Manufacturing ceramic objects is one of the man's oldest trades. Today, the modern life cannot be imagined without ceramic objects. Wherever high hygienic standards are required and whenever any influence of various chemical substances is present, ceramic materials are irreplaceable. Ceramics is also used to decorate and improve the appearance of interiors and exteriors.

About us• “Keramika” ad. Mladenovac in liquidation is the industry of
construction ceramics, founded in 1950 and it includes factories: “Sanitarna” and “Cevi,” as well as the “Košarno” mine.
• The total capacity is around 700,000 sanitary facilities, around 20,000 ceramic pipes and other related products and almost 50,000 t of clay. “Ceramic” used to export 40% of its products to Germany, Austria, etc., as well as to all republics of the former Yugoslavia.
• It is one of the biggest manufacturers of construction ceramics and it is the holder of three trade marks: the quality trade mark YU ISO 9001-2001, environmental protection trade mark, since all of its products are ecological, while the factory itself is not a polluter and has participated in a number of humanitarian actions.
• Since 2005 it has been the holder of the certificate for flue pipes and purpose made circular cross-section pieces in accordance with the European standard EN 1457/A1, which means that the products carry the CE mark.

• The micro-location of “Keramika” Mladenovac is the cadastre plot 4545/1 of the Cadastre Municipality Mladenovac (town). The plot covers the area of 16 ha 78 a 74 m2.
• There are 54 building structures on the plot, three of which are registered with the proprietary right, while the request for legalization for the others has been submitted. The biggest structure with the proprietary right with the total area of the floor plan of 19,768m2 is the new sanitary facilities unit built in 1974. The total floor area of the structures is around 70,000.m2
• The equipment is partly obsolete in technical and technological terms and investments are required for new manufacturing capacities (capital-intensive technology), including the tunnel furnace.

LocationLocation• The origins of the town of Mladenovac are related to the construction of the
Belgrade – Nis railway line (1.6.1881 - 1.9.1894). • It was declared a small town in 1883 and municipality in 1884. Its name
derives from the village of Mladenovac, on which territory it started to be built and developed.
• The main railway line Belgrade – Nis – Sofia – Athens passes through the town.
• The shortest connection with the Belgrade – Nis motorway goes via Mali Pozarevac (13km).

industrially made elements. Its construction and quality of the used materials are such that they ensure smooth functioning and durability.
• The basic characteristics of the system are:
• - Circular or square cross-section of the inner flue pipe which enables the most favourable passage of smoke gases, the least resistance and the easiest cleaning, while keeping its minimum size.
• - The inner ceramic flue pipe is fireproof, and resistant to acid and temperature changes. It does not permeate gases and it is of satisfactory hardness, so it is also appropriate for high chimneys.
• - Multi-layer construction ensures free dilatation in all directions, heat insulation and simple assembly.

The Košarno mineThe Košarno mine
• The deposits of the “KOŠARNO” mine are 15 km away from Mladenovac. It belongs to tertiary. The geological and laboratory researches have defined four basic qualities of the clay: Košarno 1, Košarno 2, Košarno 3 and Košarno 5.
• The clays are of the kaolin type. The exploitation of the deposit is in the form of an open pit and has been intensive since 1982. The clays are used for the manufacturing of ceramic tiles, sewerage pipes, acid-resistant drawn pipes, flue pipes, channel units, collecting plates, etc.
