Please submit your prayer requests to the office by 5 p.m. on Fridays

My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with deep saddness that I share with you the full text of

an email I received telling of an awful attack Monday on

the Catholic Church in Oklahoma. It contains an appeal to

you to join Catholics around the country in prayers of

reparation.

“Archbishop Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City has called for

fervent prayers from the global Catholic community in

reparation for the blasphemous acts of a "Black Mass"

conducted by an organized satanist group on the Feast of

the Assumption, Monday, August 15, 2016. The ceremony

took place at the Civic Center in Oklahoma City and was

deliberately timed to mock the Marian feast day. In addi-

tion to the public desecration of the Most Holy Eucharist,

the satanic ritual included the grotesque desecration of a

statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The satanic ceremony

was led by registered sex-offender Dastur Adam Daniels

who told Oklahoma City News that the Catholic Church

was infringing on his religious liberty by attempting to

block the ceremony from taking place.

Archbishop Coakley told the Catholic News Agency: “I am

encouraging the faithful and people of good will to pray

together for healing and peace, and for the Lord to watch

over our community and protect us from evil and its many

destructive and violent manifestations. I also ask that we

pray for the conversion of these men and for all who have

not yet come to know the Lord of Life.” The Archbishop

went on to express his disappointment in the local

government for not preventing the “abhorrent act” from

taking place, despite the 150,000+ signatures petitioning

local authorities to intervene.

In response to this prayerful request due to these most

disturbing events, we will be having a Solemn High Mass

in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Monday,

August 22 at 7:00 pm. This Holy Mass will be offered as

a special act of reparation for these most serious sins of

sacrilege against the Sacred Heart Jesus and against our

Blessed Mother Mary. Holy Mass will be preceded by the

recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 6:30 pm and will

conclude with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Let us also pray for the poor souls that are perpetrating

these blasphemies. I urge you to invite your family

members, your friends and other fellow Catholics to join in

this act of reparation.”

For the honor of our Mother in heaven, show your filial

love for our Most Blessed Lady, and join us Monday,

August 22, in consoling her Immaculate Heart!

May God’s Blessings be yours this week. Father Ireland

A Ministry of

Compassion &

Reconciliation

Catholics Returning Home is a

program coming to Sacred

Heart of Jesus on September 8th, that is designed to invite

non-practicing Catholics to return “home” to the Church

and resume active practice of their faith. Six (6) weekly

sessions provide up-dated information on the basics of

Catholicism in a non-threatening, support-group format.

Were you raised Catholic but don’t practice regularly?

Are you a Catholic who feels separated from the

Church?

Do you want to know more about today’s Catholic?

Do you want to feel “at home” in the Church again?

No matter how long you have been away and no matter the

reason, we invite you to renew your relationship with the

Catholic Church. Please join us for informal listening

sessions and an update of the Catholic faith. All sessions

are held at ...

Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish

1545 South Green Road ~ South Euclid, Ohio 44121

in Mary’s Room (off the vestibule in the back of Church).

Follow the signs and look for Greeters to assist you.

For more info call Deacon Dave Chordas (216.382.7601).

Registration is appreciated, but not required. Participants

may invite an active Catholic to accompany them.

For at least a decade, the Catholic Men’s Fellowship of St.

Gregory the Great, now Sacred Heart of Jesus, has met on

the second and fourth Saturdays of every month to feast on

the Word of God (and a delicious breakfast prepared by the

hands of our fellow members), to give praise in song and in

prayer and to share life with all its blessings and challenges

with Christian and Catholic men from our neighborhood.

On Saturday, August 27, Deacon Richard Woods will be

our featured guest speaker. Deacon Richard will offer his

reflections on the importance of music in our Eucharistic

Liturgy. We look forward to welcoming him.

At 7:30 to 8 a.m., join us in Mary’s Room for coffee, a

light breakfast and fellowship. From 8 to 9 a.m. Deacon

Richard will instruct, inspire and lead us to increase our

faith using music to fill our hearts with God’s message.

Please Join Us … and Bring a Friend.

Parishioners, families, and Friends:

It is with your support and the dedication of countless families, teachers, and staff that Corpus Christi Academy will open

our doors to nearly 270 Preschool-8th grade students on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. This past week the hallways and

classrooms were filled with joy, laughter, and hard work by the dedicated and energetic staff of around 30 teachers, aides,

office personnel, maintenance workers, and auxiliary personnel. On Wednesday, you will hear a bagpiper and drums as well

as see a large group gathered outside the school for a prayer service and ribbon cutting by Fr. Ireland and Fr. Klasinski who

made CCA possible! Please continue to pray for the faculty, staff, and student body as we embark on a journey to inspire, to

excel, and to serve.

As we commence on this inaugural year for CCA, we seek to be one with the parishes of Saint Clare and Sacred Heart of

Jesus. If you have any ideas you would like to share about how CCA can connect with your parish, please email

[email protected].

God Bless,

Ken Mitskavich

Principal

Open PSR registration for the coming year

continues. Tuition remains $100/family,

regardless of the number of children in the

family. Families with children who will

enroll in grades 2 or 8 (the sacramental

If you have not yet enrolled, please do so as

soon as possible.

An Open House is planned for Sunday,

September 11, at 10 a.m. in the gym of the

Parish Family Center. This event will

provide you and your student(s) an

opportunity to visit the classroom, meet the

teacher and hear an overview of the coming

year. Mark your calendars … you don’t

want to miss out on this important

orientation.

Regular classes begin on Sunday, September

18. Classes are from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

We ask all parents to consider bringing their

children to Church for the 11:30 a.m. Mass

before heading home.

God grant us a year filled with grace and an increase in faith and wisdom.
