Hello,

this publication has been created to coinside with the 14m ²

exhibition taking place at Bonzo from 9th to 17th December. As

a team we have worked very hard to organise this show, starting

from scratch and ending with an experience we will never forget.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped us in creating

14m ² including Karl and co at Bonzo as well as our sponsors.

Finally thank you to all of you who have followed our progress,

helped to publicise the event, who have come along to the pre-

view night and public viewings and to the readers of this publica-

tion. Without all of you 14m ² would not have been the success it

is.

A note from the 14m ² team

Words from Billie Cawte

The 14m² exhibition consists of 14 photography students from

the University of Portsmouth. As part of their degree they are

required to curate an exhibition from scratch; picking and gaining

a location, raising funds, organising the display and all the other

elements required for such an event. The work featured in the

exhibition is based around the theme of territories; these spaces

can be as large or as small as they wish, with the dimensional,

territorial and geographical boundaries flexible. The various

photographers will be displaying their work in ways that best nar-

rate their idea, including projections, installations and prints. The

exhibition will be on display for 7 days at Bonzo studio.

On the opening night preview, expect a friendly atmosphere at

Bonzo studio where you can chat to the photographers and enjoy

entertainment in the form of an acoustic set by one of the exhibit-

ing photographers, Alice Chidgey. Portfolios of each photogra-

pher will be on display to browse through, allowing the chance to

enjoy a wide variety of their work.

During the following week, the exhibition will be open to the

public and each day at least two photographers will be at Bonzo

studio to talk about the work and answer any questions you may

have had. These times will be available from the opening night at

Bonzo or found on the 14m² Facebook group.

The exhibition will take place from the 10-17th December at

Bonzo studio, with an opening night preview on 9th December

from 6 – 9pm.

The Studio

Bonzo is a creative workspace seated in the heart of Southsea, Hampshire. The studio exists to encourage col-laborative working, networking and education in the cre-ative industries by offering hot desk rental, special events, workshops and more.

We are a professional graphic design studio with a new approach to working - our studio is open, rentable and fun. Our creative melting pot consists of our small team of designers/developers, freelancers, students and apprentices.

Karl, Owner of Bonzo, has made the experi-

ence of curating an exhibition extremely

enjoying. Allowing us to use our creativity

to ogranise a fantastic exhibition and we

hope to spread the word of Bonzo across

Portsmouth.

Brilens Ltd have been very helpful in the construction of the

14m² exhibition, aiding in the production of the exhibition

t-shirts as well as printing the large photographic stickers for

one of the exhibiting photographers.

Owner Brian Curtis and illustrator Stuart Linfield have been

extremely supportive through our various requests, advicing

the best way to create a design for the t-shirts and the cheap-

est way we could have appealing tops, enabling us to keep

the cost down while looking professional.

All of 14m² are very grateful for the staff of Brilens time and

effort.

Brilens Ltd was established in 2004 and grown from a simple

screen print service to offer all manner of garments and

paper media.

We welcome visitors to our print shop in Southsea, where you

can view the different print finishes we can produce.

At Southsea Gallery we aim to offer you a complete gallery

Art Prints

We stock a fantastic range of prints within the gallery which

include: Bold & Noble, Kozyndan, Keep Calm Gallery and

Vintage Posters including wartime and railway prints. If you

are looking for a specific print we will do our best to source it

for you.

If you are ordering online all prints are wrapped in acid free

tissue paper and sent in a sturdy tube by First Class recorded

delivery. Next day delivery can be arranged at an additional

cost.

Framing

We hold a terrific stock of hundreds of ready made frames

from 6x4” to 70x1000mm. In addition, If you need a frame

which is not a standard size, we have a bespoke framing

service with over 140 frame styles to choose from all with

refreshingly low prices. We can also frame medals, football

shirts, programmes and magazines. For pricing please see

the Gallery Price Lists section of the website.

Mounts

We hold a range of standard mounts for our readymade

frames. In addition, we have over 100 colours to choose from

in our mount cutting service.

We are open Tuesday - Saturday 10am-6pm and are situated

opposite the Kings Theatre in Southsea
