TULSA HIGHLIGHTS
Renaissance The Tulsa population is growing and more diverse. New development is thriving (e.g. the BOK Center and ONEOK stadium) and the city’s street infrastructure is improving. This renaissance offers investors a ready-position to capitalize in the upsurge.
Tulsa Area Schools Oklahoma ranks No. 1 in the nation in early-childhood education, and the state and Tulsa area public schools are national leaders in the number of board certified teachers. In addition to the Tulsa Public School system, private and parochial systems within the Tulsa metro area also offer complete PreK - 12 programs. (Source: Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, 2010) Higher Education and Technical Training Tulsa is the seat of the University of Tulsa, The University of Oklahoma/Tulsa, Oklahoma State University/Tulsa, Oral
Roberts University and Tulsa Community College along with several other institutions of higher learning. TU and ORU both compete in Division 1 athletics.
Many area technical schools offer specialized training in a range of fields including culinary arts, medical and dental care, cosmetology, automotive, welding, electronics and computer technologies and landscape maintenance and design. Tulsa Young Professionals Upon graduation, the City of Tulsa is working with Tulsa’s Young Professionals group to attract and retain the next generation of citizens and leaders. The group has 5,000 members.

TULSA HIGHLIGHTS
The city of Tulsa offers a number of entertainment options to its residents and tourists and has invested in new venues and favorite cultural spots including: The BOK Center Opening in September, 2008, Tulsa’s 19,199-seat arena houses the WNBA-franchise team, the Tulsa Shock and Double A professional hockey team, the Tulsa Oilers. BOK Center concerts have featured Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Tim McGraw and Celine Dion.
ONEOK Field ONEOK Field, home to the Tulsa Drillers, the city’s Double A affiliate of the 2007 National league Champion Colorado Rockies, opened in April 2010. The $60-million-ballpark project which included the acquisition of the surrounding
land for mixed-use redevelopment is located in Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District. River Parks Tulsa’s River Parks runs adjacent to the Arkansas River, the north-south tributary with more than 26 miles of surfaced recreational (e.g. hiking, biking, and running) trails. The park’s landscape ranges from manicured lawns to the ruggedness of the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area with picnic areas, playgrounds, fountains and sculptures. The Arts and Culture
Art Deco
During the 1920s, Tulsans enjoying the wealth from big oil wanted local architecture to reflect the modern, progressive city they knew as “home.” As was the style of the time, Art Deco architecture can be found all around the city. Many buildings were designed in the zigzag, Depression Era (PWA) and Streamline Art Deco styles evident in the period. Of these, Tulsa’s Boston Avenue Methodist Church was named by the Secretary of the Interior as a U.S. National landmark in 1999. Tulsa Museums Tulsa is home to several unique museums including the Philbrook Museum of Art, with an impressive collection of Italian painting and sculpture, Native American baskets and pottery and 18th and 19th century oil paintings. Additionally, the Gilcrease Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of American Western art. The works of Remington, Russell and Moran highlight more than 50,000 artifacts. Performance Arts The Tulsa Performing Arts Center offers live performances of local productions along with national touring shows. The Tulsa Opera and Tulsa Ballet are favorites in performance art. Both boast loyal season subscriber bases and corporate support.
The BOK Center hosts top-rated entertainment and is home to the city’s new WNBA team, the Tulsa Shock.
