General

1. General Controls

q Power On/Off Press knob q momentarily to turn the radio on or off. Via Steering wheel remote control: Pressing and holding the MODE button on the steering wheel controls will turn the radio on or off.

q Volume Up/Down Turn knob q right to increase the volume level. The level will be shown on the display. Turn knob q left to decrease the volume level. After 3 seconds the display will return to the previous mode.

q Start-Up Volume Setting

Start-up volume is the volume level the radio will play at when next turned on. To adjust: 1) Press and hold knob q longer than 2 seconds. The display will change to Initial Volume

screen. 2) The current start-up volume level is displayed. 3) Turn knob q left or right to increase or decrease the volume, then press knob q again to

set that volume level as the start-up volume level. w Audio Settings

The tone and individual speaker levels may be adjusted. 1) Press knob w; the display shows the current level setting. 2) Refer section 11. 2.2 for more information on adjust the level.

e RADIO Button This button operates several tuner functions: 1) Press button e to select the Tuner mode when another mode is operating. 2) Press button e to change the radio wave band. The sequence of selection is below:

FM1 → FM2 → FM3 → AM

Press the RADIO button to switch the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio off. r MEDIA Button

Press button r to change to the next available mode. The complete mode sequence for selection is shown below:

Press button r to switch the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio off. Note: Only those mode sources connected will be displayed.

General t SETUP Button

Press button t to set system features and options. For more information, refer to section 11.

y Equalizer Setting (EQ Button) An equalizer curve for different music types may be selected (CLASSIC, POP, ROCK, and JAZZ). Press button y repeatedly until the desired equalizer effect icon is displayed on the top of the display. The sequence of EQ styles is displayed as follows:

NOR(Normal) → CLA(Classic) → POP → ROCK → JAZZ

u Off Hook Button

This button operates several functions: 1) Press the button selects the Device Manager when Bluetooth is disconnected.

Refer section 11.3.1. 2) Press the button selects the Phone screen when Bluetooth is connected.

Refer section 10. 3) Press the button accepts an incoming phone call. 4) Hold and press the button redials the last dialed phone number.

i On Hook Button

This button operates several functions: 1) Press the button rejects an incoming call. 2) Press the button ends an active phone call. 3) Press the button cancels Phone screen.

s Display Setting (DISP button)

The radio display may be switched off to reduce the amount of light inside the vehicle cabin at night. Press button s to switch off or on the LCD screen. Note: a. If the display is switched off, the radio operation continues. b. If any control on the radio or steering wheel control is operated, the display automatically

resumes. Press the DISP button again to switch it off if desired.

d DISC Slot With the printed label surface facing upwards, gently insert the disc into the slot until the soft loading mechanism engages.

f DISC Eject This button f will eject the disc and the radio will return to the previous mode. Note: If the eject function does not operate due to an internal error press and hold button f for

more than 2 seconds.

g Warning LED

This LED lamp blinks every 1 second when the ignition is turned OFF to act as a deterrent against theft.

1.1 Move to Media Menu screen

1) Press the mode icon to select Media Menu screen when the current mode is operating.

2) Press the desired mode icon to select the mode. 3) If the desired mode is not selected within 3 seconds, the previous screen will automatically

be restored.

1.2 Recoding (i.e.: Tuner Mode)

1) Press the REC icon to record the current broadcast. Once recording starts, the REC icon will blink on the screen and the current recording time and total available time are displayed on the screen.

2) During recording, press the PAUSE icon to pause recording. Press the REC icon again to re-start recording from where the last recording ended.

3) During recording, pressing the STOP icon will stop recording and the “Save Recording?” text will be displayed on the screen.

4) Here, press the YES icon to save the recording file with the file name displayed on the screen. Press the NO icon to cancel recording and restore the previous screen. Press the RENAME icon to change the file name.

5) The recorded file is stored to the internal memory and can be played within My Music mode. For more information, refer to section 8.

Note: a. The control key will not operate during recording. b. Recordings that are less than 1 second will not be saved. C. The PAUSE feature is not supported for CD-DA and iPod. d. CD-DA and iPod are saved in one song units.

1.3 Changing the File Name

1) As described in 4) above, pressing the RENAME icon will display the following screen.

2) Use the keypad to change the file name. Refer to the table below for more information on icons displayed within the keypad screen.

3) Press the STORE icon to finalize changes to the file name.

Note: a. Some special characters may not be supported. ( ? “ < > * / : ) b. Files with identical file names cannot be saved more than once within a mode. c. Up to 27 characters can be used to save file names.

2. Steering Wheel Controls

2.1 VOLUME (+ / - ) button Push the toggle switch toward + and - to increase or decrease the volume level.

2.2 SEEK ( ∧ / ∨ ) button

Tuner Mode Press the SEEK buttons for less than 1 second to change the radio station to the next preset memory. Press the SEEK buttons for longer than 1 second to seek to the next available radio station.

CD / USB / BT Audio / My Music Mode Press the SEEK buttons for less than 1 second to change to the next track. Press and hold the SEEK button to CUE or REVIEW the current playing track.

Note: a) The SEEK buttons may not operate when using some Bluetooth music players. b) CUE and REVIEW is not available when using BT Audio mode.

2.3 MODE button

Press the MODE button for less than 1 second to change to the next available mode. The complete mode sequence for selection is shown below:

Press the MODE button for more than 1 second to switch the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio off.

Note: Only those mode sources connected will be displayed and available for selection when using the steering wheel MODE button.

2.4 MUTE button

Press the MUTE button to switch off the sound. Press again to restore the volume to the last selected level.

3.1 AM/FM Tuner Screen

Icon Description

Displays the FM1, FM3, FM3, and AM modes

Displays the currently playing frequency

Displays preset frequencies

Records currently playing broadcast

Shows preset list

Saves frequencies with superior reception to preset buttons

Converts frequency bandwidth in order of FM1 -> FM2 -> FM3 -> AM

AM/FM Tuner 3.2 w TUNE Button

To manually tune to a radio station, turn knob w left or right to increase or decrease the radio frequency.

3.3 o, Up/Down Tuning Buttons (∧ , ∨ ) To search for the next available radio station, momentarily press button o or button a.

3.4 j Preset Buttons These buttons operate in two ways when Tuner mode is active: 1) Press buttons j or preset icon on the display for less than 2 seconds will recall the radio

station memorized to that preset button memory. 2) Press buttons j or preset icon on the display for more than 2 seconds store the current

tuned radio station into that preset pressed.

Note: Preset station memories are lost if the vehicle battery is disconnected.

3.5 Recording Press the REC icon to start recording the current broadcast. For more information on the recording feature, refer to section 1.3.2.

3.6 Viewing Preset Frequency Lists

1) Press the LIST icon to display the Preset lists by bandwidth. 2) Up to 6 stations can be saved to presets for each FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM bandwidths. 3) From the list, press the desired preset to listen to the selected frequency. 4) Press the icon or button i to restore the previous screen.

3.7 Best Station Memory (BSM) Press the BSM icon to activate the BSM function. The display will show the BSM during the search. The radio stations in the vicinity of the vehicle that are of acceptable reception quality are automatically stored in the radio preset button memories.

3.8 Changing Radio band

Press BAND icon to change the radio wave band. The sequence of selection is below:

FM1 → FM2 → FM3 → AM

4. CD-DA Player

4.1 Playing Music Using CD-DA 1) Insert the CD-DA disc located disc slot. The radio will display Loading. 2) The radio will display Reading and the begin playback of music after loading complete. 3) If another mode is selected, CD-DA player may be resumed by pressing button r on the

radio or by pressing the MODE button on the steering wheel. 4) The radio display shows the track name.

4.2 CD-DA Player Screen

Icon Description

Current track /Total tracks

Displays the play time for the current track

Displays the track name

Records the currently playing song

Displays file list within the disc

Scans the beginning parts of disc tracks in sequential order (approx 10 seconds per track)

Repeats the current track

Plays disc tracks in random order

4.3 Recording

Press the REC icon to start recording the current track. For more information on the recording feature, refer to section 1.3.2. In CD mode, the PAUSE feature is not supported during recording.

4.4 o Track Up / Cue This button o is used to select track up. When this button is pressed, playback of the next track is started. Each time the ( ∧ ) button is pressed, the track number to be played is increased. Press and hold this button ( ∧ ) to CUE or advance rapidly in the forward direction.

4.5 a Track Down / Review This button a is used to select track down. When this button ( ∨ ) is pressed, playback of the current track is re-started and if pressed again, the playback of the previous track begins. Press and hold this button ( ∨ ) to REVIEW or advance rapidly in the backward direction.

4.6 Viewing Track List within DISC

1) Press the LIST icon to display the track list within the disc. 2) Select the desired track from the list to play the track. 3) Press the ▲ icon to move to the previous list page and the ▼ icon to move to the next list page. 4) Press the icon or button i to restore the previous screen.

4.7 Track Scan SCAN icon when press will play the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc. SCAN will appear on the display. When the desired track is reached, press the icon again to cancel the function. The set will then play the selected track.

4.8 Repeat Play During disc play, press RPT icon to play the selected track repeatedly. RPT will appear on the display. Playback of the same track will continue to repeat until the icon is pressed again. Press the icon again to cancel the repeat function.

4.9 Random Play During disc play, press RDM icon to play tracks on the disc in a random or shuffled order. RDM will appear on the display. The track select function will also select tracks in the random mode instead of the normal sequence. Press the icon again to cancel the random function.

4.10 Track Browser A function to locate a specific track is provided in the radio: 1) Turn knob w to display the tracks available on the DISC. 2) When the desired track is displayed, press knob w to begin playback of that track.

5. CD-MP3/WMA Player

5.1 Playing Music Using CD-DA 1) Insert the CD-DA disc located disc slot. The radio will display Loading. 2) The radio will display Reading on the screen and the begin playing music once loading is

complete. 3) If another mode is selected, CD-DA player may be resumed by pressing button r on the

radio or by pressing the MODE button on the steering wheel. 4) The radio display shows the file ID3 information. If the ID3 information is too long to be

display at once, the display will scroll the ID3 information when pressed.

5.2 CD-MP3/WMA Screen

Displays the play time for the current file

Copies the currently playing file

Displays file list within the disc

CD-MP3/WMA Player 5.3 Copying Files

1) Press the COPY icon to copy the currently playing file. 2) Once copying starts, the currently playing file is stopped and the COPY icon will blink on the

screen. 3) Press the CANCEL icon to cancel copying and re-start the current file. 4) Once copying is complete, the COPY icon disappears and the paused file will re-start. 5) The copied file is stored to the internal memory and can be played within My Music mode.

5.4 File Browser

5.4.1 File browser using knob w The file browser is a feature used to locate specific files within the radio. 1) Turn knob w to display the files available on the CD. 2) When the desired file is displayed, press knob w to begin playback of that file.

5.4.2 File browser using File List

1) Press the LIST icon to display the list of files within the disc. 2) Select the desired file from the list to play the file. 3) Press the ▲ icon to move to the previous list page and the ▼ icon to move to the next list

page. 4) Press the ◀ icon to move to the previous folder and the ▶ icon to move to the next folder. 5) Press the icon or button i to restore the previous screen.

CD-MP3/WMA Player

5.5 Track Scan SCAN icon when press will play the first 10 seconds of each file on the disc. SCAN will appear on the display. When the desired file is reached, press the icon again to cancel the function. The set will then play the selected file. If playing MP3 / WMA files in folders, press and hold the SCAN icon; SCN-F will appear on the display; files within the current folder will play the first 10 seconds of each file.

5.6 Repeat Play During disc play, press RPT icon to play the selected file repeatedly. RPT will appear on the display. Playback of the same file will continue to repeat until the icon is pressed again. Press the icon again to cancel the repeat function. If playing MP3 / WMA files in folders, press and hold the RPT icon; RPT-F will appear on the display; files within the current folder will be repeated.

5.7 Random Play During disc play, press RDM icon to play files on the disc in a random or shuffled order. RDM will appear on the display. The track select function will also select files in the random mode instead of the normal sequence. Press the icon again to cancel the random function. If playing MP3 / WMA files in folders, press and hold the RDM icon; RDM-F will appears on the display; files within the current folder will be played in random order.

USB Player

6. USB Player MP3 and WMA music files located on a memory device connected using the USB socket may be played by the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. Refer to section 5 (CD-MP3/WMA Player) for controlling the playback of MP3 / WMA files. The same method of control is used when MP3 / WMA files are stored on either a CD or USB device. 6.1 Playing Music Using USB device

1. To play music files using the USB connection, connect your USB device to the USB socket located inside the centre console. (See below picture)

2. When the USB memory device is connected, the radio will change to USB mode, display Reading and then music playback will begin.

3. If another mode is selected, USB player may be resumed by pressing the MEDIA button on the radio or by pressing the MODE button on the steering wheel.

4. The radio display shows the file ID3 information. If the ID3 information is too long for the display, the display scrolls when press that ID3 information.

Notes When Using the USB Player:

a) If there are no compatible music files found on the USB device, the radio returns to the previous mode and displays No File.

b) USB Error will be displayed if the USB device is not compatible with the radio. c) Use of MULTI-CARD READER devices may not work correctly. d) USB music players will be recognized as storage devices by the radio.

6.5 a File Down / Review

This button a is used to select file down. When this button ( ∨ ) is pressed, playback of the current file is re-started and if pressed again, the playback of the previous file begins. Press and hold this button ( ∨ ) to REVIEW or advance rapidly in the backward direction.

6.6 Charging USB Player

When a USB device is connected to the radio, the USB device will be charged whilst the vehicle ACC switch is ON. The radio does not need to be operating.

Notes When Using the USB Socket for Charging: a) Effective battery charging of USB devices using the USB socket cannot be assured. b) The power is available at the USB socket when the vehicle ignition switch is in the ACC

position. The radio is not required to be operating.

7. iPod Player

7.1 Playing Music Using iPod via USB. 1) Connect the iPod to the USB socket located inside the centre console using the cable

supplied with iPod (see previous page). 2) The radio will display Reading and the begin playback of music. 3) If another mode is selected, iPod player may be resumed by pressing button r on the

radio or by pressing the MODE button on the steering wheel. 4) The radio display shows the file ID3 information. If the ID3 information is too long for the

display, the display scrolls when press that ID3 information.

7.2 iPod Player Screen

7.3 Recording

7.4 o File Up / Cue This button o is used to select file up. When this button is pressed, playback of the next file is started. Each time the ( ∧ ) button is pressed, the file number to be played is increased. Press and hold this button ( ∧ ) to CUE or advance rapidly in the forward direction.



7.6 Song Search

A quick file or song browser is available to view the available files in the current category. 1) Turn knob w to display the file ID3 information. 2) When the desired file title is displayed, press knob w to begin playback of that file.

7.7 Searching Files through Category Search

1) In iPod mode, press the MENU icon to display iPod categories. 2) Select the desired category to display sub-categories. If there are no sub-categories, then

the stored file list will be displayed.. 3) Repeat Step 2 until reaching the stored file list. 4) Press the ▲ icon to move to the previous list page and the ▼ icon to move to the next list

page. 5) To move to a previous category, press the name of the current category displayed at the top

of the screen. For example, pressing the [PLAY LIST] icon within the above image will restore the previous category.

6) Select the desired file from the list to play the file. 7) Press the icon or button i to restore the previous screen.

7.8 Repeat Play

During iPod playback, press RPT icon to play the currently playing file repeatedly. RPT will appear on the display when this function is selected. Playback of the file will continue to repeat until the icon is pressed again.

7.9 Random Play During playback within a category, press RDM icon to play tracks within the currently selected category in a random or shuffled order. RDM will appear on the display. The file select this function will now select tracks in the random mode instead of the normal sequence.

8. AUX Input

8.1 AUX Connector It is possible to connect your portable media player to the car audio system for playback of the audio tracks via the car speakers.

To get the best results when connecting the portable media to the car audio system, follow these steps:

1) Use the supplied 3.5 mm stereo plug to 3.5 mm stereo plug cable to connect the media player headphone socket to the AUX socket located inside the centre console.

2) Adjust the portable media player to approximately ¾ (75%) volume level and start playback.

3) Press button r on the car radio or press the steering wheel remote MODE button until the display shows Connected.

Note: a. The audio quality of your media player and the audio tracks on it may not be of the

same sound quality as the car audio system's CD player. b. If the volume level of the media player is too low compared with the radio or CD,

increase the volume of the connected media player. c. If the sound of the media player is too loud and/or distorted, decrease the volume of the

player. d. For technical information regarding the AUX input, refer to the specification section at

the end of this manual.

8.2 Recording Press the REC icon to start recording the current file. For more information on the recording feature, refer to section 1.3.2. Once the REC icon is pressed, recording will start from the currently playing point within the file.

9. My Music

9.1 My Music Screen

My Music 9.4 Deleting Files

1) When a file is playing, you can delete the current file by pressing the DELETE icon. 2) As shown below, the file name is shown and you are asked whether you wish to delete the

file.

3) Press the NO icon to cancel deleting and return to the previous screen. Press the YES icon to delete the file.

9.5 Song Search A function to locate a specific file is provided in the radio: 1) Turn knob w to display the files available. 2) When the desired file is displayed, press knob w to begin playback of that file.

9.6 Searching and Playing files from My Music List

1) Press the LIST icon to display the My Music list screen. Recorded files from various modes are displayed. .

2) Select the desired file from the list to play the file. 3) Press the ▲ icon to move to the previous list page and the ▼ icon to move to the next list

page. 4) Pressing the ◀,▶ icons allow you to check recorded files by mode. Modes are shown in the

following order.

5) Press the icon or button i to restore the previous screen. 6) Press the check box on the left side of the screen to select desired files or all files. 7) Press the COPY icon to copy selected files onto a USB device. This feature is disabled if a

USB device is not connected. Also, it is possible to select up to 50 files.

8) Press the DEL icon to delete the selected files. 9) Press the EDIT icon to change the name of the selected file. However, this feature will

operate only when there is one file selected. For more information on using the EDIT feature, refer to section 1.3.3.

9.7 File Scan

SCAN icon when press will play the first 10 seconds of each file in the My Music. SCAN will appear on the display. When the desired file is reached, press the icon again to cancel the function. The set will then play the selected file. Press and hold the SCAN icon; SCN-F will appear on the display; files within the current folder will play the first 10 seconds of each file.

9.8 Repeat Play During My Music play, press RPT icon to play the selected file repeatedly. RPT will appear on the display. Playback of the same file will continue to repeat until the icon is pressed again. Press the icon again to cancel the repeat function. Press and hold the RPT icon; RPT-F will appear on the display; files within the current folder will be repeated.

9.9 Random Play During My Music play, press RDM icon to play files in the My Music in a random or shuffled order. RDM will appear on the display. The file select function will also select files in the random mode instead of the normal sequence. Press the icon again to cancel the random function. Press and hold the RDM icon; RDM-F will appears on the display; files within the current folder will be played in random order.

Bluetooth Audio Player

10. Bluetooth Audio Player Function

10.1 Playing Music Using Bluetooth Audio The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio supports the Bluetooth profile ‘Advanced Audio Distribution Profile’ (A2DP). If your mobile phone or music player supports this profile then it is possible to listen to music tracks located on your Bluetooth device through the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and car speakers. Additionally, the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio supports the ‘Audio Video Remote Control Profile’ (AVRCP). If your Bluetooth mobile phone or music player supports this profile then it is possible to advance to the next track or replay previous tracks on using the buttons on the front of the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio or steering wheel remote controls (if fitted) on your vehicle.

quality audio through the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. c. Text Information attached to music tracks on the music player (e.g. the elapsed playing

time, song or artist name etc.) will not be displayed on the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. d. Playback may automatically begin as soon as the BT Audio mode is selected using the

radio or steering wheel buttons.

When a device capable of playing music by Bluetooth audio and by USB connection is connected to the radio using the USB connector (eg. iPod ‘Touch’ or ‘iPhone’ Models), it may be necessary to manually select the audio playback route on the device when changing modes on the Hyundai Bluetooth radio.

10.4 Connecting a Bluetooth Music Player and Mobile Phone Simultaneously It is possible to connect a Bluetooth mobile phone and a separate Bluetooth music player to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio at the same time. Phone calls may be sent and received using the connected mobile phone and music playback is possible using a separate Bluetooth music player.

1) Ensure both the mobile phone and music player have been paired to the HYUNDAI music player and that they operate correctly.

2) Ensure both mobile phone and music player are both set to automatically connect to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.

3) Connect the music player to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio using the Device Manager and Select Phone actions described earlier in this user manual.

4) Start playing music from the Bluetooth music player using the Bluetooth Audio function. 5) Now, connect the mobile phone to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio using the menu system

of the mobile phone. Do not use the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio menu system to connect to the mobile phone.

6) The music player will continue to operate and the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio will confirm the connection of the mobile phone on the radio display.

Note: The Bluetooth audio profile connection must be occupied by the Bluetooth music player in order for simultaneous connection of a music player and mobile phone.

12. Bluetooth Wireless Technology Your HYUNDAI car radio supports Bluetooth wireless technology. Bluetooth technology provides a wireless link between a Bluetooth mobile phone or Bluetooth music player and the HYUNDAI Bluetooth car radio. The HYUNDAI Bluetooth car radio features a hands-free system so that you may talk on the telephone without taking your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel. A microphone built into the front of the radio receives your voice and the calling party can be heard through the car speakers. Additionally, a Bluetooth music player can be wirelessly connected to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and playback music tracks in high quality sound through the car speakers. Some Bluetooth mobile phones include a music player and can provide both hands-free calling and music playback. Please check the user manual of your Bluetooth mobile phone or music for details of the Bluetooth features supported and how they are operated when connected to a Bluetooth audio accessory such as this HYUNDAI Bluetooth car radio.

Notes When Using the Bluetooth Feature: a. When the vehicle ignition switch is in the ACC position, the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio is

on ‘Stand-by’, ready to connect with your mobile phone even if the car radio is switched off. The car battery may therefore become drained if the ignition switch remains in the ACC position for an extended period of time.

b. Bluetooth technology uses low power radio transmission to connect to your Bluetooth mobile phone or Bluetooth music player. As radio signal strength reduces over distance, the quality of sound performance during phone calls and music playback may become poor if the distance between the radio and device widens. It is recommended that the mobile phone or music player is kept inside the car cabin, and where possible, close to the car radio for best performance.

c. As a Bluetooth wireless connection can extend to 10 meters, your Bluetooth device may automatically connect to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio even if the device is not in the car. Please consider this, especially when pairing or connecting Bluetooth devices to the car radio when other Bluetooth devices may be within wireless radio range of the car radio.

d. The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio uses the latest Digital Noise & Echo suppression system to provide the best sound clarity with little or no distortion, but in some conditions there may be some echo and noise experienced. It is recommended to keep the car windows closed during hands-free calls for best results.

e. The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio uses the following Bluetooth profiles: ► GAVDP (Generic Audio/Video Distribution Profile) ► PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) ► HFP (Hands Free Profile) ► HSP (Head Set Profile) ► A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) ► AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile)

12.1 Bluetooth Indicators Shown on the Radio Display

► Bluetooth Indicator The Bluetooth logo above is displayed steady on the radio screen when a Bluetooth device is connected. If the indicator is not displayed, then no Bluetooth device is connected or the connection is not of satisfactory quality. The indicator may occasionally flash, indicating the radio is searching for a previously paired mobile phone or music player.

► Battery Strength Indicator This indicator shows the condition of the battery charge level of your connected mobile phone. The battery indicator on the radio display incorporates a series of vertical black sections providing a guide to the battery charge level. This indicator may not be 100% accurate nor show the identical level of the battery compared to the indicator on the mobile phone or music player. If your device does not transmit battery condition level via Bluetooth or is not fully compatible with the car radio Bluetooth specification, the indicator is not displayed.

► Signal Level Indicator This indicator shows the signal strength of the mobile phone network received by your mobile phone within your current location. This indicator will not be displayed if only a Bluetooth music player (without a mobile phone) is connected to the car radio. The signal level indicator operates in a similar way to the battery strength indicator above and it’s operation limitations may therefore also be similar.

12.3 Bluetooth Connection

12.3.1 Pairing a Bluetooth Mobile Phone or Music Player A Bluetooth connection must first be established between your Bluetooth mobile phone or Bluetooth music player and the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. The first step to connecting the Bluetooth radio and Bluetooth device is to introduce or ‘Pair’ the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and Bluetooth device together. It is recommended that you have the instruction manual for your Bluetooth mobile phone or music player with you during the pairing process described below to assist your understanding of how to set your device to pair with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. Note: It is recommended that all other Bluetooth devices other than the device to be paired are

switched off during the following steps 1) to 7).

Paring instructions: 1) Press the u button to display Phone screen. If a Bluetooth is not connected, then press the u button to display the Device Manager screen.

2) Press the Setting icon to display the Bluetooth setting screen. 3) Press 1. Device Manager to display the Device Manager screen. 4) To pair a new device, press the “+” or “EMPTY” icon on the screen. 5) The radio will now allow itself to be discovered by other compatible Bluetooth devices and the

display will show Pairing Active – Enter Code 0000 into Device. 6) Now, set your Bluetooth device to search for and pair with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. A

guide for setting your Bluetooth device to search and pair with the radio is provided in section 12.3.2. ‘Setting your Bluetooth device to pairing mode’.

7) If you wish to end the radio PAIRING mode, press button i. 8) If pairing is successful, then the phrases “Connected” and “Handsfree – device name” will be

displayed on the screen. 9) If the paired Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth Audio, then “B/T audio – device name” will

also be displayed. 10) Your Bluetooth device is now ready for use with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.

Notes When Pairing Bluetooth Devices: a. The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio allows a maximum of 6 Bluetooth devices to be paired.

Once paired, the device is retained in memory and pairing is not required again unless the device is deleted from the car radio.

b. Only one Bluetooth mobile phone may be connected to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio at one time for hands free telephone operation.

c. If a Bluetooth music player is to be connected together with a mobile phone, refer to the notes in section 10.1. ‘Playing Music Using Bluetooth Audio’.

d. Bluetooth connection between the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and mobile phone is normally established using the Hands Free Profile (HFP). However, some mobile phones may only allow the connection to establish in Head Set Profile (HSP) and therefore some functions may not be available.

12.3.2 Setting Your Bluetooth Device to Pairing Mode 1) Select the SETTINGS or CONNECTIVITY menu of your Bluetooth phone or music player

and find the menu dealing with Bluetooth connection. 2) Select the function on the device to begin searching for Bluetooth devices. 3) After the search is complete, HYUNDAI should appear on the screen of the device. 4) Select CONNECT or SELECT device HYUNDAI. 5) The mobile phone or music player should now prompt you top enter a PIN code. Enter

0000 into your Bluetooth device. 6) The mobile phone or music player should confirm that it has established a new paired

connection with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. 7) The pairing process is now complete.

Notes When Pairing Your Bluetooth Device: a. As each mobile phone or music player brand and model has a different menu structure and

process for adding a Bluetooth audio accessory such as the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio, you should refer to the user manual of your Bluetooth device for the accurate and correct procedure.

b. A device must first be paired to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio before it can be connected, i.e. if a device has been paired, it must then be connected before the hands free and/or audio playback features can be used.

c. Once the Bluetooth pairing is complete, the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio will attempt to connect to your device. Some devices will require further operation to then connect to the car radio. It is recommended that the device is set to ‘Automatically Connect’ to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio so that whenever the car ignition switch is switched on, the device will automatically connect to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.

d. The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio will give connection priority to the last connected mobile phone.

e. It is recommended that all other Bluetooth devices other than that device to be paired are switched off during the pairing process.

f. The 0000 passcode may not be required to be required on Bluetooth devices during the pairing process.

g. The 0000 passcode is fixed in the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and cannot be changed by the user.

12.3.3 Disconnecting a Bluetooth Device

If disconnection of the Bluetooth mobile phone or music player with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio is required, follow the steps below.

1) Select the Device Manager screen. 2) Press Bluetooth Device name to disconnect the currently connected mobile phone or

music player from the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. 3) Once the device is connected, then the phrases “Disconnected” and “Handsfree – device

name” will be displayed on the screen. If the paired Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth Audio, then “B/T audio – device name” will also be displayed.

12.3.4 Selecting a Bluetooth Device The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio can pair up to 6 Bluetooth devices. A previously paired mobile phone or music player can be selected for connection using the method described below. 1) Select the Device Manager screen. 2) Select the Bluetooth device you want to connect. 3) If pairing is successful, then the phrases “Connected” and “Handsfree – device name” will

be displayed on the screen. If the paired Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth Audio, then “B/T audio – device name” will also be displayed.

Notes When Selecting a Paired Device: 1) The name of the Bluetooth device is sent by the device and stored in the HYUNDAI

Bluetooth radio memory. In most Bluetooth devices, the name can be changed by the user. Refer to the user manual of your Bluetooth device for details.

2) If the selected previously paired Bluetooth device is switched off or if the Bluetooth feature is switched off, then the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio will retune to the previous screen when connection is attempted.

12.3.5 Deleting a Paired Bluetooth Device

If a previously paired Bluetooth device is no longer to be used with the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio, it may be deleted from memory. 1) Select the Device Manager screen. 2) Press the “-“ icon in front of the Bluetooth device you want to delete. 3) After moving to the Delete Phone screen, then “Handsfree – device name” is displayed. If

the paired Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth Audio, then “B/T audio – device name” will also be displayed.

4) Press the NO icon if you do not wish to delete the device. Press the YES icon to delete the selected device.

5) Once the Bluetooth device is successfully deleted, then the phrases “Deleted” and “Handsfree – device name” will be displayed on the screen. If the paired Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth Audio, then “B/T audio – device name” will also be displayed.

Bluetooth 12.4 Telephone Operation

12.4.1 Hands Free Calling 1) When an incoming call arrives at the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio via your connected

Bluetooth mobile phone, Incoming Call appears on the display for 3 seconds and then the calling telephone number is shown on the display.

2) Press the u button or Accept icon on the screen to connect the call. To end the call, press the i button or END icon on the screen.

3) To reject the call, press the i button or the Decline button on the screen. 4) When making an outgoing call, enter numbers by using the keypad within the HYUNDAI

Bluetooth radio or Bluetooth mobile phone and press the OFF HOOK button. 5) The phrase “Calling” will be displayed on the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio screen and the

call is converted to Handsfree mode. 6) To end the call, press the i button or the ON HOOK button on the mobile phone.

Notes When Making or Receiving a Call: a. It is important to press the OFF HOOK (green) button on the mobile phone to make a

call if the number to be called is entered using the keypad of the mobile phone. b. It is possible that during an incoming or outgoing call, the connection between your

phone and the other party may drop out or end for no apparent reason. In most cases, this will be due to the mobile telephone network. Make sure the mobile phone is as close as possible to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio to ensure best Bluetooth connection quality.

c. To ensure the best sound quality at both calling party end and within the cabin during a hands free call, close the windows and speak clearly toward the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.

12.4.2 Redialing the Last Number 1) Select Bluetooth mode by pressing the u button. 2) Once the u button is pressed, outgoing call will appear on the radio display.

Notes When Redialing a Previously Called Number: Some mobile phones may require an additional press of button u when starting last number redial.

12.4.3 Calling from the Call List When the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and Bluetooth mobile phone are connected, the call list from the Bluetooth mobile phone is automatically downloaded. 1) Press the u button to select the Phone screen. 2) Press the CALL LIST icon to view the call list. 3) You can check incoming call lists within the Incoming tab, outgoing call lists within the

Outgoing tab and missed call lists within the Missed tab. 4) After finding the number you want to call from the call list, press the CALL icon to connect

the call. 5) The phrase “Calling” will be displayed on the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio screen and the call

is converted to Handsfree mode.

12.4.4 Switching to Private (Handset) Mode During a Call During an incoming or outgoing call started in Handsfree mode, it is possible to switch to the private call mode using the mobile phone handset to speak to and hear the calling party in private.

1) During a call, press the Private icon. 2) If you wish to return to Handsfree mode during a call in Private mode, press the H/Free

icon on the LCD screen.

Note: Switching to Private mode may cause the Bluetooth connection to be lost when using some mobile phones. The Bluetooth connection will automatically restore after the call has been ended.

12.5.1 Device Manager 1) Pairs new Bluetooth devices. For more information, refer to section 12.3.1. 2) Disconnects the currently connected Bluetooth device. For more information, refer to section

12.5.2 Setting the Automatic Call Answer Feature If this function is selected, the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio will automatically connect an incoming call received by the mobile phone. This feature enhances safety as the driver does not need to take their hands from the steering wheel to accept an incoming call.

1) Press the u button to select the Bluetooth menu. 2) Press the SETTING icon. 3) Select the desired settings within 2. Auto Answer.

OFF = Auto answer function is not active. 5 SEC = Automatically answers all incoming calls after a 5 second delay. 10 SEC = Automatically answers all incoming calls after a 10 second delay.

4) The selected setting is displayed in orange and is applied immediately upon selection.

12.5.3 Setting Calling Voice/Ringer Volume Level The level of the calling voice/ringer volume heard through the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio and car speakers is adjusted using this setting.

1) Press the u button to select the Bluetooth menu. 2) Press the SETTING icon. 3) Press the 3. Volume icon. The current Voice volume and Ringer volume levels are

displayed. 4) Adjust the volume level. Press the + icon to increase the volume and the – icon to

decrease the volume. 5) Once volume level adjustment is complete, press the icon to return to the previous

screen. Note:

a. The calling voice level may be adjusted during a call using the volume control on the radio.

b. The ringer level may be adjusted during an incoming call where the ring tone is heard using the volume control on the radio.

Note When Making Adjustments in Above Section 5.2 and 5.3: The settings and adjustments made above are stored in the memory of the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. The settings are lost if the vehicle battery is disconnected.

1) Press the u button to select the Bluetooth menu. 2) Press the SETTING icon. 3) Press the 4. Emergency Number icon. 4) Press the Reset icon to automatically enter the default number 112. 5) Press the icon to delete entered numbers. 6) After entering the number you add using the keypad, press the SET icon to save the

number. 7) Press the icon to return to the previous screen.

12.5.5 Phonebook

The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio can store 1,000 names. Names with a maximum length of up to 16 characters and phone numbers with a maximum length of up to 20 digits can be displayed. HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio automatically downloads contacts from the Bluetooth mobile phone once a Bluetooth phone is connected.

12.5.6 Making a Call from the Phonebook 1) Press the u button to select the Phone screen. 2) Press the PHONEBOOK icon. The list of registered contacts is displayed. 3) Press the Search icon to display the keypad screen. 4) After entering the desired name, press the Search icon. 5) Press the ▲/▼ icons to move the list in up/down direction to search for the desired contact. 6) After finding the desired contact, select it to view the contact information. 7) Within the contact information, press the displayed phone number to make a call.

12.5.7 Connecting an Emergency Call

This feature allows you to directly make a call to a previously saved emergency number. 1) Press the u button to select the Bluetooth menu. 2) Press the EMERGENCY icon. A call is immediately made to a previously added

emergency number. 3) For more information on changing the number, refer to section 12.5.4.

You can check the model name, version and memory use state. The memory use state is displayed as in use / total capacity.

If the touch screen does not operate properly due to imprecise touch coordinates, it can be reset by calibrating the touch screen. Inaccurate calibration may cause the touch screen to function abnormally.

13.2 Sound Settings

13.2.1 Equalizer Setting An equalizer curve for different music types may be selected (CLASSIC, POP, ROCK, and JAZZ).

1) Press the t button to display the Setup screen. 2) Press 2. Sound 3) Press 1. Equalizer. 4) Press the desired equalizer type on the screen. The setting is saved and the previous

screen is restored. 5) Pressing the SET icon allows the user to adjust the sound tone. For more information,

refer to section 13.2.2 6) To cancel, press the icon to return to the previous screen.

13.2.2 Audio Settings The tone and individual speaker levels may be adjusted.

13.2.4 Loudness Setting When listening to music at low volume levels, this feature will boost the bass and treble output levels. 1) Press the t button to display the Setup screen. 2) Press 2. Sound. 3) Within 4. Loudness, select the desired setting. 4) The selected setting is displayed in orange and is applied immediately upon selection.

13.2.5 Recording Bitrate

This is used to set the bitrate of files recorded in Media. Default setting is set to 128 kb/s, and higher quality is provided with higher bitrates. 1) Press the t button to display the Setup screen. 2) Press 2. Sound. 3) Press 5. Recording Bitrate. 4) After selecting the desired bitrate, press the SET icon to save the setting. 5) Press the icon to return to the previous screen.

Firmware Upgrade

14. Firmware As with most modern electronics devices, the internal control system of this radio uses a powerful microcomputer and associated software or firmware. It may be necessary to add new firmware to the radio to ensure best levels of performance. The new firmware can be uploaded into the radio using a USB storage device. The upgrading process is simple but some precautions must be taken to ensure successful results. Please read the following instructions and notes carefully before attempting a firmware upgrade.

Contact your dealer for details of how to obtain new firmware upgrade files.

Three types of firmware upgrade files are used: • System firmware e.g. file name: CNC_AUTO_Vxxx.rom • Bluetooth firmware e.g. file name: CNC_AUTO_Bxxx.dfu • GUI e.g. file name: CNC_AUTO_Gxxx.img

14.1. Upgrading Firmware

1) Set Ignition switch to the ACC or ON position. 2) Turn on the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. 3) Connect the USB storage device with the valid firmware file to the radio. 4) Once the USB storage device is connected, files within the USB storage device will play

automatically. 5) If the firmware file is normal, the firmware upgrade screen is displayed when the Preset 2 and

5 buttons are simultaneously pressed and held. 6) If the w knob is turned, then system upgrade and Bluetooth upgrade are displayed

alternately. 7) For more information on System upgrade and Bluetooth upgrade, refer to the corresponding

sections below.

12.1.1 Upgrading System(GUI) Firmware 1) This process is proceeded from after 6) of section 12.1. 2) When ‘System upgrade‘ is shown, press the w knob again to start the system upgrade. 3) During the System upgrade process, the display shows the upgrade file selected and the

14.2. Upgrading Bluetooth Firmware

1) This process is proceeded from after 6) of section 12.1. 2) If the w knob is turned, then system upgrade and Bluetooth upgrade are displayed

alternately. 3) When Bluetooth Upgrade is shown, press the w knob again to start the Bluetooth

upgrade. 8) During the Bluetooth upgrade process, Bluetooth updating now, Please Wait appears on

the display. 9) If the firmware upgrade is successful, Upgrade completed appears on the display on the

radio changes to Tuner mode.

NOTE: 1. To upgrade the firmware, the firmware file and at least one MP3 file must exist within the

USB storage device. 2. Before conducting the upgrade, first check the version of your Hyundai Bluetooth radio

and conduct upgrades only when necessary. 3. If the GUI upgrade file and System Firmware do not match, then the upgrade will not

normally occur. 4. If vehicle power is turned off during an upgrade, then such could cause a severe product

error. 5. The control key will not operate during an upgrade.

Handling Compact Discs

1) Dirt, dust and scratches on the disc surface and warped discs can cause loss of sound or skipping during playback. Additionally, deterioration of sound quality may also result.

Please observe these guidelines to take care of your compact discs:

＊Fingerprints, dust and dirt should be carefully wiped from the disc playing surface (side with no printing) with a soft cloth. Wipe in a straight motion from the inside to the outside of the disc.

＊Never use chemicals such as record sprays, household cleaners or thinner to clean compact discs. Such chemicals can irreparably damage the disc's surface.

＊Discs should be kept in their storage cases when not in use. ＊Do not expose discs to direct sunlight, high temperatures or high humidity for extended

periods. ＊Do not stick paper, tape, or labels on the disc surfaces nor write on them with any type of

marker. 2) Discs with non-standard shapes (e.g.: heart, square, star) cannot be played on this unit.

Attempting to do so may damage the unit. Do not use such discs. 3) Before playing, clean the discs with a cleaning cloth specifically designed to clean compact

discs. Wipe each disc from the center out. Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or antistatic spray intended for vinyl records.

4) Some UDF CD-Rs/CD-RWs may require a longer reading time. 5) Some CD-Rs/CD-RWs (depending on the equipment used for its recording or the condition of

the disc) may not play on this unit. 6) MP3 CD-Rs/CD-RWs (depending on the recording method of the disc) may have some

difference on sound level.

Product and Warranty Service

Your HYUNDAI MP3/WMA CD Player is guaranteed against defective parts and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of the first vehicle registration after new vehicle sale. In the event your MP3/WMA CD Player is faulty, please take your HYUNDAI vehicle to your nearest HYUNDAI dealer for their diagnostic inspection of your MP3/WMA CD Player. If proven defective, your HYUNDAI dealer will implement a change over product service to replace your faulty MP3/WMA CD Player. This product guarantee does not cover damage to your MP3/WMA CD Player (with CD, MP3/WMA and TUNER) if it has been subjected to misuse or abuse. A fee to extend warranty service to any unit that has been misused or abused will be applied prior to any service work carried out. This guarantee does not cover any call for warranty service or change over product service if it is recognized that your complaint is caused by your use of damaged, faulty CD Discs or imperfect CD-R and CD-RW discs or USB devices. The guarantee does not cover operating and/or performance expectations beyond the specifications shown in this user manual.

MP3/WMA Information The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio is able to play MP3 and WMA music files from a compact disc or USB memory device. MP3 is an abbreviation of Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) Audio layer 3. MP3 audio format files are typically only 1/10th the size of conventional CD DA audio files. Most MP3 files are created on a personal computer using special software. Additional text information such as track TITLE, ARTIST and ALBUM included in the audio track can be displayed on the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. The sound quality of MP3 files varies depending on the settings used when the file was created. Your HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio plays most MP3 files. WMA is an abbreviation of Windows Media Audio, an audio format developed by Microsoft Corporation. WMA is similar to MP3 with respect to size, sound quality and text display. WMA files are created using the Windows Media Player on a personal computer. Your HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio plays most WMA files.

Note: - The elapsed playing time shown on the display may not be correct when playing MP3 files

encoded with variable bit rate (VBR). - MP3 and WMA files encoded at bit rates lower than 128 KB/s will provide lower sound quality

compared to conventional CD DA audio tracks. - MP3 and WMA files with digital rights management* (DRM) activated cannot be played on

this car audio set. - Only 32 character file names are displayed. - Only FAT, FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 file systems are supported. - Only ID3 tags V1.1, V2.2 and V2.3 are supported.
