Entries in the showing section must enter from Felindre Rd. Lorries must park at the far end in the fenced off area. We are as usual

restricted for space and the stewards and Officials will be onsite to assist you. PLEASE abide by their guidance to ensure there is room

for everybody

Show Rules & Regulations

1. The show organisers reserve the right to refuse entries without assigning a reason

2. The show organisers have the right to cancel any part or the whole of the show.

3. No unauthorised persons shall enter the show or collecting rings.

4. The judges decision is final. All objections must be lodged in writing with the Section Secretary within 30 minutes of judging the competition involved. A deposit of £30 must accompany the objection, which will be returned if the objection is upheld by the Jury of Appeal.

5. Correct and safe dress must be worn at all times. Protective headgear must be worn at all times when mounted on any part of the showground. It is the duty of riders in the interest of safety to ensure that their headgear provides proper protection, is correctly fitted and remains in place.

6. All owners and riders (where applicable, parents or guardians) of horses/ponies competing in any event shall be deemed to be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the relevant breed or nationally recognised society.

7. Prize money must be collected from the Secretary on the day of the show, within 30 minutes of the close of the final class.

8. Each competitor, owner or where applicable parent or guardian shall be solely responsible for consequences of loss or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal in their care and indemnify the show organisers and Pencoed College, their officials, agents and invites against all liabilities, damage, actions, claims, proceedings, costs and or expense in relation to or arising from his/her presence at the show.

9. The show organisers, Pencoed College, their officials and agents cannot be held responsible for any accident, theft, loss or damage, however caused arising out of or at the show.

10.First Aid cover per horse or pony present is included in the entry fee for each class

11.Entries in all classes are restricted to horses and ponies registered with their National Breed Societies, unless otherwise specified.

12.All dogs MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES, otherwise they will be removed from the Showground.

13.No unauthorised persons may enter areas of the College campus not directly used in connection with the show activities. In particular no one must approach the stables or enclosures of the Colleges own horses or livestock.

14.In inclement weather all vehicles will remain stationary until a tractor is available to assist their exit.

15.The show uses stewards to ensure the safe running of the show, their advice should be followed at all times.

16.The show has a Health and Safety Policy which is available to all exhibitors. It is your responsibility to ensure your own safety and that of others by behaving in a proper and safe manner at all times.

17.The Committee retain the right to remove from the show field any person or animal whose behaviour is deemed to be unsafe.

One Wristband Pass for rider and a groom will be issued per entry. They must be worn in order to enter the Collecting Ring area .Whilst very effort will be made to keep within the time table Exhibitors are reminded that the time table is a guideline only, and that the Show Organisers reserve the right to alter Ring allocation or Timings as deemed necessary. The right is reserved that if there are insufficient entries to amalgamate classes, or to divide oversubscribed classes if numbers dictate IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY Of the Exhibitors to be on the show ground 1 hour before the

allotted time of their class. Classes will not commence prior to their NOT BEFORE time .

Exhibitors must be able to produce on demand Horse / Pony Passports.

All Unaffiliated Classes : Prizes 1st £10, 2nd £8, 3rd £5

Foals : Included in Class entry fee. Rosettes only for Best Foal

3 catalogued entries in class : First Place Prize Money only

5 catalogued entries in class : First and Second Prize Money only

6 or more catalogued entries in class : First, Second and Third Prize Money

YOUR CLASS AND ON PRODUCTION OF 1ST,2ND OR 3RD PLACE ROSETTE

Protective Headgear

Protective headgear must be worn by anybody riding a horse/pony for any reason. It is strongly rec-

ommended that hats to the standard PAS 015, EN 1384 or ASTM F1163 with either a kitemark of

SE1, correctly fastened, should be worn in all ridden classes. This includes all Judges who may be

required to ride and all grooms etc. riding outside the show rings. Any one not complying may be

asked to leave the showground.

Classic 2019, Equifest 2018 and BSPA 2018 . No membership is required to enter or compete in

any Championship Final

TSR Showing Finals : : This show is a qualifier for the 2018 Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY

of the Finals Central East Anglia, North West, North East, South Est, South, Wales & South West or

Scottish. You do not have to be a TSR Member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider / hander qualifies

and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals. TSR Riders Champs. 1&2nd placed riders

qualify and receive a qualification card in the ring. TSR In Hand Champs The two highest handlers

with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand Class. Handlers must have their cards signed in

Friday July 13th Ring 1 COMMENCING AT 10A.M VETERAN HORSE SOCIETY SHOWING SERIES—AREA QUALIFIER ENTRY FEES : £12.00/ CLASS

Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. VHS Final Qualification : All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members must have their showing card signed by the judge in the ring as proof of qualification. Non members will receive a red qualifying card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership. Regional Finals are open to members only. All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Championships—date to be confirmed. No qualification or membership is necessary. See VHS website for schedule 1 DIAMOND VETERAN IN HAND 25 years + over. Open to horses, ponies of any breed and height 2 VETERAN IN HAND 20—24 years Open to horses, ponies of any breed and height. 3 PRE VETERAN IN HAND 15—19 years. The Show is affiliated to CHAPS (UK) Ltd who offer a qualifier to the highest placed coloured horse or pony in In Hand and Ridden classes NOT BEFORE 1P.M. VETERAN HORSE SOCIETY SHOWING SERIES 2018 REGIONAL FINAL ENTRY FEES : £20.00/CLASS Pre entry as normal and entries for these classes will be accepted on the day BUT from existing members only. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. Only fully qualified Members holding a current VHS membership card and a VHS showing card with a valid qualification signature may enter, Both cards must be carried in the ring and produced on request. No exceptions will be made. VHS Supreme Final Qualification Competitors placed 1st and 2nd in each class will qualify for the corresponding class at the VHS Supreme Final, to be held at the National Veteran Open Championships, Arena UK, Lincolnshire. Dates to be confirmed .If the competitor has already qualified or does not wish to attend, they must refuse the qualification and pass it down the line on the day. VHS M&M Supreme Final Qualification . Foals must be a minimum of 3 weeks old on the day of the Show. There must be no colts or entire males in Young Handler classes. Children under 14 years old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in In Hand classes. Children under 12 years old on the day of the show may not show entire males in Ridden classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 years or under in In Hand classes. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring. Hard hats must be worn by all exhibitors, irrespective of age in ridden classes. Please enter at Secretary’s tent on the day to collect ticket CR1 Min 2’0” : Max 2’3 2p.m. to 3p.m. CR2 Min 2’3” : Max 2’6” 3p.m. to 4p.m. CR3 Min 2’9” : Max 3’0” 4p.m. to 5p.m. It is not necessary for entrants in clear round working hunter to wear showing dress. Arms must be covered, body protectors should be worn and hard hats, complying to current rules and regulations must be worn. Any competitor not complying with this ruling will be asked to leave the Showground. Competitors enter at own risk. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.

36 EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS OPEN QUALIFIER

Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current Member's Handbook. Open to S.S.A. Members and non- Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and S.S.A. Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed member aged under 14 on the 1st January of the current year. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show to the junior member, judged to be the best turned out. Juniors must wear Hats to current Safety Standard or above. Sir Lancelot Memorial Qualifier : A Special Rosette will be offered to the Registered Adult Member, carrying their current Championship Points Card, of the SSA area in which the Show is organised, who during the Equitation Qualifier Class (irrespective of final placing) is judged to be the most elegant. COMMENCING 9A.M. BSHA RIDDEN COBS, HACKS & RIDING HORSE Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association . Competitors and horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day Ticket. Horses registered with the association must be owned exhibited and ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older . REGISTRATION NUMBER MUST BE STATED ON THE ENTRY FORM. THESE ARE CHECKED WITH BSHA DAY TICKETS Non members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 day tickets per exhibitor, per horse per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Amateur ,Home Produced, In Hand , Novice, Working, Young Rider and Open Affiliated Classes only But will not allow entry into RIHS or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a day ticket do not require JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a day ticket by downloading an application form from the BSHA web-site .Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain classes at their affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hacks, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show on the same day and vice versa. The three highest place prize winners in all Open Affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme classes at the National Championship Show 2018.
