Project History: 1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Construction on the 15th Street NW Safety Improvements project officially began when the owner, District Department of Transportation DDOT issued the Notice to Proceed NTP on 24 August 2015 and Capitol Paving, the General Contractor for the project, is working on the construction work with an initial value of $2,856,350.50. CPDC change order no. #2 for $74,219.08 was executed on 05/15 resulting in the total construction value of $2,930,569.58. BREE & Associates Inc., the CM, joined the project team on April 27, 2015 as a consultant to provide Consultant Management Services to assist the Construction Team for the District of Columbia Department of Transportation, Infrastructure Project Management Administration (IPMA). CM Task Order #2 was issued (4/28) for $293,712.00 extending the time to 9/30/16; total funding $989,384.10.

Project Description: The scope of the construction will be performed in 3 stages (1, 2, and 3) which include the following:

• Implementation of sediment and erosion control measures during construction. • Implementation, monitoring and maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian traffic for

the duration of the construction period. • Removal of existing basins and installation of new standard manholes, curb opening,

and grate inlet basins. • Replace existing PCC sidewalk, curb & gutter and install new wheel chair ramps. • Mill and overlay existing pavement & construction of new asphalt pavement & new

asphalt pavement on aggregate base course and permeable layers. • Traffic Signal System Integration & street lighting. • Construction of Best Management Practice including Micro Bio-Retention. • Planting of street trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, groundcover and turf grass. • Installation of new trash receptacles, benches and bike racks. • Installation of drain system & furnish, set and remove existing fire hydrants. • Miscellaneous activities such as pavement marking, trees fence, conduit & wiring,

Street light poles, push button, PCC Alley driveway and install permanent signs.

Work by Others: The PEPCO manhole replacement or vault adjustments activities will be done by others approved by PEPCO. The BREE CM team will coordinate all these activities with the Contractor and PEPCO. The Vibration Monitoring Services for the historical Church will be done by third party Engineering Consulting Service (ECS) and BREE CM team will coordinate these activates with DDOT and the third party consultant.

2. STATUS OF CONSTRUCTION / PROGRESS SUMMARY

1. BREE continued to review MOT, site safety issues, and pedestrian/bike safety throughout the project site. The DDOT MOT inspector walked the job and gave instructions and suggestion of what area needs to be fixed. BREE and CPDC installed correction immediately.

2. BREE followed up on the coordination for Power Activation for the intersection of 15th St, W St, Florida Ave and New Hampshire Ave.

3. BREE followed up with coordination of As-Built drawing production, checklist, content, and details.

4. BREE coordination with DDOT Storm water Management for planting inspection (M. Upchurch, M. Abe).

5. Coordination review CPDC payment No. 12 and August Summary of Quantities. 6. BREE CM coordinating with CPDC for fabrication (Long Fence) of tree box fencing and quantities 7. BREE CM coordination with CPDC for Two week Look Ahead. 8. BREE coordination pipe sewer TV inspection. 9. BREE Coordination review, inspection DC Line stripping.

Community Outreach Activities

1. Maintained the Stakeholder Database.

3. ISSUES / ACTION ITEMS Ongoing & New Issues / Items:

1. DC Water Change Order approval. 2. MC Dean targeting activation of the Streetlight and signals, MC Dean is waiting for response to

their request to PEPCO. 3. Scheduling fencing fabrication, installation, and quantity reconciliation.

4. DAILY WORK PERFORMED Monday September 12th 2016

Crew worked at various locations replacing and installing permanent traffic signs. Crew paved roadway at intersection W St. and 15th St. NW. DC Line placed crosswalk lines at V St. and 15th St. NW.

Tuesday September 13, 2016 CPDC worked at various locations, installed permanent signs. DC Line stripping the 8 crosswalks at intersection of 15th St. and New Hampshire Ave. and W St., and Florida Ave.

Wednesday September 14, 2016 CPDC continued permanent sign placement. DC Line continued stripping roadway arrows, lane dividers, bike lane markers, and parking lane indicators.

Thursday September 15th 2016 CPDC crew continued working installing permanent signs and replacing old signs. Crew continued stripping roadway arrows, lane dividers, bike lanes, and parking lanes. F&F crew started planting scrubs, vine and ground cover at PMB No. 11A, 11B, & 11C along 15th St. and planters- eastside of 15th St.

Friday September 16 2016 CPDC continued replacement of permanent traffic signs. The crew furnished and installed 6” #57 stone

and paver at opening of curb cuts along bio retention cells BMP 1A, 11B, and at check dams downstream. F&F crew continued planting at bio retention cells-BMP2 at south side of V St, BMP38, north side of V St., BMP 19-southside of W St. and planters on 15th St., and at BMP 28 at Florida Ave.

5. INSPECTION & MATERIAL TESTS PERFORMED
