The Certificate Supplement helps to ensure thatqualifications are easily understood acrossnational systems and makes it easier for learnersto find employment or training opportunitiesbeyond the borders of their own country.

It provides details on the skills that candidatesare required to demonstrate in order to achievea City & Guilds certificate, helps learners toprepare for job interviews and allows employersto choose the best candidate to work for theirorganisation.

City & Guilds was the first UK awarding body tolaunch the Europass Certificate Supplement andstill the only one offering it across itsqualification portfolio.

Holders of an Advanced Diplomawill be considered for entry into year 1 of theFdA in Hairdressing Salon Management.

The University of Derby is a modern and friendlyuniversity located in central England, on theedge of the beautiful countryside of the PeakDistrict. There are over 20,000 students,including 1000 international students from 100countries. In addition, over 4000 students arestudying for one of the university’s programmesin Botswana, Greece, Malaysia, Malawi, Swedenand Switzerland.

Derby has awarded more work-basedqualifications than any other UK university. TheUniversity has built very close links with the localindustry, especially in hospitality, tourism,events and spa management and its partnersinclude global brands such as Grosvenor Hotels,The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, Wella,TONI&GUY, Mandarin Oriental Spas, Tui TravelGroup. Many of the University’s courses havebeen developed with employers and areaccredited by professional bodies.

The University has also been at the forefront ofthe adoption of new teaching and learningmethods, based on experiential learningproviding opportunities to engage with industryand work on live projects and case studies set byemployers. Holders of an Advanced Diplomawishing to pursue further study with the MacauInstitute of Management in the Bachelor ofBusiness Administration programme (ChineseBBA) will be given a 40% block exemptions.

Further exemptions may be granted, and allapplications will be dealt with on an individualbasis.

Macau Institute of Management (MIM) is theacademic arm of the Macau ManagementAssociation, a registered and recognised highereducation institution in Macau.

Established in 1988, the Institute has beenplaying a key role in the training of managementexecutives in Macau. MIM offers a wide range ofacademic programmes, leading to qualificationsrecognised by the Macau SAR Government.

The Malaysian Hairdressing Association (MHA)represents the professional interests ofhairdressers in Malaysia. It was established toenhance the positive image of the hairdressingprofession and to promote world classstandards within the industry.

APHCA was established to improve standardswithin the hairdressing and cosmetologyindustries by bringing professionals, companiesand national associations together in the Asia-Pacific region. Member countries includeAustralia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia,Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines,South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the United States.

The Association is committed to making theimplementation of trade agreements moreefficient, resulting in lower costs for productsand technology and a more level playing field forall industry players. The work of APHCA isparticularly important for small countries thatneed the right knowledge and technology toprovide quality service, but have less capital toinvest.

APHCA (Malaysia) is working very closely withmajor industry players including L’Oréal (Matrix),Babyliss Pro, Office Cosmetics, Schwarzkopf andVita Phyto.
