c. A dedicated internal auditor training course may be useful to further enhance learning values of participants
during the ISPS Code audit for port facility.
b. Detailed information of actual audit practice in various country would be beneficial because participants including APEC experts can share best practice.
18
Conclusion
○The seminar was developed based on the feedbacks and experiences gained from the previous APEC seminars.
○Using Indonesian language was effective for enhancing participants’ understanding and encouraging active participation during the seminar.
○It is important to conduct practical exercises continuously. It is recommend that seminars could be further elevated to higher level allowing participants to have more exercises in planning exercise or audit.
19
Conclusion
○Seminars should be held targeting officers working at local ports, because they do not have opportunities to attend similar seminars thus knowledge gap between officers in the capital and outside the capital could be seen.
○For the table-top exercise, an artificial port was utilized. It is recommended that a real port facility in the host country should be considered.
○A dedicated training course for auditors might be useful to further enhance learning values of participants during the ISPS Code audit for port facility.
