On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee and Executive, it is a great pleasure to extend to you an invitation to join us at the 13th HITH Society Annual Scientific Meeting. The conference will be held in Canberra from 10 to 12 November 2021 at the modern Hotel Realm. A fabulous “Roaring 20s” dinner and dance will be held nearby in the iconic Old Parliament House, which was our seat of parliament from 1927 to 1988.

The annual HITH Conference has become a cornerstone of the HITH Calendar and is the must attend HITH event of the year and this will be even more so with the requirement to cancel our 2020 conference due to COVID-19. The Conference will strive to offer plenty of networking opportunities to meet and interact with colleagues from Australia, New Zealand as well as our invited speakers, sponsors and exhibitors

We are excited about developing our program in line with the conference theme of 2021: The HITH Revolution. With pressure on inpatient beds higher than ever before, we believe it’s time for HITH to be a standard and expanding component of the patient flow process in Australasia. The location in Canberra provides a wonderful opportunity to involve federal politicians, policy makers, academics, advisors and senior government decision makers.

We also look forward to welcoming our keynote speaker; Michel Calmon, CEO of Fondation Santé Service; Vice President of HAH French Federation (FNEHAD), France who will share insights on the well established and rapidly expanding HCH (Hospital Care at Home) services and FNEHAD in France.

Canberra is a young and vibrant multicultural city with many iconic attractions that tell the story of Australia. Delegates can relax in the beautiful natural environment or wind down at one of the award winning dining and art precincts.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

Role of HITH in Australia and about HITH Society

Hospital in the Home (HITH) services deliver selected types of patient-centred multidisciplinary acute care to suitable, consenting patients at their home or clinic setting as an alternative to inpatient (hospital) care. HITH is clinical care that reduces the length of stay in hospital or in some instances can avoid an admission altogether.

The HITH Society is the peak body representing doctors, nurses, allied health, and other health care workers in Australia, Asia & the Pacific who provide Hospital in the Home (HITH) care. The HITH Society provides education, promotes networking and through its Executive Council, represents its members by providing expert commentary and lobbying Governments at a local and Federal level on HITH issues.

The Conference will incorporate a combination of plenary and breakout sessions, advance skilled workshops, a trade exhibition -incorporating poster displays and all morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks for delegates –as well as a full social program including a Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner.

HITH 2021 will take place at The Hotel Realm, Canberra's finest 5 Star luxury hotel, and situated in the elegant suburb of Barton, on the footsteps of Parliament House.

2019 Attendee ProfileIn 2019, the HITH Conference attracted 213 professionals

from a number of organisations all dedicated to the provision

of out of hospital care. Of these 213 attendees, 173 were

paying delegates.

There were attendees from across Australia. The attendees

Please note that due to privacy regulations, the delegate list will only consist of delegates who have consented to allowing their details to be provided.

CANCELLATION POLICY

• If cancellation of sponsorship is necessary after confirmation, the following penalties will apply:

• For cancellation notices received in writing until 17 September 2021, a cancellation penalty of 50% of the original package price (incl. GST) will apply

• Cancellation notices received after 17 September 2021 receive no refund.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION INCLUDE:

• The payment is offered as an unconditional grant. The sponsor has no control over content, tone or emphasis of the Conference, allocation of funds or selection of

recipients.

• The company will have no right or access to use the Conference logo unless authorised by the Conference Secretariat.

• The Conference Committee does not endorse or promote any health-care related products.

• Companies cannot claim any relationship, endorsement or support from the Conference collaborators.

• Whilst every care will be taken by the venue and organising personnel, the organisers will not be responsible for any loss or damage to property

• The Conference Secretariat will require all exhibitors to give evidence of their public liability insurance to cover the display or provide a signed indemnity form in

order to participate. This information will need to be provided to the Conference Secretariat by 6 October 2021.
