5. Is TPL required to those who are registering/renewing their vehicle?Yes. TPL is compulsory or mandatory by the government. According tothe law of Insurance code of the Philippines Chapter VI, Sec. 377. Everyland transportation operator and every owner of a motor vehicle shall,before applying for the registration or renewal of registration of any motorvehicle, at his option, either secure an insurance policy or surety bondissued by any insurance company authorized by the Commissioner ormake a cash deposit in such amount as herein required as limit of liabilityfor purposes specified in section three hundred seventy­four. As yourenew or register your vehicle to LTO they are requiring you to get theTPL insurance.

6. How will LTO know that my TPL is real?Upon processing your registration LTO verifies the validity of yoursubmitted Certificate of Cover thru Authentication Facility or STRADCOM.

7. Upon acquisition of a TPL what will I do when I get to LTO?Just do the usual process like smoke emission, stencil and present alldocuments including delivered TPL to attending LTO personnel.

8. What are the benefits covered under TPL insurance?

The company will pay all affected third parties in respect of the bodilyinjury and/or death of an accident caused or arising out of the use of theinsured vehicle.

9. How does TPL’s work?If you are involved in an accident your TPL insurance will cover youagainst the liability. It is primarily intended to provide compensation for thedeath or bodily injury suffered by an innocent third party as a result of theoperation and use of vehicle. It assures the victim and or his/herdependent/s of immediate financial assistance, regardless of the financialcapacity of the vehicle owner.

10. How long is the effectivity of TPL insurance?The effectivity of your TPL insurance is one (1) year beginning at the firstday of the month of your registration period.

11. What are the limitations and exceptions of TPL?The company will subject to the Limits of Liability, pay all sums ofnecessary to discharge liability of the insured in respect of bodily injuryand/or death to any THIRD PARTY in an accident caused by or arising outof the use of the schedule vehicle provided that the insured’s liability shallfirst been determined. With the respect of bodily injury and/or death to anyparty, the Company will pay per victim in any one accident shall notexceed the limits indicated in the Schedule of Indemnities. The Limits ofLiability is fixed to all types of TPL of Php 100,000.00 except for the yellowplate vehicles which has additional passenger liability cover.The companyshall not be liable in any accident or liability caused or incurred outside theRepublic of the Philippines, Acts of God shall not consider in TPL, deathand/or bodily injury or damage caused or beyond the limits of anycarriageway or thoroughfare, and damage to any bridge.

12. How many people are covered under TPL?The policy allows covering more than one person but the limits of liabilityshall not exceed in the aggregate amounts stated by the policy.

13. During an accident, are the people inside the car covered by TPL?No, only if an optional Coverage of Auto Personal Accident has beenincluded in the agreed policy package

14. How much is the maximum claim amount?See the table below. These are the computation or Schedule ofIndemnities.

What should I do in case of accident?

1. Attend to person(s) requiring immediate medical attention2. Secure a Police Report even for minor damages. Be sure to fullydescribed the damage to the involved vehicle passenger in order toprevent a larger claim. If possible, take pictures of the damages.3. Medical report and evidence of medical or hospital expenses, and/or4. Death Certificate and evidence sufficient to establish the proper payee.5. Count the passengers of other vehicle. Get their names, telephonenumbers and the driver’s license number. This is to protect you in casemore people will claim for more than the actual number of passengers.6. Move vehicles to the roadside in order not to obstruct traffic flow. Bothdrivers must sign the sketch that describes the vehicle’s position at thetime of accident.7. Never leave your vehicle unattended to prevent it from further damage.

15. How can I claim my TPL?In the event of accident, just report to the company without unnecessarydelay and submit necessary requirements or proof stating that you areinvolved in the accident. The company will process, evaluate andultimately advise you of its net liability.

16. What if the accident is not my fault?Will I have to pay for it? Yes. According to the policy there is “no­fault ofIndemnity” that mandate by the company. To indemnify the victim.The company will pay any claim of injury or damage regardless of provingfault of any kind, provided that:• The total indemnity in respect of any one THIRD PARTY shall notexceed the fifteen thousand pesos subject to the foregoing Schedule ofIndemnities in case of death or physical injury, without prejudice to theclaimant from pursuing his/her claim.• In which case, he/she shall not be required or compelled by thecompany to execute any Quit Claim or document realizing it from liability.

17. Is my TPL automatically renewed?No. STRONGHOLD INSURANCE COMPANY INCORPORATED will informyou via email or text to remind you that your TPL insurance will soon

expire based in your auto registration date schedule.

18. What type of insurance shall pay for damages to my car?If you want to cover your car from any damages or you may upgrade yourpremium into fully coverage. The company offers the ComprehensiveInsurance. This policy covers all the identified risk that you, as a carowner, could be subjected to.

19. What is Comprehensive Insurance?

Comprehensive insurance known as “full coverage” is your safest option,provide you with the most cover and is therefore also your most expensivechoice of car insurance. It will cover you whether the accident was yourfault, someone else’s fault, or even no­fault.

20. Can I get TPL and comprehensive at the same timeYes, TPL is mandatory by law & can be added with a comprehensivepolicy that is a discretion of the car owner.
