Egypt exists now as it did back in

Joseph’s time. Today, it’s a big

country where the pyramids still

stand.

Jacob had twelve sons, but Joseph was his favorite.

Jacob treated Joseph better than all his brothers. It

make the brothers hate Joseph.

His brothers sold Joseph as a slave, and told their dad

that Joseph had been killed by a wild animal. Oh no!

Joseph lived as a slave in Egypt for a long time, but

God was with him, and soon, he was the second most

powerful person in all of the land.

Then Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to ask for help.

Joseph thought, “I could get even with them for what

they did to me.” But he didn’t.

“I forgive you,” Joseph said. “What you did was

terrible, but God made it turn out for the best.”

Joseph’s brothers hugged him and cried. “We’re so

sorry, Joseph! Thank you for loving us anyway!”

Jacob gave this gift to Joseph. It was so pretty but made Joseph’s brothers jealous.
