Meet

Bryan Kujawa My name is Bryan Kujawa (kwee’ ava) and I’m a seminarian at St. Paul Seminary studying my first year of working towards a Masters of Divinity. I’m 24 years old and originally from Crookston, MN and I am studying to be a priest for the Diocese of Crookston. I began my college studies in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota, looking to gain a degree in History education with a minor in coaching football. I loved my experiences there, but ultimately felt as though something was missing. I decided to check out the seminary and so had to transfer to Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN. In my time at Immaculate Heart of Mary seminary, I spent some time in prayer and further discerned a call to the priesthood. The Lord filled my heart with His graces and I decided to continue on to SPS where I’ll be for four years. Part of the program at SPS involves going to a parish most Wednesdays and one weekend per month. Guardian Angels happens to be the parish chosen for me, my Teaching Parish. While here, I’ll be attending Mass, making hospital visits, helping teach religious ed. classes, reading and/or serving at Mass, and eventually preaching once I’m ordained a deacon. Over the next three and a half years I also hope to meet and get to know several of the parishioners at GA. Please feel free to introduce yourself to me and let me know a little bit about your life. I look forward to meeting many of you and praying for all of you. Please pray for me as well.

Mass Intentions … Mass intentions may be for the living and the departed, with a ┼ designating in the bulletin a deceased person. There is a $10 suggested donation per Mass intention. Permission from the sick person or his/her family must be granted before a name’s inclusion in these prayers. To schedule a Mass intention, call Jean in the parish office.

Baptism …Sacramental preparation is required for all parents. Godparents and Grandparents are also encouraged to attend. Baptismal prep sessions are given every other month and Baptism Masses are held once a month. Call Jean in the parish office to schedule a child for Baptism and the parents for baptismal prep.

Prayers of the Faithful ….If you would like a name included in our Prayers of the Faithful for the sick, please call the Parish Office.

Penance...Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and anytime by appointment.

Matrimony...Pre-registration required at least one year in advance; marriage preparation course is required. Initial contact: Dan & Richie Klein (home) 952-448-4406, (cell) 612-743-3541, or e-mail: [email protected].

Anointing… If you wish to receive an anointing please call the parish office.

Communion for the Homebound...When we come together to pray at our Eucharistic liturgy, we do not forget the members of our community who are unable to be with us because of ill health. We remember them in our prayer, and we wish to include them in our Holy Communion. Members of our community bring the Blessed Sacrament to them to comfort them and to unite them with us in the Eucharist. We are not always aware of those who have this need. Please call the Parish Office to let us know if you or a member of your family would like to have Holy Communion brought to them. That way we can schedule a time for our ministers to visit and bring the Sacrament.

Hospital, Nursing Home, Homebound Visits...Churches are no longer notified by hospitals or nursing homes when a parishioner is admitted unless the family has requested it. If you or a family member are homebound, hospitalized or in a nursing home and would like a visit from a member of the pastoral ministry staff, please call Jean Rief in the parish office.

Matching Grant Cookie Walk ~ Sponsored by: Catholic Financial Society of Guardian Angles Proceeds going to Guardian Angels Catholic Education.

This event has been a huge success in the past years for several reasons. *Bakers were delighted to take part. They baked dozens of their favorite cookies and candies and donate them. *The selection is always phenomenal. Bakers and non-bakers alike snatched up dozens of delightful confections. *Buyers choice was the rule. Build your own tray full, take one or many of your favorite items. *Monies raised benefited Catholic Education. *With it being a Matching Grant this year we can receive up to $1,000.00 from Catholic Financial depending on funds raised.

Most of you know how the cookie walk works but for those new to the parish, a cookie walk is: A bake sale where the buyers use a provided container and walk around a table filled with many choices of cookies and candies. The buyers can choose the type and number of each item they want. At the check out cookie containers are weighed and priced per pound.

We are asking for help from all members of the parish to bake and make their favorite cookies, bars and candies and donate to the cookie walk. This

means anyone who would be so kind as to do baking for this project.

Please call one of the following to let them know that you will be able to help again this year.
