The Reality
We often live mundane, boring and predictable lives, just like Mr Walter Mitty.
The Truth
We are made for an Adventure. The “Walter Mitty Life” is meant for us.
Adventure of FaithThe
Made for the AHeb 11: 8-16:8 By faith Abraham, when called to
go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he
did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised
land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs
with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations,
whose architect and builder is God.
Made for the A11 And by faith even Sarah, who was past
childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him
faithful who had made the promise. 12 And so from this one man, and he as good as
dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on
the seashore.
Made for the A13 All these people were still living by faith when
they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed
them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a
country of their own.
Made for the A 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to
return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not
ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Made for the A: 1
We are foreigners and strangers of this earth.
Our home is a HEAVENLY ONE.

The greatness of your Adventure is proportionate to your FAITH in God.
What are we on earth for?
If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is
since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they
have become so ineffective in this. C.S. Lewis
17 Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you
have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with
tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god
is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly
things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord
Jesus Christ, (Phil 3:17-20)
What is the reward that awaits us?
“… ‘What is the use of climbing Mount Everest?’ and
my answer must at once be, ‘It is no use.’ But otherwise
nothing will come of it. We shall not bring back a single
bit of gold or silver, not a gem, nor any coal or iron. We shall not find a single foot of earth
that can be planted with crops to raise food… What we get
from this adventure is just sheer joy. And joy is, after all,
the end of life.” George Mallory
Our Reward is
JOY
23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been
faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the
joy of your lord.’
Matthew 25:23
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily
ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before
us,2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that
was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Will your life this year be an adventure of Faith?
Will the Father’s Joy be your greatest desired reward?
