NeedsUpdating practicing physicians and other health professionals in both the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases/conditions is essential to providing quality care leading to improved patient outcomes. The goal of this activity is to review current as well as emerging medical therapies and to outline the most e�ective ways to integrate this information into clinical practice.

Target AudienceGastroenterologists, hepatologists, internists, family physicians, nurses, physician assistants, medical trainees and students.

ObjectivesAt the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:

• Summarize the role of behavioral therapy in IBS• Distinguish various endoscopic resection techniques based on indication• Describe esophageal motility disorders• Classify new medications for treatment of Crohn’s disease• Discuss the role of fecal microbiota transplant in diarrhea treatment• Identify the features of acute on chronic liver disease• Review the current treatment algorithms for viral hepatitis

Baylor College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Baylor College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The presentation, Ethical Considerations in Novel Endoscopic Techniques, has been designated by Baylor College of Medicine for 1.0 credit of education in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility.

ABIM MOC Points

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 12.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certi�cation (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

Nurse

Nursing contact hours have been applied for through the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Physician Assistant

This program is not yet approved for PA CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 12.25 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME credit from the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Total number of approved credits yet to be determined.

Cancellation/Refund PolicyRequests for registration refunds must be in writing and received by the OCME at least 10 business days before the activity begins. Cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee deducted from the registration fee paid to cover guarantees and other expenses. Requests should be mailed to the OCME or faxed to 713.798.7955.

The OCME reserves the right to cancel activities, not less than 10 business days before the scheduled date, if extenuating circumstances make it necessary. Registrants will be noti�ed at the contact number indicated on the registration form followed by written noti�cation.
