A Vehi&ular #d'Ho& !etwork, or V#!(T, is a form of Mobile ad-hoc network, to provide

communications among nearby vehicles and between vehicles and nearby fixed equipment,

usually described as roadside equipment. InA!"#, or Intelligent ehicular Ad-$oc

!etworking, defines an Intelligent way of using ehicular !etworking. InA!"# integrates on

    multiple ad-hoc networking technologies such as %i&i I""" '().** b+g, %iMA I""" '().*,

luetooth, I/A, 0igee for easy, accurate, effective and simple communication between vehicles

on dynamic mobility. #he feasibility of A!"# was 1ustified, the 2ity 3ection Mobility Model

was appended in !3), the network model of A!"# was established, the simulation scene was

compiled, the performances of 434, 43/, two classical routing protocols of MA!"#, and a

novel routing algorithm M546/, were simulated in A!"#. Although there are many proposed

solutions for routing in A!"#, it is still unclear as to what specific characteristics A!"#

routing protocols should possess, since none of the proposed solutions achieves optimum

performance in both urban and highway, as well as sparse and dense environment. #o shed light

on these issues, we analy7e some of the most important 8o3 metrics in A!"#. A vehicle in

A!"# is considered to be an intelligent mobile node capable of communicating with its

neighbors and other vehicles in the network. &or configuring the vehicle with a unique address,

there is a need for address reconfigurations depending on the mobility patterns, we have

    presented a centrali7ed addressing scheme for A!"# using 4$29 :4ynamic $ost

    2onfiguration 9rotocol;. y building up a 9)9 overlay network on top of A!"#
