2019 OPERATING RESULTS (unaudited)
During 2019, Scouts from across WLACC had a huge impact in both the local and international communities.
Provided 60,495 hours of volunteer and community service valued at $1,538,362.42. The annual Council food drive gathered more than 41,000
pounds of food which was distributed to local food banks and shelters throughout Los Angeles County.
After seeing the devastation from monsoons in the Philippines, Eagle Scout project of the year recipient Zachary Moore jumped into action and fundraised
to gather materials to send care packages to more than 100 kids at a local Filipino school. The care packages contained critical supplies for them to
continue to live as normal a life as possible.
At the annual Memorial Day flag placement, Scouts placed more than100,000 flags on the graves of those service men and women who made
the ultimate sacrifice for our Country.
Our Scouts wrote more than 10,000 holiday cards sent to service men andwomen overseas, and raised more than $50,000 to send pallets of popcorn
to troops through Operation Gratitude.
In the second year of Scouts BSA, the Council had 996 female Scouts in 16troops, and in 2020 WLACC will have its first ever female Eagle Scout.
To cap it all off, Scouts from WLACC were in the national spotlightperforming the Opening Flag Ceremony at a televised Los Angeles Dodgers game.
These are just a few of the many incredible accomplishments of the Scouts of the Western Los Angeles County Council during 2019. We thank all of those that gave their time, generosity, and passion to help make this possible, and look forward to a successful 2020 and another great year serving the community.
