BLESSING of OUR MOTHERS

Let us pray for all of our mothers, living and deceased. Let us also remember those mothers – members of our extended families – that watched over us, offered words of sound counsel, and consolation. We also pray for mothers that have lost their child(ren) and those who do not have children of their own.

For our mothers, who have given us life and love, that we may show them reverence and love, we pray to the Lord. R.

For our adopted mothers, who have loved us as one of her own children, who have supported our families through all trials and moments of joy, we pray the Lord.

For mothers who have lost a child through death, that their faith may give them hope, and their family and friends support and console them, we pray to the Lord. R.

For mothers who have died, that God may bring them into the joy of his kingdom, we pray to the Lord. R.

PRAYER

Loving God, as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children, so you watch over your Church. Bless these women, that they may be strengthened as Christian mothers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

And by the prayers of the Blessed Mother, Mary, may almighty God bless them –

the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. R. Amen.

Oremos por todas nuestras madres, vivas y fallecidas. Recordemos también a aquellas madres - miembros de nuestras familias extensas - que nos vigilaban,

ofrecían palabras de sano consejo y consuelo. También oramos por las madres que han perdido a su (s) hijo (s) ya las que no tienen hijos propios.

Para nuestras madres, que nos han dado vida y amor, para que podamos

mostrarles reverencia y amor, rogamos al Señor. R.

Para nuestras madres adoptivas, que nos han amado como uno de sus hijos, que han apoyado a nuestras familias a través de todas las pruebas y

momentos de alegría, rogamos al Señor.

Para las madres que han perdido a un niño a través de la muerte, para que su fe les dé esperanza, y su familia y amigos les apoyen y consuelen,
