Pray: Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I love, and in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63:3-4)
Whisper a prayer in the morning, Whisper a prayer at noon. Whisper a prayer in the evening, He will keep your heart in tune. God answers prayer in the morning, God answers prayer at noon. God answers prayer in the evening. He will keep your heart in tune.

How Often Should We Pray
1 Corinthians 1:4 I give thanks to
my God always for you because of
the grace of God that was given you
in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 6:18 praying at all times
in the Spirit, with all prayer and
supplication. To that end keep alert
with all perseverance, making
supplication for all the saints, Philippians 1:3-4 I thank my God
in all my remembrance of you,
always in every prayer of mine for
you all making my prayer with joy, Colossians 1:3 (KJV) We give
thanks to God and the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, praying always
for you, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without
ceasing

How Should We Pray
Psalm 66:17 I cried to him with my mouth,
and high praise was on my tongue. Psalm 95:2 Let us come into his presence
with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful
noise to him with songs of praise! Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) After this manner
therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in
heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy
kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as
we forgive our debtors. And lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever. Amen. 1 Corinthians 14:15 What am I to do? I
will pray with my spirit, but I will pray
with my mind also; I will sing praise with
my spirit, but I will sing with my mind
also. James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no
doubting, for the one who doubts is like a
wave of the sea that is driven and tossed
by the wind.

What Should We Pray For
Psalm 50:14-15 Offer to God a
sacrifice of thanksgiving, and
perform your vows to the Most
High, and call upon me in the day of
trouble; I will deliver you, and you
shall glorify me.” Psalm 118:25 Save us, we pray, O
LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us
success! Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of
Jerusalem! May they be secure who
love you! Romans 10:1 Brothers, my heart’s
desire and prayer to God for them is
that they may be saved. Romans 10:13 For “everyone who
calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved.”

Who Should We Pray For
Romans 15:30 I appeal to you, brothers,
by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of
the Spirit, to strive together with me in
your prayers to God on my behalf, 2 Corinthians 1:11 You also must help us
by prayer, so that many will give thanks on
our behalf for the blessing granted us
through the prayers of many. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge
that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgivings be made for all people,
for kings and all who are in high positions,
that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life,
godly and dignified in every way. James 5:13-14 Is anyone among you
suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone
cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone
among you sick? Let him call for the
elders of the church, and let them pray
over him, anointing him with oil in the
name of the Lord. James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to
one another and pray for one another, that
you may be healed. The prayer of a
righteous person has great power as it is
working.

Christian Quotes About Prayer
“Those persons who know the deep peace of God, the unfathomable peace that passeth all understanding, are always men and women of much prayer.”~ R. A. Torrey
“Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.” ~ Corrie ten Boom
“You may as soon find a living man that does not breath, as a living Christian that does not pray.” ~ Matthew Henry
“Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.” ~ John Bunyan
“We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.” ~ Oswald Chambers

Luther: Our prayer pleases God because
He has commanded it, made promises, and given form to our prayer. He requires it and delights in it, because He promises, commands, and shapes it....Then He says, "I will hear." It is not only guaranteed, but it is actually already obtained.

Morning Prayer In the morning when you get up, make the sign
of the holy cross…(Making the sign of the cross reminds us of our Baptism into the death and resurrection of Christ, who gave His life on the cross for our salvation.)
Romans 6:3 1 Cor 2:2 Gal 6:14, 17 …and say: In the name of the Father and of the † Son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Then, kneeling or standing, repeat the Creed
and the Lord’s Prayer. If you choose, you may also say this little prayer:
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over
me. Amen. (The Lord works through angels to
accomplish His will. A chief responsibility of the angels is to guard the righteous. Note: Angels are our fellow servants and cannot receive prayer or worship (Rev. 22:8-9).
Ps 91:11 Ps 103:20 Mat 18:10 Heb 1:14 Then go joyfully to your work, singing a hymn,
like that of the Ten Commandments, or whatever your devotion may suggest.
The Law of the Ten Commandments, the Gospel of the Creed, and the petitions of the Lord’s Prayer are the footsteps and breath of the Christian life. We daily breathe in the Gospel, we exhale the Our Father, and we walk in the Lord’s Commandments.
Deut 6:6-7 1 Cor 15:1-2 Lu 11:1-2 •
SS Morning
Evening Prayer: God commanded us to order our prayers around the daily rhythms of His creation so that the day’s events remind us to pray for Him.
Gen 1:30 2 Chron 13:11 Psalm 55:17 1 Thess 5:17 In the evening when you go to bed, make
the sign of the holy cross and say: In the name of the Father and of the † Son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Then kneeling or standing, repeat the
Creed and the Lord’s Prayer. If you choose, you may also say this little prayer:
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have graciously kept me this day; and I pray that You would forgive me all my sins where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this
night. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
Then go to sleep at once and in good cheer.
Through the sacraments we receive the forgiveness, life, and salvation God prepared for us in Christ. By the holy cross of Baptism we die to sin and rise with Christ. We daily confess our faults and rejoice in the Lord’s promise of forgiveness. Without the Lord’s Supper ,life is a fast. With the Lord’s Supper, life is a feast, a taste of heaven.

M Evening
How the head of the family should teach his household to ask a blessing and return thanks.
God’s first recorded words to Adam were about food and life. God richly and daily provides us with all we need to support this body and life. Therefore, we pause to bless His gifts through Christ.
Gen 2:16-17 1 Tim 4:4-5 Mt 14:13-21 Asking a Blessing: The children and members of the
household shall go to the table reverently, fold their hands, and say:
The eyes of all look to You, [O Lord,] and You give them their food at the
proper time. You open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. (Ps. 145:15–16).
Then shall be said the Lord’s Prayer and the following:
Lord God, heavenly Father, bless us and these Your gifts which we receive from Your bountiful goodness, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

T Blessing
Returning Thanks: Why return thanks to God after a
meal? Psalm 104:14-15 Psalm 104:29-30 The life of each plant or animal taken
for our table reminds us of the frailty of our own lives and our mortality. Therefore, we thank God for His gift of life, especially through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Also, after eating, they shall, in like manner, reverently and with folded hands say:
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. [He] gives food to every creature. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. His
pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of a man; the Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love. (Ps. 136:1, 25; 147:9–11)
Then shall be said the Lord’s Prayer and the following:
We thank You, Lord God, heavenly Father, for all Your benefits, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen

3 Guard us waking, guard us sleeping,And when we die,May we in Your mighty keepingAll peaceful lie. When the last dread call shall wake us,Then, O Lord, do not forsake us,But to reign in glory take usWith You on high.
