Tar spots can be removed with a commercial tar remover.

You can wash the car in an automatic car wash.

Systems with soft brushes are preffered.

Do not wash the car with a high-pressure or steam-jet cleaner.

Blending not possible

Dust inclusions cannot be removed by polishing. Therefore

maximum cleanliness should be obtained in the application

process.

This gives more uniform result, especially on very dark colors.

** Option:

Depending on the color it is possible to cover Standohyd

Basecoat with Standocryl VOC Clears baked and sanded.


Care of the finish:

VOC

Do not attach any stickers, foils, magnetic labels or similar to the

painted surface.

Car washes with brushes do not necessarily have a negative

impact on the paint surface or on the sensitivity to scratching.

Do not use any paint cleaning compounds, sanding or polishing

pastes/compounds, or even gloss preservers (wax) for

paintwork care. They may damage the surface.

If, by accident wax gets on the surface, remove it immediately

with Standox Silicone Remover. Take care not to exert high

pressure on the paint surface.

Do not allow any resinous, greasy or oily substances to get on

the paint surface, as these may leave traces.

To give a better protection on the cleaned area, further

polishing with a small amount of 3M Perfect-it (TM) III Extra Fine

Sanding Paste on the orange 02362 pad is recommended.

Oil and residue should be cleaned off with 3M 55535 Finish

Control Spray or degreaser in order to check if it is necessary to

reapply polish.

If the finish is still not satisfactory, the last two process steps may

be repeated if necessary.

Prepare the vehicle for the second colour shade.

Apply second colour shade with Standohyd Basecoat.







After drying the clearcoat must be sanded.

polishing foam orange (for better cooling). Apply a small

amount of 3M Perfect-it (TM) III Extra Fine Sanding Paste to the

foam.

Cleaning:

Repaired and clearcoated panels are sanded with orbital

sanding machine and P1000-P1500, edges and corners with

P3000 handsanding. Blending area should be prepared with

P3000 machine sanding.

Apply Standohyd Special Effect Color Blend to surrounding

fade out area or adjacent panels with closed coats.

and up to the edge of previously applied and still wet

Standohyd Special Effect Color Blend film.

All panels with repaired filler areas must be clearcoated with a

Standocryl VOC Clear in accordance to relevant TDS.

Repaired panels areas:

Standohyd Special Effect Additive, apply in 1.5 coat process

and fade into adjacent areas.

Drying:

Spray the repair area with catalysed clear.

Oil and residue should be cleaned off with 3M 55535 Finish

Control Spray or degreaser in order to check if it is necessary to

reapply polish. If a satisfactory finish is not achieved, the last

process step can be repeated.

Oven drying 30-35 min / 60-65°C panel temperature

Depending on the finish requirements sand the total area with

P3000 Trizact Fine Finishing Disc (3M 50076) 150mm on a dual

action sander. Particular care should be taken in the fade out

area.

Apply pure Standox 2K Smart Blend Plus and ensure a smooth

transition into the overlapping area.

Polish with a polishing machine and the 3M 02362 polishing

foam orange (for better cooling). Apply a small amount of 3M

Cleaning:

Sand the repair area with P1000-P1200 wet and sand the whole

panel with an ultra fine pad.

Painting:

Apply Standohyd Basecoat effect colour to repair area and even

out the pattern. Spray first coat to the widest area, if needed

apply 2nd

and 3rd

coat with intermediate flash off.

Work back from the widest area with staggered overlapping

effect coats to avoid a strong halo / visible edge and provide a

smooth transition. Start from widest area and work towards

centre.

Mix Standohyd Basecoat ground colour with 5 % Standohyd

Special Additive and then adjust to spray viscosity 22-26 sec.

DIN 4mm by adding Standox Demineralized Water as usual.

After flashing off until matt remove spray dust carefully from

entire area with a tack rag.

Precoat repair area with 1 spray pass of any Standocryl VOC

Clear, after flash off time overcoat the entire area with Standocryl

VOC Clears.

Apply Standohyd Basecoat ground colour until opacity to repair

area (patch of filler). 5 - 10 minutes final flash off followed by 15-

20 minutes at 60-65°C object temperature. Allow surfaces to

cool down to normal temperature.

65°C object temperature. Allow surfaces to cool down to normal

temperature.

UV drying equipment may only be used by instructed and trained personnel.

In accordance with the legal requirements, the bodyshop should display

operating instructions describing the use of the device.


To rule out possible misuse, we recommend setting up a separate ventilated

work area.

Strictly follow the operating instructions of the manufacturer for the UV drying

equipment VISIT UV Flash Dry 15/700.

Measurements performed in-house showed that when the UV Flash Dry

device 15/700 from VISIT is used in the proper way (flexible seal lying on

completely flat surface, see operating instructions), UV radiation generally

remains below the permissible daily dose of 30 J/m² stipulated by the

ICNIRP, provided the output of 3000 pulses per 8 hour working day is not

exceeded. Please note that the reflector is equipped with a glare shield which

must be intact at the time of usage of the reflector.

Measurement of the UV radiation on-site is strictly required if the number of

pulses exceeds 3000 pulses per 8 hour working day. Please contact the

respective Institution for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in this

case.

Operating the equipment:

Training of personnel:

No unprotected personnel should be within a distance of 5 metres from the

lamp during use.

The UV-light-curing Standoflash UV Filler U7100 itself is in principle not

considered to be unhealthy. However, when applying this primer surfacer,

the same protective and safety measures are to be taken as for standard

paint materials.

Handling UV radiation sources, however, requires particular care. Dangers

can only be avoided if a licensed UV drying equipment is used in the proper

way.

Working Process:

Substrate:

Apply activated Standoblue Basecoat ground colour until opacity

to repair area (patch of filler), and extend into adjacent area /

panel.

Sand the repair area with P500 and sand the whole panel with

an ultra fine pad or P1000-3000 disc.

Dry ground colour for 10-15min at 60-65°C or wait until matt

without additional blowing. Spraybooth air blowing systems can

also be used at 20-40°C.

Ensure cooling down.

Apply Standoblue Color Blend to surrounding area or adjacent

panels with closed coats.

Continue with a 2nd or 3rd coat as needed to cover ground

colour in a wet-on-wet process.

Apply 1 coat of RFU Standoblue Basecoat effect colour up to the

Use of heat and/or air moving systems are recommended to

maintain productivity.

Ensure spraygun is used with full trigger for all Standoblue

Basecoat application.

After flashing off until matt remove spray dust carefully from


Work back from the Standoblue Color Blend area with

staggered overlapping effect coats to avoid a strong halo /

visible edge and provide a smooth transition. Start from widest

area and work towards centre.

Spray at 1.5-2.0 bar pressure for effect coat depending on size

and location of repair.

Apply 1 coat Standoblue Basecoat up to the edge of the

Standoblue Color Blend and extend into adjacent area / panel.

Follow by spraying effect coat to make blend-in to the wet

Standoblue Color Blend.

Spray at 1.5-2.0 bar pressure for effect coat, and ensure full

trigger is maintained on the spraygun.

Apply Standoblue Basecoat to remaining repaired area (filler)

with normal 1.5 coat process.

Ensure spraygun is used with full trigger for all Standoblue

application.

Spray at 1.5-2.0 bar pressure for effect coat.

Standoblue Basecoat:

Apply 1st coat as normal until the edge of the wet Standoblue

Color Blend, extend the effect 1/2 coat into the wet Standoblue

Color Blend to make the fadeout.


Painting:

Prepare new panels as usual, see




Apply Standoblue Color Blend to surrounding fade out area or

adjacent panels with closed coats.
