in the field of surgical neurophysiology and intraoperative neuromonitoring. University professors

were also recruited in the development of these courses. With the ASET IONM competencies serving

as the foundation, SMEs and university professors collaborated on the outline of module topics, and

course faculty collaborated on the design, development, and presentation of course offerings. All

courses have been peer reviewed for content, content clarity, instructions, and time for completion.

IONM DURING CEREBRAL ANEURYSM REPAIRJeff Balzer, Ph.D., D.ABNM, FASNM

Description: Cerebral aneurysm treatment carries a high risk of ischemic events that can be both detected and reversed with the appropriate IONM monitoring modalities. In addition to being asked to monitor more conventional open surgical

cerebral aneurysm treatment, IONM has expanded to the interventional radiology suite and has proven to be just as valuable during endovascular treatment of both unruptured and ruptured cerebral aneurysms. This presentation will focus on appropriate modalities to be monitored as they relate to the cerebrovascular anatomy and physiology as well as how we have modified our approach to aneurysm treatment based on IONM data collected in over 3,000 patients. Recorded: 10/15/14.
