Event OverviewThe Africa Agri Tech three-day business-to-business exhibition and parallel conference and workshop programme will connect industry suppliers with agricultural producers enabling them to explore the impact of science and technology on improving food production in a sustainable manner.

The conference will interrogate how the implementation of technological advances across the production cycle can lead to more efficient and profitable farming whilst conserving the environment and resources. Future trends are explored clarified and discussed.

Drawing on global innovations Africa Agri Tech provides a platform for agricultural suppliers to introduce and demonstrate new techniques, equipment and services to producers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Africa Agri Tech further aims to sensitise the industry on rapid and ever-changing trends market demands across a number of sectors, ranging from product and production through to manufacturing, processing and packaging, exports and retail demands.

RationaleThe pace of change is accelerating rapidly, driven by substantial advances in computing power, data analytics and availability of much wider connectivity.

The agricultural sector in South Africa has to guard against lagging behind other countries in respect of the productivity gains associated with digitalisation.

Conditions are ripe for suppliers of products, services and technology within the agricultural sector to accelerate their customers’ ability to capture productivity gains by taking advantage of the power of Big Data and new technologies.

Africa Agri Tech draws on the need for the agricultural industry to embrace the power of rapidly evolving technologies to ensure increased output and growth. The event will focus on how all sectors of the agricultural industry can exploit technology to improve production, processing, packaging and transport.
