led to tell us. We are corning intoBible days again, and no doubt there willbe mare supernatural revelations as timegoes on. Concerning this there is onepoint that is fundamental. An angel of theLord will never reveal anything but whatagrees strictly with the Scriptures. Satan, too, may appear as an angel of light. Buthe is quickly detected by the spirituallyminded. Satan is the father of falsehood,an habitual liar, and he cannot long showhimself without' telling a lie or makingstatements that twist, distort, deny, takeaway or add to the Scriptures. His first

conversation with a member of the humanrace, Eve, invo·lved his telling an outrightlie-a denial of the veracity of God. Weshall now consider some of the things thatwere spoken by the angel to' Brother Branham, and we note that his words agreestrictly with the Word of God.

THE ANGELIC VISITATION

(Because the first issue which gaveBrother Branham's story of how the giftcarne, has been exhausted, we includeherewith his testimony of his meeting withthe angel at this point)

"Then along in the night, at about theeleventh hour, I had quit praying and wassitting up when I noticed a light flickeringin the raom. Thinking someone was corn·ing with a flashlight, I looked out of thewindow, but there was no one, and whenI looked back, the light was spreading outon the flo.or, becoming wider. Now Iknow this seems very strange to you, asit did to me also. As the light was spreading, of course I became excited and startedfrom the chair, but as I looked up, therehung that great star. However, it did nothave five points like a star, but lookedmore like a ball of fire or light, shiningdown upon the flO'or. Just then I heardsomeone walking across the floor, which

where. We thought we were prepared forwhat was to happen, but I am personallyconvinced that one is never quite preparedfor the phenomenon o.f Spiritual powerand demonstration. The Spirit that ,pervaded the very atmosphere, the anointedpreaching (such preaching!), the fellowship of so many kindred minds, and theone thing expected above all others-themany marvelous healings and denverances.Yes, they happened; we were not disappointed. God was there and His wo.rkswere accomplished.

The meetings are not many days past, but we have checked on a few of the casesprayed for. The first night a minister ofthe Gospel who had come all the wayfro.m California was healed of a cancer thatwas fast taking his life. Since the meetinghe has preached a number of times, andis gaining his strength rapidly.

In the second night service, a lady hadjust go.ne through the prayer line whenBrother Branham stopped suddenly andshouted: "Someone just lost a goiter backhere. Who was it?" A lady who is amember of my congregation felt at herthroat and a goiter she had had for yearshad suddenly disappeared. There was awave of rejoicing then. I learned laterthat ano.ther lady who had been attendingmy church sat beside her daughter-in-lawin the meeting that night. At the sameinstant the lady mentioned above lost hergoiter, this lady had a slight stranglingspell. Her daughter-in-law felt at herthroat and she, too, had lost a goiter ofseveral years' growth.

A young Catholic mother came with hertwin boys, about five .years old, bo.rndeaf and only able to speak a few chosenwords learned at a private school. Bothboys were instantly healed. We havechecked on these boys and they are improving rapidly and have already increased their vocabulary amazingly.

These are only a very few of many testimo.nies we could record here. People wereattendant at the meetings from all overthe United States and Canada. Faith is veryhigh as a result of these meetings. Wetalked with one pastor who had a crippledman in his church who was not ministeredto in the campaign, but his faith was sobuilt up that he received a complete deliverance the following Sunday night. Many people are coming to our churchasking for prayer, people whom we havenot known before. The glorious thingabout this is that they are being healed.I have talked with a number of pastors, and all have reported that this meetinghas been the springboard for revival intheir churches. It has also brought uscloser together in the unity of the Spiritand the bonds of peace. We feel the ministry God has given Brother Branham issimply the forerunner of a great restora-

THE VOICE OF HEALING

PHOENIX RESIDENT

HEALED OF CANCERLast September I went to Dr. Weldon

Baker, 713 North Second Street, Pho.enix,Arizona, and he made two x-rays. Hefound that I had a bad case of colitis, thatmy heart was enlarged from poison, thatonly one-fifth of my liver was active, andthat there were several stones as big asmy thumbnail on the right side of myliver. I started on a six-week treatment, but became very sick. Dr. Andersonattended me and said I had cancer, buthad waited too long before getting help.I became very sick and couldn't take anymore treatments. My colon had to beopened up to permit the waste to passthrough. I had a very bad spell. Dr.Baker came, and the 'saints were prayingwhen he got there. He to.ld me later thatI had been dead two minutes, but thatJesus had heard the saints' cries.

I was in bed nine weeks and lost 40Po.unds. At times I was so bad that Icould not swallow water for five days. Then came the announcement that WilliamBranham was coming to Phoenix the second of March to pray for the sick andafflicted. My husband was at church earlythat first Sunday night, but Brother Branham was unable to get to me. Nor was heable to get to. me the following night, although I witnessed many miracles of thehealing of others. The next day I wastaken again, but when I reached thechurch I became very sick. They broughta cot for me, but I don't remember whenI laid down.

The first I knew, Brother Branham wastalking to me, saying: "Look at me, sister."At first it was just a faint whisper, butthe third time he repeated it I tried to openmy eyes. After a while I could see himand he asked me if I believed what he to.ldme. I said, "Yes, because I could see theangel standing beside you." BrotherBranham then said, "Sister, your faith hassaved you. That cancer was all over yourstomach, ,but God has healed you. Everyroot is cursed and you will be well if youcontinue to believe, altho.ugh it will takea month or six weeks for this to rot away.In 72 hours from now you wilL be verysick and in great pain, but just believethrough it all." Then the Lord spokethrough Brother Branham, and a warm oilstarted thro.ugh my head outside and inside and went to my feet. As it went down, the pain left entirely and I felt verystrong. I got off the cot shouting anddancing and was able to attend five otherservices Brother Branham held in Phoenix.

When the 72 hours were up, I becamevery ill, and hurt so badly I couldn't even

tion of the gifts to the church in theseclosing moments before He comes togather us unto Himself."

cry. I was terribly sick for a little overtwo weeks, then I began to. eat anythingI wanted, where before I had been livingon fruit juices and soup.

Seven weeks after I had been prayedfor, I had several more x-rays taken andthese showed I was entirely healed. Dr.Baker told me that I might tell all of this, and he would gladly show the x-rays toanyone who would like to see them, or heWo.uld talk to them personally. I am praising Jesus for it!

EDITOR'S NOTE-This testimony appeared in print sometime before. I personally visited and talked with this ladyin Phoenix a few weeks ago and can con·firm the facts of the healing and that sheis still healed today.

Tumor Gone-Symptoms GoneDear Brother Branham:

I wish to add my testimony to the number. Brother Branham was here in Dallaslast February a year ago. I had a largelump in my breast, which itched, burnedand hurt me for a number of years. WhenI went up for prayer for eyes and kidneytrouble, I forgot fo.r a time about thetumor. Brother Branham took my handand said, "What about the tumor in yourbreast?" It frightened me. He prayedand I came over to one side and sat down.About that time Satan told me, "Yes, it isa tumor and yo.ur faith won't helpenough." About that time a deaf and dumbfrom birth said, "Mama" and "Jesus.?' Thepower came over me and faith took holdand I was healed. Hallelujah! In a fewdays the tumor was gone. But symptomsremained for a couple of months. I hadBr.other Branham send me an ano.intedhandkerchief, which when ·applied in Jesus'name sent the power of God all throughmy body.' All symptoms are now gone.Satan will hinder if he can, but if we holdon, healing is ours. Thank God!

Three Wonderful Days

At Sedal ia, Mo.

For three brief days the Branham party

was in Segalia, Missouri. Rev. J. ErnBaxter of Vancouver, B. c., a member of

the campaign committee, arrived in timefor the last two services. His speaking inthe afternoon was a feature of the meetings. Just as this issue of the paper isabout to go to press, we receive a specialdelivery letter from Rev. Bird Campbell, chairman of. the local committee, givinga report of tHe Sedalia meeting. It readsas follows:

"We are praising God for a three-daymeeting held in Sedalia, Missouri, by Rev.William Branham of Jeffersonville,Indiana. This was the greatest meetingever held in this city. We obtained thelargest auditorium in the city, seatingsome 1,600 people, but this proved far toosmall for the large crowds that came. Afterpacking the place out, people sat everywhere, in the windows, doors and aisles, and many unable to enter at all stood onthe outside looking in. In fact, a newspaper reporter told me that one had to getthere in the morning service to be ableto get a seat in the evening. Sick peoplecame from every direction, some in wheelchairs, some on cots, having been broughtthere by ambulances. All were hoping andpraying that God would heal them.

As the crowds were so large it was impossible for Brother Branham to givespecial time for each one. A long faithline was formed and he just asked God toheal them as they passed by. Testimoniesare coming in daily of the miracles andhealings that were effected in that line. One girl whose toes were crossed, foundthe next morning that they were all right.Another lady who had Ii cancer under herarm and was unable to use her arm, foundthe next day that the cancer was gone. Now she is using her arm. One lady hada goiter, but upon arising the followingday her husband called her attention tothe fact that it was gone. And on and onit would go if we had time to tell of thewonders of the Branham meeting. We arepraying that Go& will send Brother Branham back to Sedalia in the near future."

Arthritis - Crutch Gone

Dear Brother Branham:

I didn't try to get into the prayer linebecause there were so many more in aworse condition than' myself. But I washealed last night-walked out perfectlystraight, carrying my crutch in my hand.May God give them all faith to be healed.

ist, and he found it necessary to terminatethat type of .ministry. Then for a longtime Brother Bosworth maintained a radioministry in which many thousands of heal-

. ing testimonials were received.

It was in Miami, Fla., that Brother Bosworth met Brother Branham. Both menfell in love with each other, and it seemedthe hand of Providence drew them together. Brother Bosworth has reached theage where he, though in strik!ng healthfor a man of his age, is nevertheless unable to carryon the responsibility of greatcampaigns himself. However, he still isable to minister the Word of God in incomparable fashion, and give the partythe benefit of his many years of experience. The sweet humility of Brother Bosworth, not seeking for himself, but alwaysseeking to defer to Brother Branham, andthe latter manifesting the same spirit, makes a remarkable combination.

With Brother Bosworth taking the morning services with special instruction to thesick, and Brother Baxter the afternoonservice with special emphasis on evangel.ism and Bible teaching, and finally BrotherBranham in the great healing servi'ce atnight, it is believed that these meetingswill be the instrument of even greatervisitations of salvation and blessing. Youreditor, who is acting as a sort of co-ordinator behind the scenes of the many

phases of these meetings, rejoices in the

Page 5

rich blessing of fellowship he enj oys withthese humble yet great men of faith.

Brother Bosworth, remarking concerning the ministry of Brother Branham, declared: "In my own ministry I witnessedall the miracles that I have seen in theBranham meetings, but never in thisfashion. I have never claimed the Giftof Healing. Sometimes it took us monthsto get the crowds to come, and to build upfaith so that the miracles would take place, but in Brother Branham's ministry it isdifferent. Miracles take place the firstnight and the crowds gather from the first. This is the difference between the Giftof Healing and the prayer of faith."

Rev. Oral Roberts Present

At Kansas City Meeting

It was our great pleasure to meet Rev.Oral Roberts of Tulsa, Okla., during theKansas City meeting. A picture across thepage shows Brother Roberts standing withseveral members of the Branham party. It was possible for Brother Roberts to bewith us in several of the services, andwe rejoiced as we learned the manner inwhich God was blessing our brother in thehealing ministry. It has been BrotherBranham's conviction that there will begreat manifestati<lns of the major giftsat the end of time. It appears evident thata unique ministry of healing, which beganabout 11 months ago, is being manifestedthrough Brother Roberts.

According to the testimony of Rev. OralRoberts, he had been ill for five monthswith a disease the medical profession couldnot cure. "Affliction racked my bodyuntil my brain reeled under the impact.Clouds of fear and depression swept overme. The darkness of the long nights, thedreariness of tbe days diat seeminglywould never end, the knowledge of anincurable disease, the thwarting of ambilion, the frustration of a wasted life-allthese agonies bore down upon me in unending torment. It was the light of a newday that blessed me and when the 'Sunof Righteousness with healing in HisWings' rose over the horizon of helplessness and hopelessness, I received the blessing of deliverance that lifted me fwm thedeathbed and gave me strength and powerto rise up as a witness unto the truth. Sincethen I have preached the Gospel far andnear, from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico."

We praise God for the great work thatGod has done for Brother Roberts andis doing through him. When one observesthe dynamic manner in which our brotheris carrying on his ministry it is difficultto realize that not long ago, he was supposedly on his deathbed, without hopefrom human source. Truly nothing is toohard for the Lord, if we will only believe.

WARNING--Because of the great number of people who attend the meetingsexpecting to be prayed for, some comingfrom great distances, we advise no one tomake the trip under these circumstancesunless they are prepared to stay for severaldays. ALSO, because of international conditions causing cancellation of auditoriumsand other reasons it is sometimes neces

sary to make changes in the schedule. Suchchanges are never made unless they arebeyond our control.

Such was the case at Wichita and Elgin. In the latter city, for example, due tointernational developments, the army cancelled agreement for the use of the Armory, which caused a slight change in the datesof the Elgin meeting.

Questions Concerning Divine

Healing With' ScripturalAnswers

By B. E. ECHOLS

1. Has the Lord made any prOVISIOnsf or the healing of His people ? Yes!Isa. 53:5; I Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15;Mark 16:17-18., 2. Are we assured by the Scriptures thatthe Lord still heals today the same as Hedid in ,Old Testament times and when Hewalked the shores of the Sea of Galilee?Mal. 3:6; Heb. 13:8.

3. What is the cause of all sickness anddiseases? (Sin-directly and indirectly).Directly: Deut. 28:58-62; Numbers 12:12, 9-11; 21:5-7; Psa. 107:17, 10-12; St.John 5:13-14. Indirectly: Provo 26:2;Romans 5 :12-14. The afflictions of Job,Hezekiah and the man who was born blindare exampies of sickness, diseases and infirmities of this order-coming upon someof God's children due to Adam's sin orfall.

4.. Does the Bible teach that God sometimes makes folks sick and afflicts them?Micah 6:13; Deut. 28 :27-28; II ·Chron.21-14-15, 18-19; Psa. 119:75; Lam. 1:12;Acts 12:21-23.

5. Who is it that often afflicts peopleand makes them sIck? Satan: Job 2: 7 ;Acts 10:38; Luke 13:11-13, 16.

6. Why would the Lord ever make anyone sick or afflict them? Psa. 107:17,

~ 10-11; Micah 6: 13; Psa. 119:67, 71;I Cor. 11:27-30; Heb. 12:5-13.

10. Can God's children please Him without trusting in Him for the healing of theirbodies? Heb. 11:6; II Chron. 16:13;Luke 18:7-8. I believe that one wouldgather from these references that he wouldneed to trust in the Lord for his healingin order to please Him.

THE VOICE OF HEALING

Because of the great number of invitations which have been received by theBranham Committee for campaigns to beheld in this country and abroad, and byreason of the fact that the committee isaway in meetings much of the time, it hasbeen found necessary to prepare this statement to give such information as may acquaint the pastors in 'the various citiesof the conditions by which. a Branhamcampaign may be held in tlIeir community.

We might say to begin with that thefinal responsibility in the ch\Jice of thecities in which campaigns are to be heldis with Brother Branham himself. Ourbrother spends much time in prayer andthere are times when he feels a specialleading toa certain city. Naturally, thecommittee gives priority to such leadingsas our brother may have.

However, Brother Branham himself isto a great extent guided by Divine Providence. Therefore, when the ministers ofa city who believe in Divine Healing, cometo the place where they believe the Lordwould have tlIem join hands in an effortto reach their community for God, andthey will pledge themselves to adhere toan inter-evangelical policy, it then may beassumed that God is leading that way.Such a policy is absolutely necessary, forin the Branham meetings so great is theinterest in healing, the people will comefrom all the churches. If certain groups

feel that they are ignored or if doctrinesmay be classed as a sinner if he fails totrust in the Lord for the healing of hisbody? Rev. 21:8; Romans 14:23; James4:17.

13. What may a child of God expectfor not trusting in the Lord for the healingof his body? Jer. 17:5-6, 13-14; Psa.60:11; Mark 5:25-26.

14. Is it safe to trust in the Lord(Jesus: Acts 9:5-6) for the healing of thebody as well as for the saving of the soul?Matt. 28:18; Jer. 32:17; Provo 29:25;Psa. 118:8; 125:1-2, 34:7-10, 19, 23:1, 4;Nah. 1:7; Heb. 13:8.

15. Should one just trust in the Lordwith his light afflictions and not trust inHim (believe in Him) for healing whenseriously afflicted? Psa. 62 :8, 103:2-3;

. Jer. 32:17; Rev. 2:10.16. Is it possible for one to obbain heal

ing before the Lord has saved him? (Iwould think so, if he w()uld come to theLord. repenting and believing). Provo28:13; Mark 9:23; St. John 5:13-14;Matt. 6:33.

17. What is advisable for all people todo after the Lord has healed them? . St.John 5:14; Heb. 12:1-2; Romans 12:1-2;Luke 17:12-18; Eph. 5:20.

May the Lord enable you, by His grace,to fully trust in Him at all times.

May, 1948

are taught or endorsed in which there isa difference of opinion (and there aresuch even among the most godly)although in the great Evangelical Truthsthere is agreement, an opposition will develop which may undo much of the gooddone in the meeting. The matter then resolves itself to this: Does the salvation ofthe ITmny souls that may be won by combined effort mean enough that we can forthe moment lay aside controversial issues, remembering that afterward in each individual church, full liberty is granted topreach the convictions that each groupmay hold.

Second, the population of the city andits strategic loeation is importa~t. It isto an advantage to choose a city in whichthe location is central and the transportation and housing facilities are ample toserve the great number of people who attend these meetings from a distance.

Third, and this is very important-theavailability of a commodious auditorium. The information concerning this must beaccurate. Often we get a letter containingfor example a statement such as this:"The auditorium in our city will hold4,000." Investigation may disclose thatit holds only 2,600. Of course, no onedeliberately misrepresents this, but accurate information is usually only obtainedby inquiry from the manager of the auditorium. Let us know the total cost of theauditorium by day, including the cost formorning and afternoon services. Includedin this should. be any additional fees forstagehands, janitor work, heating, PAsystems. You should also inquire from themanager how far ahead the reservation ofthe auditorium must be made. What downpayment is required?

Fourth: Would the ministers prefer theservices to be just during the week orto also include a Sunday? It is the policyof the Branham party to underwrite theexpense of the meeting from the offeringsof the campaign. No Sunday morningmeeting is ever held. All local churcheswill have their regular services at that time.We ask those who send invitations to carefully consider these important matters before writing us. Please do not .ask us tocome to a local church. Besides what hasaIready been mentioned it is a fact that nochurch, unless it will hold several thousand people, will be able to accommodatethe crowds that attend.

An article has been prepared by a member of the committee which will give information to the local churches as to thebest means which should be employed inpreparing for the Branham meetings. These booklets will be sent on request assoon as they are prepared, to loeal committees contemplating meetings in theircommunities.

Removed Vocal Cords

Restored

(See Picture)

Our daughter Judith, when five yearsold, became hoarse very gradually, andsoon she was unable to speak above awhisper. We took her to a throat specialist, then to a diagnostician and associatedoctors. They removed a paploma(growth on her vocal cords), but theythought it might come back. It did growback three times in nine months, and eachtime it was removed it would come back. Each of the first two times, she couldspeak after the operation, but the lasttime the growth was so large that difficultywas encountered in removing it.

When we found the growth coming backagain, my husband and I decided that ifthe Lord wanted to take her home, itwould be agreeable with us, but we wantedto give Him the chance to heal her first.Judith, by this time, was gasping forbreath and we knew if the Lord didn'theal her soon she would finally choke.

I placed the handkerchief you sent onher sleeping garment as instructed. Judithgradually improved, her breathing becamemore normal, and she did not gasp. Stillshe could not talk above a whisper.

We went through the prayer line in yourmeeting at Saskatoon and the Lord revealed to you that she needed a new pairof vocal chords. And that is just whathappened, for Judith started to sing "OnlyBelieve" out loud for the first time in ayear and a half. She began talking moreand more and even sing in a "SunshineChoir" at church. She finds it easier towhisper, but we are encouraging her touse her voice more and more.

EDITOR'S NOTE-Later reports re.ceived from Mrs. Philips state that Judithis perfectly well and has gained weightso that she is now six pounds overweightfor her height. She can skate, run, or doany strenuous exercise which she couldnever have done before. All of the symptoms of a growth are gone and her breathing is normal.

Whatsoever ye desire when ye pray, believe ye receive and ye shall have. (Mark11;24).

Minister's Wife Healed

Of Cancer

That we all might believe that' JesusChrist is the same yesterday, today andforever, I give this word of testimony. TheLord delivered me from cancer in theextreme part of the lower colon, blessedbe His wonderful name. I first took feverand was forced to go to bed April 1, 1947,although I had been sick for weeks beforethis.

There was to be a healing service at SanCarlos Indian Church April 8, whereBrother William Branham was to pray for

. the sick. I heard Brother Branham inPhoenix about a month before and sawmany miracles of healing. San Carlos isabout 50 miles from Superior, and kindChristian friends took me to the service.I was on a stretcher, being unable to standin line. As there were many hundreds tobe prayed for, it was 1 a. m. beforeBrother Branham reached me. After heprayed, he told us the cancer was killedby the power of God and would pass frommy body after 72 hours. The followingSunday morning about 3 a. m. the cancerpassed off-about two quarJs or more ofdisintegrated and dead cancer tissue. I wasvery weak and sore, so that my husband,Brother Mitchell, despaired of my life. Some thought that I should go to a hospital, but we knew the cancer was goneand God who had given deliverance wasable to give health again. Jesus has doneall this in a very short time. Now I amable to be up to walk about the housesome and even out into the yard. Also wentto church last night. All honor and praiseto our Lord.

Arches and Crossed Eyes

Healed in Miami, Fla.Bro. Branham, you said for us to write

in our testimonies. I'm going to try, butI can't praise the Lord enough for youand I'm going to write about myself.

I had an awful cramping in my footand they told me it was fallen arches.I had to wear an artificial arch; my heeland the ball of my foot would drawalmost together; seemed like the way itwould hurt I would have to jump out ofbed and press my foot on the floor to getthe bow out. One night during your visitto Miami I was sitting on the front seat;I wanted you to pray for my foot for Iknew you could heal it, but there were somany people there on stretchers, in wheelchairs, etc., I didn't get in line. I tookmy shoe off right where I sat and let thepoor sick al'ld suffering people go in line;I believed as you prayed for them andmy foot was healed as a cool feeling wentover my foot. I can't explain like it was,so I praised the Lord for healing my foot;I reached in my shoe, pulled the metalarch I had been wearing out, and I canwalk barefooted now. I know Jesus canheal.

Last night I wanted to take RichardTurpin, a neighbor boy about 10 years ofage, who was cross-eyed. I kept begginguntil they said he could go. He was instantly touched and his eyes were straight.I know without a doubt you have the giftof healinll;.

Thank the Lord for a servant like you.How can people doubt when they can seethe blind begin to see, the deaf hear andthe dumb speak. To the benefit of thqsewho read my testimony, I can say I haveseen this with my own eyes and I knowit is true.

EVANGELIST HEALEDGreetings in Christ! On the second night at your Fresno

meetings, I was completely healed andwanted you to know about it.

, Since last July I have been very ill, thatis until about two and a half weeks ago,as a result of having more zeal than wisdom, mainly. This was the third nervousbreakdown that I've had and I'm only 21years old. I believe I've learned my lessonnow, but it was so hard to see work tobe done and no one to do it.

We have been going to lots of doctorstrying to find out the trouble, and justbefore we came to' the Fresno meetings,we had started going to the University ofCalifornia Hospital. Not knowing whatthe trouble was made me feel worse thanbefore. Finally they told me that my wombhad slipped out of place and I had donesomething to my back. They tried to putmy womb in place, but I knew that itdidn't stay because it bothered me so andmy back felt awful. After you prayed forme, I walked down the aisle and I felt thewhole thing move into place. Since thenI've even lifted my accordian and it's stillall right. When l left the building mynerves felt so calm, that I felt like a different person. Before this I couldn't eat wellfor I was hothered with nervous indigestion and an acid stomach and couldn'tsleep well. Since then I've been able toeat fruit and all kinds of things nearlywithout trouble with my stomach. I nearlydrop off to sleep riding in a car and that'sunusual for me and I can sleep even withthe light on. My back is all right, too,and also my mastoids and sinus. I knowthat God healed them even' though myfaith is tested at times.

May, 1948 THE VOICE OF HEALING

WHY ALL ARE NOT HEALEDBy Rev. F. F. Bosworth

Page 11

Part II

Still others are hindered from receivinghealing by being taught to add to theirprayer for healing the words "If it be thywill." There is only one case given inthe New Testame~t .of anyone asking forhealing in this way. That was the caseof the leper who said, "If thou wilt thaucanst make me whole." He could not prayotherwise because he was not infarmedas to the will .of God in the matter. ChristJesus did not heal him until he added tohis faith that He could, the faith that Hewould heal him. The w.ords ·of Jesus, "Iwill" cancelled the leper's "if," and it isimpossible for us to ever pray with faithuntil the "if" has been removed from ourprayer. Faith is ta be fully persuadedthat God will do as He has promised andno one is ever fully persuaded when theyadd to their prayer, "1£ it be thy will."Since God has revealed His will in thismatter by His promises, to say "If it bethy will" when praying is the same asto say, "If it be thy will to keep thypromise."

SOME BREAK NATURAL LAWS

The fourth reason I assign for thefailure .of some to receive healing is thebreaking of natural l'aws. Let it be remembered that the natural laws are God'slaws and as divine as His miracles. Natureis God in action but not miraculously. Some who are weak because of theirignorance of natural laws are not supplying their bodies with the required nourishment. A man may be overeating whileasking God ta heal him of stomach trouble and thereby hindering the answer tohis prayer. After God had revealed Himself as Jehovah Rapha, our Healer, theconditions were that the people observethe laws .of sterilization, .recuperation, quarantine, etc., as outlined in His 'lawto the people. There are times when sufferers who are ignorant .of dietetics andother simple requirements need the adviceof a physician who is enlightened in thismatter.

Fifth-Some are not healed because .ofunbelief on the part of the elder or theminister who prays. Christ's disciples, divinely cammissianed to cast out devilsand heal the sick, failed to deliver theepileptic and when Jesus came dawn fromthe mountain He gave deliverance and rebuked the disciples for their unbelief.

Sixth-Some are not healed becausetheir affliction is the wark of an evil spiritwhich must be cast out. Some, becauseof ignorance on this matter, are prayingfor healing when the afflicting spiritshould be cast out. Jesus did not heal theepileptic disease but He cast (jut the epileptic spirit; He also cast out the deafand dumb and blind spirit. He says to

us, "In my Name they shall cast autdemons." Haw many times we have seenpeople instantaneously delivered the mament we rebuked the afflicting spirit, merely speaking representatively in Christ'sName or by His authority!

SOME CONTINUE IN SIN

Seventh-Some fail to receive healingbecause they regard iniquity in their heart.Such ought to learn to say with David,"If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lordwill nat hear me." God has not promisedto destroy the works of the devil in .ourbody while we are clinging to his worksin our soul. Unconfessed sins hinder people from receiving God's mercy. HisWord tells us, "He that covereth his sinsshall not prosper but whaso confessethand forsaketh them shall obtain mercy."

Eighth-Lukewarmness is one of thegreat hindrances in this Laodicean periodof the church. After Christ was glorifiedHe sent down the message, "I w.ouldthouwert cold or hot. So then because thou artlukewarm and neither cald nor hot I willspue thee out of my mouth." The bestthing for us is to be red hot for God andthe next best thing is to be cold, but theworst of all is to be lukewarm. He saidHe would spue them out. Lukewarmnessis a much worse disease than cancer, therefore, God wants ta heal it first. Hehas promised and is waiting to heal ourbacksliding and flood our hearts with Hislove, and then God says, "Because he hathset his love upon me therefore will I deliver him." Serving God with gladness andcheerfulness of heart was the condition forhealing in the Old Testament times. Surelythe standard aught not to be lowered inthis day of grace.

Ninth-Sickness and affliction are permitted to remain on some as a halter withwhich God leads them into the center ofHis will and then the halter is removed.1£ God took the halter off too soon, manywould run away and rab themselves of the.pleasure of living out the divine program. It is impossible to pray the prayer of faithto get the halter off from some who areunwilling to be led into the glorious center of God's will.

AN UNFORGIVING SPIRIT

Tenth-An unfargiving spirit, or holding a grudge hinders some from receivingthe Lord's healing. Jesus said, "If yeforgive not men their trespasses, neitherwill your heavenly Father forgive yourtrespasses." The first thing we need andthe first thing God wants to grant us isthe forgiveness of our sins, but we cannotbe forgiven when we will not forgiveothers. Haw many times we have seen theafflicted healed in the twinkle of an eyewhen they were ready to forgive those whohad wronged them! .

Eleventh-Wrongs unrighted hinder thefaith of some to receive healing. Thosewho have wronged their neighbor in anyway must ask his forgiveness. We haveknown many who were terribly afflictedwha were healed as soon as this was dane.

Twelfth-Some have no purpose and nodiligence when seeking God for healing. He is the rewarder of them that diligentlyseek Him. We have known sufferers toundergo as many as 'a dozen or moreoperations without any positive promise.of their being well. And yet, many incoming to God for healing, whioh Hepositively promises, do not come with anything like the diligence shown by thosewho apply for earthly help.

DON'T CONFINE GOD TO MIRACLES

Thirteenth--Many in this day, becauseof not being sufficiently instructed, failto be healed by endeavoring to canfineGod to miracles. Because they are notwell arid strong in 'an instant they castaway their confidence. God differentiatesbetween miracles and healing. 1£ everyman, wasted with disease would be strongand well in a moment, there would be nohealings for they would 'all be miracles.Paul, in enumerating the spiritual gifts, speaks of gifts of healing and alsa ofmiracles. Christ could do no miracle inNazareth because of their unbelief, butHe did heal a few sick ones. This is avery common hindrance to healing in thisday when there is so little teaching anthe subject.

Fourteenth-Some wax weak in faithby watching their symptoms instead .of

waxing strong in faith, like Abraham, bylaoking unto the promise of God. Theymake their feelings the basis for faithrather than God's Word which He hasmade its only basis.

Fifteenth-Others fail because they donot act their faith. "Faith without worksis dead." It is not God's turn to moveuntil we have faith with correspondingactions. The literal translation of Mark1:22: "Have faith in God," is RECKON ON GOD'S FAITHFULNESS.

Sixteenth-Others, when tested, castaway their confidence, failing to see thatby the test, as with Abraham, their faithshould be perfected. We are made partakers on the condition that we hold thebeginning of our confidence steadfast. Ifthe Word of God is the reason for ourfaith, then it is never right to cast away.our confidence.

Seventeenth-Some fail to receive healing by neglecting to receive the Holy Spiritwho is sent to execute for us the blessingsof redemption. Paul, in Romans 8:11, tellsus that our mortal (not actually, thoughjudicially dead) bodies (also) are to be

THE ANGELIC VISION

Page 12

(Continued from Page 3)startled me again, as I knew of no onewho w,ould be coming there besides myself. Now, coming through the light, I sawthe feet of a man coming toward me, asnaturally as you would walk to me. Heappeared to be a man who, in humanweight, would weigh about two hundredpounds, clotilied in a white wbe, had asmooth face, no beard, but with dark hairdown to his shoulders, rather dark-complexioned, with a very pleasant countenance, and, coming closer, his eyes caughtwith mine, and seeing how fearful I was,he began to speak. "Fear not! I am s,entftom the presence of Almighty God to tellyou that your peculiar life and your misundersto'od ways have been to indicate thatGod has sent you to take a gift of divinehealing to the peoples of the world. IFYOU WILL BE SINCERE, AND CANGET THE PEOPLE TO BELIEVE YOU,NOTHING SHALL STAND BEFOREYOUR PRAYER, NOT EVEN CANCER."Words cannot express how I felt. He toldme many things which I do not have spaceto record here. He told me how I wouldbe able to detect diseases by vibrations onmy hand. He went away, but I have seenhim a number of times since then. He hasappeared to mt!, perhaps once or twicewithin the space of six months, and hasspoken with me. A few times he has appeared visibly in the presence of others."

HEALING TO BE TAKEN TO THEPEOPLES OF THE WORLD

Perhaps the most striking part of 'theangel'scommissi'on was that Brother Branham's ministry was to be available to allwho would believe his testimony. So ourbrother understood it. He has felt the callto minister to all groups that believe inDivine Healing. We are sure that churchorganization is necessary for the preservation of God's work. But let no man assumethat his circle represents all of the Kingdom of God upon earth. Every reader hasmet those who mistakenly think that theybear sole authority to preach and ministerthe gospel. This is, of course, an error, yet even the apostles made this mistake onone occasion. They fo,r,badea man to healthe sick because he did not join the apostolic company. But notice the Lord's gentlerebuke:

"And John answered him, saying,, .Master, we saw one casting out devils

in thy name, and he followed not us;and we forhade him because he followed not us. But Jesus said, Forbidhim not: for there is no man whichshall do a miracle in my name, thatcan lightly speak evil of me. For hethat is not against us is on our part."(Mk. 9:38-40) ..Church organization is necessary to pre

serve ,the work of God, and let no manspeak evil of governments. Such arenecessary and Scriptural (I Cor. 12:28).Neither should any assume that one par·

ticular organization bears sole authQrityto preach the Gospel. Let us, like Paul, rejoice wherever Christ is preached. "Whatthen, notwithstanding in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ ispreached; and I therein do rej oice, yeaand will rejoice" (Phil. 1 :18). BrotherBranham has understood from the angel'swords that his ministry was to be to allwho would receive him. Not only for thehealing of the individual, but perchanceif possible, to help in the healing of theBody of Christ, His Church.

ANGEL SPOKE OF THE SOON COMINGOF CHRIST

Another fact of significance was thestatement of the angel to Brother Branhamthat Christ was to return to the earth very'soon. Surely this is significant. Everyevidence of the days in which we live pointto the fact that the times of the Gentileshave run their course, the end of the age isnear and the Retqrn of Christ is at hand.Undoubtedly Brother Branham's ministrywill have and already has to some extent, some part in preparing the hearts of. thepeople for the Coming of the Lord. Christprayed that His disciples and all believersthat should come after them should becomeone even as He and the Father were One.May God grant that though we be not onein outward organization, we may be onein spirit, in purpose and in fellowship.

DETECTION OF DISEASES

The angel also mentioned to BrotherBranham that he should be able to detectdiseases with his left hand. Sometime afterthe visitation, our brother took hold of thehand of a woman with cancer. Instantlyhe felt, as it were, little needles strike hisflesh, and fora moment wondered whatthis meant. ~hen he remembered thewords of the angel, and knew that whathad been said had come to pass. Everydisease has a peculiar pulsation of its own,and because of this, Brother Brenham isable to diagnose the· different types ofdisease. The writer having witnessed manyhundreds of such cases which have heendiagnosed, has been impressed hy the remarkable accuracy of the diagnosis. Ofcourse, the diagnosis does not heal theperson. The actual healing comes throughfaith in the power of the Name of Jesus. The time taken for the diagnosis of a comparative few is really for the benefit ofthe entire congregation rather than for theindividuals themselves. It helps to buildup the faith of the sick people and causesthem to realize that the Gift of God ispresent to heal.

A LATER VISIT By THE ANGEL

Notwithstanding, at a later time, theangel of the Lord appeared again and toldBrother Branham that the people shouldnot build their faith ,too much on outwardsigns and miracles. This was indeedScriptural advice. People need to get theirfaith founded upon the Word of God. Weare reminded of the words of the Lord

May, 1948

Jesus when He said to the people of Hisday, "Except ye see signs and wondersye will not believe." Only a limited fewcan be ministered to in the performanceof miracles. These miracles are for thepurpose of strengthening the faith of thesick ,and to cause them to realize that the"Power of the Lord is present to heal."While a limited number may be healedthrough miracles, a multitude may hehealed by their believing and standingupon the WOTd'of God. It is signifi.cantthat there have been cases with whomBrother Branham took considerable time, yet these failed to maintain complete healing, while many who were barely touchedby him as they passed by in the healingline were marvelously and completelydelivered.

THE ANGEL'S RECENT MESSAGE TOBROTHER BRANHAM

Recently the angel again appeared toBrother Branham. He was told that heshould give much of his time to prayerand waiting upon God, and that he shouldnot dissipate his strength by spending toomuch time in conversation with people. Many wish to converse with our Brotherpersonally. His friends number hundredsof thousands, but he was told that if hisministry was to be as effective as it shouldbe, he must give a great portion of histime to waiting upon God.

The visitation of an angel is calculatedto profoundly ,affect any life. It is rightthat men should reverence a messengerthat comes from the presence of God,though in no sense to worship him. Worship is for God alone and prayer is to bedirected to God only. John the Belovedwith all his knowledge of God twice attempted to worship an angel (Rev. 19:10,22:8·9>' But in both cases was told, "Seethou do' it not." An angel is only a messenger of God. Brother Branham's desireas well as that of the angels is that manmay learn to humbly worship God andHim only.

Why All Are Not Healed(Continued from Page ll)

quickened by the Spirit that dwelleth in(not out of) us. Since our bodies are thetemples of the Holy Ghost 'Und the HolySpirit applies the healing, we might sayHe is the Carpenter who repairs the house. Some are consciously keeping the carpenter outside of the house while asking himto repair it on the inside. Paul said, "Thebody for the Lord" before he said, "TheLord for the body." We should presentour bodies a living sacrifice and let thembecome the temples of the Holy Ghost ifwe want them healed. This reason forFailure does not usually apply to thosewho are untaught as to their privilege ofbeing filled with the Spirit.

Eighteenth-Some will not believe thattheir prayer for healing is heard untilthey 'see the answer. Christ has not prom·ised that our healing should begin untilafter we believe th'at He has heard ourprayer. (Mark 11:24) .
