    commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates fromLakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced

    by 2cms.

    (ii) Visual Standards: The minimum acceptable visual acuityare: Distant vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myo-

    pia of not more t han minus 1.5 including Astigmation. Candidateswho have undergone or have evidence for having undergone

    Radial Karatotomy to improve the visual acuity will be perma-

    nently rejected. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgeryfor Correction of reflective error are NOT acceptable.

    (iii)To be passed fit, a candidate must be in good physical andmental health free from any d isability likely to interfere with the

    efficient performance of duty.

    4. METHOD OF SELECTION:(a) Shortlisting of Applications and SSB Interviews: Initial

    checking "of applications will be done at Additional DirectorateGeneral Recruiting, Army Hqs. Only eligible candidates will be

    called for and assessed under aeg is of Selection Centres, namely

    Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psy-chologist, Gro up Testing Officer and I nterviewing Officer. Candi-

    dates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Cen-tre is at the discretio n of Army Headquarters and no requests of

    changes are entertained in this regard.

    (b) Two Stage Selection Procedure: Two stage selectionprocedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test is field at Selec-

    tion Centres. Al l the candidates will face stage one test on first

    day of reporting at Selection Centres. The candidates whoqualify in stage one will be admitted to the second stage/re-

    maining tests. Those who fail to pass stage one will be re-turned on the same date.

    5. MEDICAL EXAMINATION: A candidate recommended by theService Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by

    a Board of Service Medica Officers. Women candidates will

    undergo Medical Examination by a Medical Board comprisingmale/female, doctors/specialists/Gynaeocologist. There wi ll be

    a Lady Medical Officer as member of Board. The proceedingsof the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to

    anyone. However, candidates declared unfit by the Special

    5. GENERAL INFORMATION

    NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP:

    A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan

    or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of

    permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan,

    Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania

    (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, E thiopia and Vietnam w ith the inten-

    6. HOW TO APPLY:6.1 Candidates should carefully read the instructions in this EmploymentNotice for filling up the Application Form in the f ormat enclosed at Annexure I on a good quality

    white paper of A4 size using ONE SIDE only. The candidates have to fill up r equired information

    6.13 In column No.12 the Physically handicapped candidates should indicate by ticking in theappropriate box for their type of disability. In column 13A, PH candidate will write the percentage

    of disability as per, the disability certificate. Other candidates should leave co lumn no. 12.12A and

    13 blank.6.14 In column No. 13 the Visually handicapped candidates / those candidates whosewriting speed is affected by cerebral palsy who are allowed to avail the assistance of scribe for
