**Congress appropriates funding for CDBG annually, HUD is the federal agency charged with distributing the funds and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal statutes and regulations pertaining to the programs.

The Workshop has trainers representing COSCDA , State, HUD - explain what each is(HUD) provided the funding for this training AND multiple states contributed to the training slides and hand out materials This workshop is about What you need to know about CDBGThe workshop is for local officials, clerks and town managers, there is also a companion workshop for the grant administrators, so if you have a municipal employee or a contract administrator, you should make sure they attend that workshop, it is more in-depth, three days. (IF state requires this for GAs, say that here).

Know the ground rules for the workshop: Ground rules- put cell phones on vibrate, walk out to answer it, logistics, where restrooms are, etc.

The workshop and materials will: - Assist you with proper compliance in the implementation of your CDBG funded project. - Strengthen partnerships between state and UGLGs
