1899a Philippe Suchard –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Close to the end of the nineteenth century the company of the Swiss chocolatier Philippe Suchard (1797-1884) issued a set of twelve chromolithographic trade cards, which featured maps of the countries of Europe: Austria/Hungary; Belgium; British Isles; France; Germany; Italy; Netherlands; Portugal/Spain; Russia; Scandinavia; Switzerland; Turkey. ese untitled maps are in rectangular panels at the left of the card with their topography in the language of the individual country. To the right, circular designs include costume figures and scenery. e cards measure 110 x 70 mm. with the printed area 106/7 x 66/7 mm. and the rear with Suchard advertising. Close to the end of the nineteenth century the company of the Swiss chocolatier Philippe Suchard (1797-1884) issued a set of twelve chromolithographic trade cards, which featured maps of the countries of Europe:

Austria/Hungary; Belgium; British Isles; France; Germany; Italy; Netherlands; Portugal/Spain; Russia; Scandinavia; Switzerland; Turkey.
