JOB TITLE: Project Manager – Children’s Services

SALARY: £28,485 - £33,437

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Client Services

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Community based children’s practitioners, student placements and volunteers

HOURS: 37

LEAVE: 26 Days + Bank Holidays OVERVIEWIDAS provides a range of support services to children and young people including one to one support, group work and the Respect Young Person’s Programme. Our ambition is to develop innovative programmes in schools and colleges.

OVERALL OBJECTIVESTo oversee the delivery of IDAS’s children’s services across North Yorkshire ensuring that services are of a high quality and provided in accordance with best practice.

To manage a team of skilled practitioners providing regular informal and formal support and supervision.

To assist in the development of new services building excellent relationships with schools, colleges, social care colleagues and other stakeholders. PARTICULAR TASKS OF THE POSTHOLDER

Project Management and Service DeliveryTo ensure that children’s services are managed in line with agreed policies, procedures and standards.

To ensure individually funded projects are effectively managed in accordance with project plans and that agreed KPI’s and outcomes are achieved.

To ensure that children and young people are treated in a consistent, fair and empowering manner and to promote user participation in the delivery of services.

To oversee and help develop all our programmes of work including school work, community based support and refuge based children’s services.

To ensure that all safeguarding concerns are monitored and reported.

Staff ManagementTo provide regular supervision, line management and support to community based children / young persons’ practitioners.

To maintain an awareness of staffing levels, monitor annual leave and organise staff rotas to ensure that the refuge is adequately staffed at all times.

To organise and facilitate regular team meetings and peer support sessions.

To participate in the recruitment, selection and deployment of the project's staff and volunteers.

To actively manage the performance of staff utilising the Capability or Disciplinary Procedure where required.

To train, support and provide supervision to staff, volunteers and student placements.

Organisational DevelopmentTo participate in, initiate and influence the organisation’s policy making and its implementation in relation to children / young peoples’ services.

To actively seek out opportunities to develop new services, including identifying funding, ensuring that IDAS services remain at the forefront of development in relation to domestic abuse and sexual violence.

To oversee the development of programmes for children and young people.

To ensure that the views children and young people are embedded into the work of IDAS and to take full account of these in the development of new services.

Internal and External Liaison and communicationTo liaise with other agencies on behalf of the project organisation and clients and represent the wider interests of children and young people who are affected by domestic abuse.

To represent IDAS at a strategic level including chairing meetings, attending advisory groups and participating in local forum meetings.

To liaise with universities and external tutors with relation to student placements.

To ensure that community based services are monitored and evaluated and to provide reports to the Senior Management Team.

To positively participate in training, supervision and team meetings.

Finance & AdministrationTo ensure the adherence to agreed budgets and, within this specific area of work, to ensure that all resources, assets and monies are accounted for at all times.

OtherTo undertake other related duties that the Head of Client Services / senior management team require.

To cover for staff on an emergency or occasional basis.

To work flexibly to meet the needs of the project, including evening and weekend work.

To initiate and participate in fundraising activities on behalf of the organisation/project.
