HS Confirmation/Youth Ministry Program All teenagers in the parish are welcome to participate in the Confirmation program. If you are not baptized but are interested in youth fellowship, all teenagers (9th to 12th grade) are welcome to participate in our program as

well. We offer retreats, classes and days of prayers. We usually meet twice a month in the Youth Bungalow from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The confirmation program is a two year program. Lack of funds is not a reason to miss out on the program or any of our activities. In the event of need, please contact Rebekka directly. On Sunday, February 3, World Day for Consecrated Life and Boy Scout Sunday, the Youth Ministry Group/HS Confirmation Group will meet from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Youth Bungalow to look at the different ways we prepare for the “Lenten Season.” We will also attend the 12:00 Noon Mass as a group. Please join us. Youth Ministry Group and all are welcome. For more details, please contact Rebekka Vieira at: [email protected].

LA Catholic Worker Community (LACWC) Mayonnaise Sunday - January 26-27

Next weekend, January 26-27 is Mayonnaise Sunday. Now that the holidays are over, the LACWC hopes that we will continue to remem-ber all the homeless and hungry in LA and everywhere. Envelopes are available at the entrances to the church. Many blessings!

St. Euphrasia Church Celebrates Fiftieth Anniversary: We will celebrate our Fiftieth Anniversary on Saturday, February 2 and there will be hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and fellowship beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 7:30 p.m. There will be music and danc-ing throughout the evening. The Sanctity of Life! On January 22, we will observe the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision (Row vs. Wade) that permitted abortion throughout our country, virtually unobstructed. The Supreme Court decided two cases that have resulted in the deaths of tens of millions of

unborn babies. Also, Doe vs. Bolton legalized abortion throughout pregnancy in 1973. These decisions allowed the death of as many as one of three children born in following generations and made abortion legal up to the day of birth in all 50 states! While this is a moment to reflect upon the 55 million unique human lives that have been lost during these years, we cannot take time to be somber people. Instead, we need to come together and advocate for an end to the most important human rights issue of our day. Abortion takes the lives of more people around the world than any other social injustices. For example, Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortion in the U.S., performs one abortion every 91 sec-onds and last year received over one-half billion dollars of U.S. tax dollars. Never let us tire in our struggle to save the lives of God’s smallest children and pray this prayer for the Helpless Unborn: Heavenly Fa-ther, You create men in Your own image and You desire that not even the least among us should perish. In Your love for us, You entrusted your only Son to the Holy Virgin Mary. Now, in your love, protect against the wickedness of the devil, these little ones to whom you have given the gift of life.

“for my soul is wearied because of them that are slain.” (Jeremiah 4:31)

Dear Parishioners: The Parish has recently established a new Finance Council which will act in an advisory capacity to our Administrator. The names of our new members will be published in a subsequent bulletin. Beginning in February, we will also publish our weekly collections by-monthly and our operating expenses at the end of each month. If there are any questions or comments, please forward them in E-mail ([email protected]). Thank you, Reverend Larry Neumeier
