Now with more than 50 rides,

including the Colossus and

Cannibal, Lagoon is a pinnacle

of fun and entertainment in

Utah. In addition to the rides,

guests can enjoy the Lagoon A

Beach waterpark, historic

Pioneer Village, dining, activities,

and more.

Adams Canyon is one of the most popular hiking trails in Davis County. Not only is it easily accessible to visitors, but it features a spectacular 40-foot waterfall at the end of the trail, which offers a great way to cool off before heading back down.

Today, David County is home to nine public golf courses and one private country club, each one featuring majestic views of the Great Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains. Visitors can get the Davis County Golf Passport for access to all of the public courses.

...that Lagoon’s first thrill ride was called “Shoot-the-Chutes”? The ride opened in 1899, three years after the park was founded. Guests would board a flat-bottomed boat and take it down a ramp into a pond that locals called a “lagoon”, which gave the amusement park its name.

...that the George S. and Dolores

Doré Eccles Foundation Wildlife

Education Center was designed

to blend in with the local

landscape. The roofs are

covered with vegetation,

giving them the appearance

of rolling hills.

...that Adams Canyon was

named after Elias Adams, who

cut down trees from the canyon

to build his log cabin in 1852?

He and his son also built a dam

for the first irrigation reservoir in

the Mountain West.

The Wildlife Education Center opened at Farmington Bay in September 2018. The peaceful reserve offers visitors a gateway to the Great Salt Lake wetlands, educating them on the wetlands’ importance while protecting the many species that live and nest there.

The largest of the ten islands

found in the Great Salt Lake,

Antelope Island is home to a

variety of wildlife, freshwater

springs, and miles of trails for

hiking and biking. The millions of

waterfowl living on Antelope

Island make it an ideal location

for birdwatching.
