Day 1: Australia - - Delhi Depart Australia today on your flight to Delhi (please note, some flight may depart 1 day before). You will arrive at New Delhi International Airport. Delhi is a food-lovers haven and has something to please every palate. Day 2: Delhi (B,D) After breakfast we head out for a tour of the Old City of ‘Shahjahanabad’, founded by one of the greatest Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. We then undertake a Food Tour in Old Delhi passing through the narrow alleys visiting the famous paranthewali-gali and other street-food vendors who have been selling local delights for many generations, before you head to visit the majestic Jama Masjid mosque. Continue on a cycle rickshaw to visit Asia’s largest spice market Khari Baoli. Savour the sights, smells and sounds of the fabled streets, operating spice businesses since the 17th century. This evening we go to a local residence where your friendly host will talk and indulge you in an interactive cooking demonstration. Experience the art of Indian cooking with a specialist and learn the techniques used to create the local cuisine. Later, relish a delicious meal which you have helped to prepare as the instructor talks about Indian culture, values and traditions. Day 1: Australia - - Delhi

Day 2: Delhi (B,D)

After breakfast we head out for a tour of the Old City of ‘Shahjahanabad’,

Continue to visit Qutab Minar; the tallest stone tower in India built to establish the might of

Islam and onset of Muslim rule in India and Humayun’s Tomb, the first great example of a

new distinctive style, which developed to become the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty.

After we return to the hotel, the rest of the evening is at leisure.

Optional Tour: Dilli Haat – Food & Crafts Bazaar. The first ever permanent crafts market

showcasing India, housing within its premises a delightful amalgam of craft, food and cultural

activities. The stalls showcase a kaleidoscope of the richness and diversity of Indian handicrafts and

artefacts and the food plaza enables visitors to savour the inimitable flavours of gastronomic delights

from the various regions of India.

Day 4: Delhi - - Lucknow (B)

Today we head of early to the railway station to catch a train to Lucknow. The capital city

of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, the erstwhile Awadh or Oudh still preserves the spirit of the

past era. Equally divided by the Gomati River, this city has grown as a metropolitan after a

constant effort for two centuries. The Nawabi culture is reflected in the leisurely habits, the

architecture, etiquette, mouth-watering cuisine and elegance. On arrival we enjoy a tour of

the city visiting Shah Najaf Imambara, the tomb of Nawab Ghaziuddin Haider, and his

family is housed in this majestic white domed building. The tombs are plated in silver and

gold and the interiors are ornate with floral designs and chandeliers. Also visit the Jama

Masjid, this grand mosque was built by Muhammad Ali Shah in typical Mughal style with

tall minarets and onion-shaped domes; Lucknow Residency built during 1780-1800, it was

once the political residence of the British officials and Husainabad Picture Gallery, located

near the Husainabad Tank houses portraits of the rulers of Awadh. Tonight we embark on

a culinary walking tour of Lucknow. Lucknow is one place that has a colony of chefs called

‘Bawarchi Tola’ and then there is a full street where one can find the best from Lucknow’s

very own kitchens. We take you for this evening tour and allow you to hop-in, hop-out of

the traditional roadside eateries.

Day 5: Lucknow - - Agra (B)

This morning is free time to explore Lucknow at your own pace before heading to Agra.

This afternoon we make our way to the train station to board our train to Agra - home of

the Taj Mahal! On arrival the rest of the afternoon is free to explore Agra at your own pace.

Optional Tour: Watch the pro’s in a cooking demonstration. Most of the dishes and cooking style of

Lucknow is inspired by the Mughals, who had spent some time in Persia after their defeat in the

Third Battle of Panipat. What the Mughals introduced was Mughlai cooking, adapted from the

Persian way of cooking. Awadhi cuisine includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights

prepared in exotic spices and garnished with dry fruits. After the demonstration we get to enjoy

tasting the dishes over lunch.

Day 6: Agra (B,L)

This is it, the big one! This morning we head for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. Referred to

as one of the wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal in Agra is the epitome of tourism in

India and is celebrated for its architectural magnificence and aesthetic beauty. A symphony

in white marble, a tribute to eternal love, it was built by the Emperor Shah Jahan in

memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. After watching the sunrise, there is time to wander the

grounds of the Taj Mahal and savor the moment. We then proceed Agra Fort, an

outstanding monument of Mughal architecture and the seat and stronghold of the Mughal

Empire under successive generations. The afternoon is at leisure before a street food tour

sampling Agra’s most famous snack (chaat) and other eateries from the skilled street

vendors.

Tour Operator: Enjoy a very special Peshawari lunch. This unique restaurant with a slightly

rustic ambiance and very personalized service, celebrates, authentic North West Frontier Cuisine.

The food can be served in traditional brass and bronze while eating with hands is encouraged.

Day 7: Agra - Jaipur (B)

We leave Agra behind us today and make our way by road to the Pink City, Jaipur.

Enroute visiting Akbar’s abandoned capital, Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri was built by

Mughal emperor Akbar in 1571 in honour of the Sufi saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti. It was the

Mughal capital for 14 years after which it was abandoned due to paucity of water. It is

made of red sandstone and combines influences from both Hindu and Mughal architecture.

Even to this day, the entrance to the fort is through the road that Akbar built which leads to

the Buland Darwaza, a huge 54 metres gateway. Upon arrival in Jaipur, proceed for check-

in at your hotel, the rest of the afternoon if free to explore this vibrant city at your own

pace.

Day 8: Jaipur (B,D)

Today we head to the Amber Fort. Construction of Amber Fort started in the 17th century.

Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. We

continue to on a walk around Amer Town. The town around Amber Fort consists of

beautiful small temples and a step well called Panna Meena. Amer was a flourishing

settlement originally occupied by the Meena tribe. Explore this atmospheric ancient town

as you pass numerous historic temples, havelis, water harvesting structures amidst the

natural beauty of Aravali mountain range. Tonight, familiarize yourself with India’s

historically dignified roots, you will meet and interact with a noble family of Jaipur over a

cooking demonstration and meal. The symbol of Rajasthan’s royal culture, these families

reflect an exceptional past of living with an elaborate code of honour and chivalry. Enjoy a

first-hand narration of their ancestral cooking techniques as you enjoy authentic delicacies.

Day 9: Jaipur (B,D)

Following breakfast, enjoy a tour of the Pink City, an “abode of rajahs”. The highlights of

the tour include a visit to the City Palace Museum, which has a superb collection of

Rajasthani costumes, and armory of Mughals and Rajputs including swords of different

shapes and sizes with chiseled handles. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in the colorful bazaar of the

old city. Also visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with a

spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and

spires. Later today, participate in a heritage walk focusing on local eat-outs and hidden

gems. Starting from the massive Tripolia Gate, make your way through the bustling lanes

of Jaipur as you walk past the beautiful old temples and painted havelis to reach the Albert

Hall Museum. Wander through the Ghee Walon ka Rasta, an entire street dedicated to

eating is heaven! Sample a large variety of Indian savoury snacks including samosa,

kachories and pakoras followed by traditional sweets at a heritage sweetshop LMB.

Tonight, meet a chef for a casual chit-chat over dinner to satisfy your inquisitiveness on

Indian cuisine so far.

Day 10: Jaipur - Deogarh (B)

After breakfast, we drive to the charming hamlet of Deogarh. On arrival we check in to the

Deogarh Mahal. This heritage hotel is a restored fortified palace! It was converted into a

hotel by the present owner Rawat Nahar Singh and a part of the Mahal is still occupied by

his kin. The family is closely associated with the hotel which has made Deogarh a

benchmark of Heritage hospitality in Rajasthan.

Day 11: Deogarh (B,D)

Today we explore the intricate mosaic of Rural and Royal Deogarh - colourful villages and

understand the ancient bonding of the feudal lords with their subjects. Unravel the treasure

and view the private Vintage Car Collection with one of the members of the feudal family

(subject to their availability) followed by a village walk. Catch a glimpse of the humble

surroundings and ancient traditions and customs. Watch cooking of Indian Rotis (breads)

on a traditional cooktop at a village house. In the evening, we go to the local market to

select vegetables and ingredients for dinner and indulge in a culinary experience of the

Royals. Flavour the Mewari cuisine as you enjoy a cooking demonstration and dinner

typical to the resident feudal family.

Day 12: Deogarh - Ranakpur - Udaipur (B)

Today our journey continues to Udaipur. Enroute we stop at Ranakpur. Ranakpur Jain

temples boast of some of the exquisite and intricate friezes and sculptures. The main

Chaumukha (four faced) temple was built in 1439 and is dedicated to the first enlightened

one, Adinatha Rishabdeva. We then continue to Udaipur. There is no city in India, which

appeals more to the imagination of poets and painter, travellers and writers than the

exquisite city of Udaipur. Surrounded by the Aravalli Hills, a city of lakes and palaces,

Udaipur is an oasis in the desert.

Day 13: Udaipur (B,L,D)

After breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Udaipur visit the City Palace, which

stands on a hill on the banks of Lake Pichola, surrounded by crenulated walls. Built in

1567, it is composed of 4 major palaces and several minor palaces that form a single façade.

After, we enjoy a Boat ride on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. Lake Pichola derives its

name from Pichola Village, with the City Palace extending along its eastern bank and the

Jag Niwas Island and Jag Mandir enclosed in its vast expanse. Maharana Udai Singh

enlarged the lake after he founded the city of Udaipur. Continue to witness the unique

private collection of vintage cars of the House of Mewar - the world’s longest serving

dynasty. See the display of the magnificent Rolls-Royce, 1939 Cadillac open convertibles &

rare Mercedes models. Relish a vegetarian thaali lunch experience within the elegant

complex. Later this afternoon, meet a chef for a casual chit-chat to satisfy your

inquisitiveness on Indian cuisine experienced so far before a walk through the colourful

spice market in the Old City. Browse through the shops selling vibrant and aromatic spices

and get a glimpse of the wide array of items on display. We then enjoy a Boat ride on the

placid waters of Lake Pichola before enjoying a farewell dinner in a local restaurant with a

dramatic setting and farewell your fellow travelers.

Day 14: Udaipur - - Delhi (B)

This morning is free time in Udaipur to explore the city at your own pace. Later, you will

be met at your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival the

evening is at leisure.

Optional tour: Trek Udaipur—Experience Udaipur a bit more by exploring the outskirts of this

city of lakes. Hike through charming villages and hamlets, and meet amiable villagers who are

extremely hospitable. Enjoy the company of an effervescent guide who will tell you stories about

these places.

Day 15: Delhi - - Australia (B)

This morning is free time in Delhi to explore the city at your own pace or quickly get some

last minute shopping in before you are transferred to the airport for your flight home.

Day 16: Australia

Arrive home today.
