HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.
(Peter Marshall)
Freedom has its life in the hearts, the action, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed,
else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.
(Dwight D Eisenhower)

OPERATION HOPE: BACK TO SCHOOL
School just let out for the summer — but before you know it — we will be gathering school supplies
for Operation Hope. It’s that time of year when children begin shopping with parents for books, paper, glue, and pencils. Unfortunately, some do not experience this excite-ment due to lack of funds! Can you imagine going to school without the required materials? Operation Hope is gearing up to provide the materials each child needs in or-der to benefit from a public education.
We will start collecting school supplies on July 17th and continue through the end of July. We have had a special “angel” donate backpacks so we ask you to just concen-trate on buying the supplies this year. Please watch the weekly bulletin for more details.
If you have any questions, call Nancy Cox at 321.243.3312 or email her at [email protected].

ADOPT A FLOWER BED!
The flower bed at the west entrance to the church needs some TLC. This is one of the first things a visitor sees, so it is important to keep it looking nice. What it needs mainly is weeding, along with occa-
sional applications of mulch and fertilizer. We’re looking for a person or couple to take over the maintenance of this bed. The church will provide all materials. You can set your own schedule, be your own boss!
If interested please contact the church office or John Yust.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY—EARLY REPORT FROM GA At press time, Cassie and I are just ending at the
222nd General Assembly in Portland, Oregon. After a marvelous opening worship and early business sessions, and, in my case, a visit to a lively church in Salem, we be-gan the primary work of our committees.
The Holy Spirit is here and active, even in our now tired bodies. Your prayers are felt and appreciated. I see Cassie only rarely, but she is active in her role. We will be filled with news to report and experiences to share on our return.
For now, blessings to all and stay tuned! Monia Yust
A print-out Summary of the events of General Assembly is available at the West door of the Sanctuary on the Mission table.
