Tencate defender M™ is the new flame-resistant military combat fabric of both the United States Army and United States Marine Corps. In addition to providing exceptional protection from flame and heat, it is also as comfortable and durable as other nylon/cotton military fabrics.

• PROTECTION - the fabric self-extinguishes and will not melt or drip. The FR properties are inherent to the fabric and will not wash or wear out. Provides protection equivalent to more expensive flame-resistant fabrics.

what is no fly Zone™?A permethrin-based technology that helps prevent the spread of insect-bornediseases by repelling insects from the body through clothing, uniforms or gear.

What is Permethrin?A man-made insecticide, effective against multiple species of crawling and flying insects including mosquitoes, ticks, ants, chiggers, flies and midges.

ApplicationThe patented process is achieved by cross linking permethrin onto fabrics before manufacturing. This binding system provides a uniform application across the fabric and unprecedented durability.

Overall SafetyFor the general public, the Centers for disease Control and Preventionrecommends use of permethrin-treated clothing when traveling to areas prone to disease carrying insects.

Product has been registered with the EPA and tested by the United States Military

Global Threat of Infectious DiseasesInternationally, there is growing concern regarding insect-borne diseases. Infectious diseases remain the third leading cause of death in the United States each year, and the second leading cause of death worldwide.

For many of these insect-borne diseases there are no vaccines or therapeutic drugs, and preventative measures are vital for disease protection.

PerformanceIn a field trial, persons wearing permethrin-treated uniforms and 35% dEET(on exposed skin) had more than 99% protection (1 bite/hour) over eight hours even under conditions of intense biting pressures. Unprotected persons have received an average of 1188 bites/hour. (1)

DurabilityFabric testing has indicated incredible durability with an 80% retention rate after 25 home launderings and 70% after 50 home launderings.

100% cotton RIPStoP This lighter weight ripstop fabric breathes well. Consistent with other cotton fabrics, the color will fade quickly, and over time the cotton fibers will lose their strength under industrial wear and laundering.
