Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) is a consultancy organisation under the Centre for modernisation of police forces. On 8 April 2016 Maharashtra cadre IPS officer Meeran C Borwankar was appointed as the Director General (DG) of BPR&D. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet appointed Borwankar as the organisation’s DG till 30 September 2017.

Airtel M Commerce Services (ASML) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airtel, which offers mobile money services under the brand name Airtel Money. On 19 August 2015, RBI had issued in-principle approval to 11 applicants to set up payments banks. On 11 April 2016 ASML, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, was granted the first payments bank license from Reserve Bank of India (RBI). All companies, which received in-principle approval from RBI in August 2015, will have to make their banks operational by March 2017.

On 12 April 2016 India and the US agreed on an “in principle” logistics exchange agreement to enable both militaries to use each other's assets and bases for repair and replenishment of supplies. This agreement includes; • To set up a new bilateral Maritime Security Dialogue between officials of defence and foreign affairs ministries • To enhance on-going navy-to-navy discussions to cover submarine-related issues • Both countries will deepen cooperation in maritime domain awareness by finalising a ‘White Shipping’ agreement in the near future.

Namami Gange Programme of Union Government is about, decrease in river pollution and to rejuvenate the Ganga. On 13 April 2016 Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation and German International Cooperation (GIZ) signed an Implementation agreement for Ganga Rejuvenation under the Namami Gange Programme. The ultimate goal is to adopt the successful river basin management strategies used for Rhine and Danube and replicate the same.
