Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 Notice of Meeting of the Aboriginal Cultural Material Committee (“ACMC”) The principal purpose of the ACMC is to provide advice to the Minister for Indigenous Affairs regarding the importance and significance of Aboriginal sites. The Committee makes recommendations to the Minister as to whether consent should be granted to use land containing Aboriginal sites for particular purposes, and if so on what conditions, as required by Section 18 of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972. Persons who are sufficiently affected by any of the matters listed below and wish to provide written submissions, can write to: REGISTRAR OF ABORIGINAL SITES The closing date for receiving written submissions is 12pm Wednesday 14 November 2012. The ACMC will not consider submissions received after this date.
