OF AGED COUPLE John Polk and Wife Found in Unconscious Con ¬ dition at Their Home Near TownHad Been Living Alone for Some Time r la a helpless condition and too leeble t to make an outcry for assistance John Talk aged eightyone years was found lying on the doorstop of his little home near Cloverport on Saturday afternoon v and when picked up by a neighbor was in a state of unconsciousness In the house ale wits aged seventytwo years was tonnd with her lowei limbs on the floor and ner body on the bed She too teas in an unconscious condition when tonnd How long this aged couple had been in this condition Is not known but the supposition is they had become helpless on Friday and had been lying in their respective condition when found for over twenty four houis Without regaining consciousness or strength sufficient to relate the cir ¬ cumstances that caused them to fall in the positions in which they were found both Mr Polk and his wife died on Monday evening Mrs Polk at 5 30 had been in poor nealth for two years his strength never began to tail nun until last January and from that time on all that physicians could do for him was to no avail As a list resort he was taken to Louisville Aug 20 where he under went an operation on the 24th which at first seemed to be successful but on the fiftn day thereafter he closed his eyes in that sleep from which none wakenMr Dhonau was born near Rome Perry county Ind Jet 3 18UO and lived there until seven years of age when his parents moved to Brecken ridge co Ky settling on a farm near CIcverport On Oct 23 1890 Mr Dhonau was married to Miss Ada Meador daugh ¬ ter of James Meador and to this union four children were born Besides his wife and children Mr Dhonau is survived by one brother Albert Dbonau of Evansville and live sisters Mrs C Fnchs of Tell City Mrs P Dick of JArman Ridge Mrs W Saunders Miss Harriet Dhonau and Mrs C Hninman of this city In 1802 Mr Dhonan moved to Charleston Mo wnere be engaged very extensively 1n farming for ten years when on account of his wifes health he returned to Kentucky and located on a farm near Ekron where ho was living at the time of his death In tne death o Wm Dhonau we realize a good man a kind husband and a loving father has passed from among us and as such he was liked and admired by all who knew him for nls true worth The remains were brought to thin city Wednesday and taken to the home of his sister Mrs C Hamman where they laid in state until Aug 30 when tna funeral was conducted from the Presbyterian Church at 130 P M by RevE W Graves the pastor as ¬ sisted by Hev
