Description of iMentor

iMentor, founded in 1999 by John Griffin of Blue Ridge Capital, is changing theface of youth mentoring. Incorporating mentoring best practices and research,iMentor capitalizes on email and emerging technologies to add structure andflexibility to its mentoring relationships. Mentor-mentee pairs build their rela-tionship through a potent combination of weekly email communication and fre-quent in-person meetings. Over the last seven years, iMentor has provided men-toring, skills and opportunities to over 5,000 young people from some of themost underserved communities of New York City.

A product of iMentor’s seven years of experience, iMentor Interactive (iMi) isan online social network designed specifically for mentoring and available toschools and youth development organizations around the world. iMi provideseach organization with its own independent and secure social network, whileproviding participants and staff with all the tools and expertise necessary torun a quality mentoring program, instantly. Over the next five years, iMi aimsto make and support 10,000 new mentor-mentee matches.

As Chief Investment Officer Jane is responsible for the investment policy andmanagement of the College’s $1.5 billion endowment and its related assets.Prior to joining Wellesley College in 2002, Jane was employed by the HarvardManagement Company from 1987-2001. Her most recent position at HarvardManagement Company was as Vice President of External Management, inwhich she had responsibility for $7 billion in Harvard assets, including $6 billionin externally managed investments for the Harvard endowment, and $1 billionin Harvard-affiliated accounts. Jane’s prior positions at Harvard Managementincluded direct investments in US equities and venture capital, and themanagement and investment of charitable trusts.

Prior to joining Harvard Management Company, Jane was a managementconsultant with Bain & Company in Boston, MA from 1984-1987.

From 1980-1982 Jane was a manager in the Office of Investments at YaleUniversity. During 1983 she worked with Lord, Abbett Inc. in New York as anequities analyst.

Jane has a B.A. from Yale College (1980, English), and an M.B.A. from the YaleSchool of Management (1984). She serves on the Yale University InvestmentCommittee and on the Board of The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF).She is also a member of the Investment Committees of Partners HealthcareSystem and the Harvard-Yenching Institute. She is a Chartered FinancialAnalyst and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, the BostonCommittee on Foreign Relations and the Boston Economic Club.

Jane lives in Concord, MA with her husband, Ralph Earle III, and their twochildren, Elizabeth and Thomas.
