Susanne Morsch is the CEO of the Stefan-Morsch-Stiftung, a charitable

non-profit foundation that established Germany’s first unrelated stem cell

donor registry in 1986 (more than 450.000 donors in 2018). For more

than 30 years, the foundation has been working with transplant

physicians sharing the experience in donor and patient support. Susanne

is a Certified Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator (CHTC) with more

than 15 years of experience in the search for unrelated stem cell donors.

She has built the foundation’s “International Search Center” to help

transplant centers around the globe to identify the best-matched unrelated

donors for their patients in the worldwide database. In addition, she holds

a degree in social economics -Sozialwirtin (FH)- and is member of the

World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) and the European Group for

Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT).

He started his career in 1970 as a junior Clinical Biochemist at one of

Damascus Hospitals, followed by several positions including Manger

and Director of various Medical Laboratories in Damascus, Syria. In

1992 he was appointed as Director of the Supply Department at the

Military Medical Service. In addition to his official public positions, Dr.

Shannan has maintained his professional work in his Private Laboratory

in Damascus. At the same time, he worked as a lecturer for postgraduate

students at Damascus University and the Ministry of Health. He is

involved in various Scientific and Professional Committees and/or

Working Groups for the Evaluation of Laboratory Equipment for

various Ministries in Syria including the Ministry of Health, the

Ministry of Higher Education and the Military Medical Service. He was

appointed by WHO/EMRO and the Ministry of Health to chair the

National Committee of Quality Assurance in Medical Laboratories in

Syria. He is also, a member of the Accreditation Committees at the

Ministry of Health.

BIOGRAPHY:

Rajendra Chaudhary is an MD in Pathology and currently the

Professor of Transfusion Medicine at the SGPGIMS in Lucknow,

India. (www.sgpgi.ac.in) He has interests in immunohematology,

platelet serology and clinical transfusion medicine. He was a member

of Global Blood Safety Network, WHO & Technical Resource Group

of National AIDS Control Organization, New Delhi.

He has received many coveted fellowships including JICA fellowship

for training in peripheral blood stem cell transplantation in Japan, and

fellowships from Tel Aviv University and Geneva University,

Switzerland for training in thrombosis and hemostasis. He also has

undergone training in transfusion medicine at Prince of Wales

Hospital, Sydney and the Mayo Clinic, USA

Tehran University and PhD studies from Modares University School of

Medicine. She is Faculty Member of Hematology and Blood Banking
