Assessment 1
Class Presentation
Research and present to the class a portfolio of an Australian artists activities in
the music industry. The artist should be similar to your area of specialisation
and be current. Your presentation should be documented with evidence of your
findings. Each week you will have to give evidence of your research on the
previous weeks subject matter.
Pass Criteria:
A history of the artists musical and cultural background
A history of all releases by the artist, how they were recorded and
produced.
A description of the infrastructure built around the artist such as,
management, labels, publishers, agents and promoters both in Australia
and overseas.
Recent and past promotional campaigns, press releases, print media,
radio and television appearances, advertising and online activities
What kind of festivals and venues the artist has been performing at
Where the artists tracks are being played such as radio, advertising, film
and television appearances
Other collaborations the artist has been involved in
Who owns the copyright of the artist work being the song writing royalties

Assessment 2
Plan a five week short course in music performance in your area of specialisation
for an adult at a beginner level. You must provide lesson plans and evaluation
sheets for both learner and yourself as a teacher. Due weeks 3 & 10

Develop learning programs that incorporate sound educational
principles
Assist learners to develop music knowledge appropriate to their level of
musical development and requirements in area of specialisation

Assistlearners to develop technical skills in performance
Demonstrate and rehearse techniques with learners for the care and
maintenance ofequipment, instruments and accessories
