The coated 1-¼” x .120” Ring Shank 15o Wire Weld Coil samples were delivered by Miami-Dade Product Control to HETI on March 23, 2016. The non-coated Roofing nails were delivered via DHL Directly to Hurricane Engineering & Testing, Inc. on April 4, 2016 from Qingdao Golden Sunshine Metal at Products Co Ltd, Jiaobei Industrial Park Jiaozhou Ingdao China.

TEST DESCRIPTION The samples were tested to meet Miami-Dade County requirements per checklist #0195 for corrosion resistance per ASTM G 85, Annex 5, and 140 cycles as detailed in TAS 114, Appendix E. A group of five samples was mounted in a fiber glass plate, placed in the bottom channel and were placed in the chamber. Samples were delivered by Miami-Dade Product Control to HETI on March 23, 2016.

Conclusion

The samples of Ring Shank 150 wire weld Coil Roofing Nails were tested in accordance with Florida Building Code TAS114 Appendix E Section 2 ASTM G 85, Annex A5. The samples were examined after 140 cycles (280 hours) and were found to have less than 5% surface corrosion, meeting the requirement of TAS 114 Appendix E section 2.6.1.1 of Florida Building Code for High Velocity Hurricane Zone. NOTE: The above results were obtained using the designated test methods, which indicates compliance with the performance requirements of the referenced specifications. This report does not constitute certification of the specimens tested.
