Primary School NewsStudents at Bryant and North Hornell Elementary Schools will be byear. We started the year with a pledge to be Bucket Filling Schooon the book,Have You Filled a Bucket Today ? by Carol McCloud.Students are earning raindrops daily for kind acts and we are seeinmany buckets we can fill this year. It takes 100 raindrops to fill a buStudentsalso are learning the importance of recycling through our Paper Recycling Program. Each classroom has a box to place their rpaper products. The paper is collected weekly by the second grade sand taken to the Hornell Transfer Station by our parent volunteer, KaRacalto.We also are collecting pop tabs again this year. Last year, the primarywon the district-wide challenge. This year, we will see how many bupop tabs we can collect. This is a wonderful service project to suppoRonald McDonald House in Rochester, NY.The primary schools had their fire safety assemblies the week of Oc(Fire Prevention Week). Firefighters from the North Hornell and HoFire Departments visited the schools to teach students how to prevenprotect themselves from fires.The schools celebrated Homecoming with spirit week from Septemb24. We had a different theme each day. On September 24, Hornell Vaathletes came to the schools to sign autographs. Later that day, the pschools marched in the Homecoming parade.Fall has been an exciting time at the Hornell primary schools!
