Chairman’s Message 2020
We have been working very hard in the back ground amidst all the lockdown
and uncertainty to keep working on this year’s show, but happy to share that
we are going ahead.
We are delighted this year to welcome lots of new sponsors. We are so very
appreciative of all our sponsors old and new. The fact that so many people and
businesses have supported us at a time when the world has been at an all time
low, is testament to the fantastic community we have around us. We are very,
very appreciative of everyone’s support.
The whole show book has been revamped, a few new classes added for people
to try. We always welcome feedback on what can be improved. This can be
done online on the show website. We work hard to improve the show for you
year on year.
This year we were extremely fortunate to be awarded a CBH Grass Roots grant
and a Westpac Community Grant. Harvest Road have also sponsored some
new gazebos and thanks to the additional funding we have also invested in
some tables and chairs, all of which we hope will be useful for many years to
come. Thank you to CBH and Westpac Bank for the opportunity to apply for a
grant.
The show committee has been amazing as always. Despite restrictions on
getting together for committee meetings, they have worked so hard and I am
so thankful and grateful for the amazing group of people we have working in
the background. New members are always welcome as even if you can’t come
to meetings there is still plenty you can help us with.
Thank you also to everyone who has agreed to steward or to judge a section.
This is such a rewarding job and so much goes on behind the scenes. Thank
you for your time, commitment and support. We are very grateful.
Should you have any time to spare either before the show to help with set up or
on the Sunday after the show please let us know as we always need extra help.
Finally I would like to say thank you to you. Without any entries in the show,
there is no show, so we hope you love the new show book as much as we do,
and we look forward to welcoming you once again to the Moora Show.

HELP NEEDED! Do you want to do something that is satisfying and of great service to your community? • Join us and come along to our fun monthly meetings and have
your say in how the show can happen in the future. New ideas are always welcome.
• Can’t make it to meetings? No problem, we still need help with the show book, website, social media, advertising, sponsors and general admin.
• No time over the year? – Why not volunteer on Show day to help, or spare us a few hours for the set up in the days before the show?
• We ALWAYS need help on the Sunday after the show if you can spare us a few hours or more. Bring the kids too. There is so much to do.
• Why? Because many hands make light work – we need YOU!

SECTION A
SHEEP - EXHIBITION
This year we are having a wonderful exhibition of several breeds of
sheep. Thanks to Gaden Rose.
Sheep form a large part of Australia’s thriving agricultural industry.
Australian farmers produce excellent wool and some of the best
quality lamb in the world.
You can see fleece, meat and dual purpose sheep at the Moora Show.
Stop by and say hello!
A bit about sheep.
Did you know that sheep are waterproof? A compound in their fleece
called lanolin repels water and helps to keep them toasty warm in the
coldest weeks of winter. If lanolin seems familiar, you might have seen
it in your hand cream—it’s great for dry skin.

make a fine addition to your own home or which can be an entry into
this years Moora Show!

Ingredients:
240 grams butter
2 cups Caster Sugar
2 cups Self Raising Flour
4 tablespoons Custard Powder
4 eggs
1 cup milk
Method:
1. Beat all ingredients together for 10 minutes
2. Pour into a greased and buttered 20 cm round tin.

Hints and Notes
• Read your schedule carefully
• Use the best quality ingredients that are available to you.
• Use plain cutters for scones.
• Castor sugar blends together better than granulated

edges of the pan.
• Remove patty pan papers and all baking paper from the cakes.
• All cakes to be cooked in round tins 20cm or 8”
• Loaf to be cooked in a loaf tin.
• Put a folded tea towel over the cooling rack to avoid lines on top of the cake.

Moora Horsemans’ Association (MHA) is a local group of keen and
enthusiastic horse riders. The group caters for a wide range of ages,
all levels of education and a wide range of different disciplines
including dressage, jumping, poles, natural horsemanship etc.
MHA offers a safe and welcoming environment for riders and a great
opportunity to meet other like-minded people and enjoy the sport
together.
To become a member of MHA, there is an annual fee of $125 and then,
there is the cost of the instructors. The price ranges on each instructor
and varies from free to $100 per lesson for a private one-hour lesson.
MHA is fortunate to attract some high
calibre instructors which really helps the riders and horse training.
For more information contact either Anne Wilkins, MHA

CENTRAL MIDLANDS PONY CLUB
“Pony Clubs exist to promote the physical, mental and spiritual
development of young people by encouraging sportsmanship and
good citizenship and by providing opportunities for young riders to
gain knowledge and become proficient in their chosen equestrian
sport.”
Pony Club in Moora has been around for generations of locals, with
some stellar names passing through on their way to fame (if not
fortune…). Kids growing together, with each other & their ponies, are
able to learn the essence of success and survival, with the valuable
instruction of experienced people overseeing their progress.
Fun days of trying a little of everything.
New members are always welcome to come along and try out the
club, please contact the people below for a warm introduction into the
