Design a brochure for a company with an original logo and at least 250 words of body copy, including a text wrap.
I decided to make a brochure for a fictional company that I think would be really cool. I looked on the web for stock photos of Rocky Mountain horses. I found one that would look really nice as the front of a gate fold, another that would be easy to cut out, and two more that illustrated the beauty of the breed. I measured the proper fold lines and used those as guides to design the brocure. I made a logo for the brand in Adobe Illustrator. I liked the circle shape from the logo, so I continued the shape throughout the brocure.

Design a webpage mockup for a fictional client, including organized layers.
For this project, I began with a business concept and logo I conceived in another class. I sketched a few layout ideas, then began making a wireframe in Adobe Photoshop. I played with alignments and colors before adding content. When I was satified with the layout, I found pictures and added the logo and type. Once everything was placed how I originally imagined, everything seemed cramped, so I did a lot of touching up to the layout. I also adjusted the colors to work with the photos better.

Use layer masks to blend two or more images to make one spiritually themed poster.
I knew I wanted to do a poster on the temple, so I found a picture of the most widely recognized one: the Salt Lake temple. I then thought it’d be cool to put a road leading to it. I looked for road pitures and came across this one with a little girl on it. She’s pretty cute, so I let her stay. I blended the temple onto the end of the road, and it needed something extra, so I added some clouds. The girl and the line were a bit too centered, so I moved them to the right a bit. As a finishing touch, I added an iris blur.

Design a flyer with a planned color scheme, featuring an original image and color swatches.
I brainstormed of a theme for my flyer and decided I’d like it to be inspirational in nature. I rounded up my daughter and younger sister to be models. After capturing an image I was satisfied with, I edited the photo in Adobe Photoshop and put it as a background in InDesign. I made the swatch flower in Adobe Illustrator, taking the main colors from the photo. I also made a small flourish to add along with the flower. I then added type, and adjusted the fonts, sizes, etc.

Make an original prezi presentation, with a new background and type.
I knew from the start of the project that I’d like to make a presentation on birdwatching with an entire backyard scene laid out. I sketched the background with the different slide elements, then set to work in Adobe Illustrator. After I was done with the background, I uploaded it to Prezi and added the slide order and type.

Design an original logo, and create a letterhead and two-sided business card around it.
This is a company I’ve been thinking about starting, so just in case I do, I thought I’d make a brand for it. I already had the name, so I started by sketched logo ideas and finding out which one other people liked. I went with the public’s opinion, but it was soon clear that it was too busy and complicated for easy consumer digestion. I completely remade it and chose a color scheme based on the playful feel of the company. I used the yarn ball and bold side panels as repeating elements.

Code a webpage, describing the process to create the logo from the business identity project.
I started out with very basic html and css skeletons. I typed in all the information needed on the html sheet, describing every thought process I had when making the logo. I then linked the external CSS sheet and began customizing it. I changed the colors to match my logo and brand; changed the typefaces to add interest; and added other elements, like a footer and border.

Design the cover of a magazine featuring you, including 3-5 interesting stories describing you.
The most challenging part of this project was getting a quality picture. After I got that and cut it out of its background, the rest came easier. I wanted an odd number of headlines, and three seemed a bit sparce, so I wrote five concise headlines and arranged them tastefully. For the title of the magazine, I played with alignment and tracking to make it look visually pleasing. I changed some of the words to red, rather than black. As a final touch, I added the gold border to tie in the whole design and color scheme.

Make an infographic with original graphics and at least one real statistic.
Hand-raising birds is so rewarding and fun, I thought other people might like an overview of how it’s done. To get started, I laid out a plan of action so I knew what colors to use, what information to incorporate, and where to put everything. I made a few graphics as I worked. After everything was on the ground, I rearranged the elements to enhance the flow.

Chirping: What does it mean?
Your baby bird will spend much of the day snoozing,
but you’ll often hear him chirping. This can mean one of a couple things:
Either he’s hungry, and it’s time to mix up some formula,Or... He’s lonely and wants some company!
Make sure to give your chick plenty oflove and attention so he gets used tobeing handled.
