Basic Structure – UnchangedSame 7 parts to Pack Meetings

• Before the Meeting. Pack Leaders gather to prepare meeting place: room set up, prepare exhibits and displays, equipment ready, and agenda is distributed.

• Gathering Time. Provides interesting things for boy and family to do while waiting for everyone else to arrive.

• Opening. A brief ceremony marks the beginning of the meeting. Often consists of a flag presentation, a brief prayer, or a song.

• Program. May include presentations and performances by the dens demonstrating things the boys learned during the month, activities involving entire audience, or a featured event.

Pack Meeting Structure

• Recognition. An important part of the pack meeting is formal recognition given to the Cub Scouts who have earned badges or other awards, and the leaders who have earned training awards, religious emblems, or other community awards.

• Closing. Begins with announcements about special events, coming activities, theme for the next month, date of the next pack meeting, followed by a closing ceremony.

• After the Meeting. After the pack meeting leaders and boys help to put the meeting space back in order and it’s a chance for an informal fellowship session. Some packs might have refreshments.
