LABORATORY TOOLS:THE BALANCE, GRADUATED CYLINDER, BURET, AND BUNSEN BURNER
• To have direct experience using these equipments.
• To develop basic skills in making measurements.
• To learn much more than the operational aspects of these devices.
• To learn how to record data as it is observed.

Digital Balance
• Do not place heavy item(s) (heavier than the balance can measure) on the balances.
• Zero the balance using the tare (zero) function.

• Record data and illustrate necessary calculations in the space provided below each directive. Clearly label data and include units.
• Record all displayed digits on the electronic balance.
• Use the same balance for all weights in an experiment.
• Read and record liquid levels in the burettes to the hundredths place (estimated digit).
• Some beakers will be used more than once. If necessary, rinse and dry them between uses.
• Answer questions as you go along.
• Tear and submit the Work Sheets before you leave the lab.
