I want to thank everyone (residents, fami-lies, and staff) for being so gracious to me as your new Executive Director in my first month here at Skylyn. I can assure you that everyone in this community is vitally im-portant to our success! I want to reiterate my availability to residents, family members, as well as staff. There will of course be times that I’m on an important corporate call or in a meeting, but overall I’m available! I can promise that I will listen and be involved with the issues that concern you; I’m not promising that everything will be perfect all the time, but I will sure work hard to make sure your needs are met. I was taught a long time ago, “Leaders who don’t listen will soon find themselves surrounded by people who have nothing to say.” I want the input of the people I work with and work for; that’s

you! I want to take this opportunity to en-courage all of our residents to participate as much as possible in our Life Enrichment Program! At Skylyn we are blessed to have the leadership of Brittany Cobb along with her assistant Abbey Ewing who find ways to engage our residents every single day! We are also very fortunate to have Joe Davis now leading our Legacies residents in Memory Care through enriching activities. There is never a need to be bored at Sky-lyn! If you want to exercise, play games, read, visit pets, or simply relax in a rocking chair on the porch with a good book; we have it here! Get that body moving! Join us for our Exercise Class! It is offered Monday-Friday at 10:00 A.M. in apartment 232. The class lasts for 30 minutes. You are welcome to participate at the level that you feel most com-fortable. The exercises that are part of the program con-sist of sitting exercises, standing exercises, and weight exercises. Our inner courtyard also provides a walking trail. Take a walk out to the courtyard and enjoy some fresh air and exercise all at the same time. There are also benches and seats along the way, if you feel the need to take a break during your walk.

Norman Band (06/07), Chaplain San-dra Smith (06/14), Ordained Deacon Glenn Cobb from New Pleasant Baptist Church (06/21), and Rev. Julie Schaaf from Nazareth Presbyterian Church (06/28). Catholic Communion provid-ed by St, Paul the Apostle Catholic Church will take place every Friday at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel. Jenny Evans also leads devotions every Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. in the common area of second floor Independent Living. Be sure to join us!
