Sarah Webb 11-23-10 Teacher Cadet Today was my tenth day as a teacher cadet. I feel like I don’t get to spend very much time with my students at all. Although, I do enjoy the chance to have the time to learn what its like to be a teacher whenever you are not doing the teaching. I am learning more and more everyday that you do a lot more than just teaching whenever you become a teacher. Not including planning all of your lessons for everyday that you will teach, you also have to keep up with all the children’s work and grade it every time that they do it. They also have to have a lot of creativity for projects and other things like that. Other than learning that today was a pretty normal day. The children went to art today since it was a Tuesday. Whenever we came to pick them up the art teacher, Mrs. Smith was yelling at our students. This is the first time I have ever heard this particular teacher even raise her voice so I knew that the children had really done something wrong this time. I never found out exactly what is was though. Once we got back to the classroom the class started working on their memory string projects. They got this idea from a book they had read the previous day. The last thing that happened to me today was I ended up locking my keys in my car. I didn’t realize this until after I had already left my classroom and was walking out into the parking lot. I knew as soon as I looked into my purse and didn’t see them that I had locked them in there. So I called my mom and asked her to bring the spare to me. Even though it was all the way in Hickory Grove she brought it to me. In the mean time while I was waiting on her to get to the school I went back to my class and helped them to finish their projects which all went good. Other than that one incident my day went very well.

Sarah Webb 11-23-10 Teacher Cadet

Today was my tenth day as a teacher cadet. I feel like I don’t get to spend very much

time with my students at all. Although, I do enjoy the chance to have the time to learn what its

like to be a teacher whenever you are not doing the teaching. I am learning more and more

everyday that you do a lot more than just teaching whenever you become a teacher. Not

including planning all of your lessons for everyday that you will teach, you also have to keep up

with all the children’s work and grade it every time that they do it. They also have to have a lot

of creativity for projects and other things like that. Other than learning that today was a pretty

normal day. The children went to art today since it was a Tuesday. Whenever we came to pick

them up the art teacher, Mrs. Smith was yelling at our students. This is the first time I have ever

heard this particular teacher even raise her voice so I knew that the children had really done

something wrong this time. I never found out exactly what is was though. Once we got back to

the classroom the class started working on their memory string projects. They got this idea

from a book they had read the previous day. The last thing that happened to me today was I

ended up locking my keys in my car. I didn’t realize this until after I had already left my

classroom and was walking out into the parking lot. I knew as soon as I looked into my purse

and didn’t see them that I had locked them in there. So I called my mom and asked her to bring

the spare to me. Even though it was all the way in Hickory Grove she brought it to me. In the

mean time while I was waiting on her to get to the school I went back to my class and helped

them to finish their projects which all went good. Other than that one incident my day went

very well.
