Suspensions Solutions

SUSPENSIONS Type of mixture which over time has

one or more parts that settles to the bottom.

Example 1: Sand in water mixture. Example 2: Orange juice. Example 3: Some medicines.

SOLUTIONS Type of mixture with parts that blends

so that it looks the same everywhere even under the microscope.

Example: Salt in water mixture .

Solutes Solvents

The smaller amount that is dissolved

The larger amount that dissolves the

other substance in a

solution.

(solvent).

at higher temperatures.
