owned large retail businesses. Examples: Vishal Mega Mart, Big Bazaar, Wills Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop,

Reliance Trends, Spencers, Reebok, Nike, Catmos, Lilliput, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Barista, Cafe Coffee

Day, Koutons, Cotton County, Peter England, Titan, Raymonds, Sony, Samsung, Next, LG, Apollo

Pharmacy, etc.

Big Air-conditioned Shopping Malls having large no. of Multi-brand, Multi-category product Outlets,

Food-Plaza, Games-arena, a Multiplex/ Cinema Hall and many other facilities.

Traditional/Unorganised Retailing, on the other hand, refers to the traditional formats of low-cost retailing,

for example, the local kirana shops, independent grocery shops, owner manned general stores, provision

stores, flea (Thadi) markets, paan/beedi shops, convenience stores, hand cart and pavement vendors, Mom

and Pop Stores, local sabji Mandi, general readymade garment shop or a footwear shop, weekly haats,

general Electronic shop etc.
