When it comes to innovation, we are stunned by all the improvements that are brought to the table, particularly

when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Who would have thought that laser energy could also be used in with

rhinoplasty? If this is something new to you, here are some interesting facts about laser rhinoplasty. Maybe

you could find this appropriate for your case. Laser rhinoplasty is a non-surgical procedure that makes use of CO2 lasers to remove the excess thickness

of the nasal skin and other deformities. It doesn’t necessarily re-shape the nose like the traditional

rhinoplasty but rather it treats problems such as skin conditions affecting the area, skin discoloration due to

acne, and in removing nasal scars. You might think that this isn’t really a real rhinoplasty

when it actually doesn’t even require ay mechanical methods to change the shape and size of the nose. But

did you know that there is a condition such as rhinophyma where the nose develops excess skin which

can create a deformity? To effectively eliminate the excess skin without all the incisions and blood involved, a laser rhinoplasty is most helpful.

couple of weeks before going into this procedure.

The CO2 laser works by creating superficial damage to

the nasal skin as the beam is focused on the target area. With the introduction of a local anesthesia, you will

only be able to feel warm and tingly sensation. The type of damaged that happens here is very minimal focusing

only on the superficial layers. It will just be enough to create a more facially appropriate nasal form.

As the nose heals for the next few days, the damaged skin will soon start to shed off revealing a smoother skin

underneath. And during this sensitive period of healing, it is important that you avoid sun exposure if you don’t

want to risk your nose from getting discolored. Generally, the healing time is much lesser and a post-

operative care regimen isn’t even necessary. But to ensure that your nose is much protected as it

heals, it is just like taking care of a sunburned skin. Avoid unnecessary touching and do not rub or scrub if

The usual cost of laser rhinoplasty is

around $2,000 to $3,000, and because FDA (Food and Drug Administration) classified this to be a cosmetic surgery and

not something for medical purposes. This is the reason why it is not covered by

insurance providers.

Usually a nose job or what is also known as rhinoplasty is a surgical

the nose or to correct deformities.

Rhinoplasty has been the common procedure that has been performed in

the United States along with breast implants, liposuction and tummy tucks. In fact it remains to be one of the usual

The popularity of this procedure steadily

increases since the nose is one of the prominent features of the face and surprisingly so many finds it not

The 15-minute nose job cannot be a

permanent solution compared to surgical nose jobs. Since fillers eventually

dissolve, they need to be retouched time and again. But just as rhinoplasty needs the careful manipulation and expert skills

of the surgeon, 15-minute nose jobs also require the good aesthetic judgment of the

surgeon. The right amount and proper

placement is very important.

These 15-minute nose jobs are not so bad; in fact it is cheaper compared to nose job

cost. But they just need to be redone to maintain the results. They are perfect for

individuals who only needs minor repair and not those who require structural

changes to repair difficulty in breathing. These cases would need a more invasive reconstruction through rhinoplasty.
